Thunderbird crashed while I was in the middle of writing a detailed email (about 90 minutes in). Nothing appears in the draft folder. Are the breadcrumbs one can look for to located at least the text of the message? If so how would you recommend one go about the process.

With google mail account, emails with larger attachment remain in the Outbox. There is no error message. When I reopen later on Thunderbird it gives me a message that I have unsent message. I don't see any attempt to send the message, notification, progression bar, etc. Using Mail for MacOS, and the same Gmail account, the email with the same attachment (18Mb) can be sent without problems. What's wrong with Thunderbird?

Why is my thunderbird system stopping all the time and not responding instantaneously upon request I am deleting emails in trash and it locks up on me . Also is there a method of deleting many old emails all at once ?Right now I have to delete each one at a time,my finger is getting tired LOL .I am old school so please be patient with me . I am all over the map geopolitically and am concerned that I might be on a watch list ,maybe creating mayham for me.I do have ESET virus protection.

My drafts folder on Thunderbird has gone blank. I cannot access them and the contents are not visible. When creating an email, its saying it cannot save the draft either, yet the number of drafts keeps increasing. Any assistance with this is most welcome!

After updating my Monzilla Thunderbird program all my mail "sending" would not work. Not any of the 3 providers. In-coming was fine, but out-going did not work. I got an error of VO1 and comments about sending spam. Prior to the update, all worked fine.

Shut my VPN off, AV and Firewall not changed. Note: I build my own computers, made gaming systems, have my own home server, and more.... so despite being nearly 70 years, been around computers since the Altair days.

After the update.... spent some time pulling my hair out trying to resolve this problem. I am running Windows 10 Pro (latest updates) with 32GB RAM and all the normal crap.... computer works fine.

Resolve: What i found was when the "scroll lock" button was (ON), I guess I accidentally hit the button, my Monzilla TB mail would not send, only receive. THIS IS CRAZY !!! Anyway, after turning "off" or disable the Scroll Lock key on my keyboard.... Monzilla mail worked again sending normally.

This one is for the Birds... but it fixed my problem. I am not a programmer, only end user and reporting what happened to me.

My Thunderbird does not seem to want to download messages from frontier.com today. It is using the same e-mail address and password that it has used for years without any problems (including through yesterday), and I have not changed them. It says that the host is contacted and it is sending login information, and nothing more happens. I can reach frontier.com directly by Mozilla (or Safari on my iPad), but Thunderbird seems to have gone dead. What can I do?

Hello,

I am trying to open the Thuderbird app on my Windows desktop PC, however I keep getting the following error message before the program even opens:

``Thunderbird is already running, but is not responding. The old Thunderbird process must be closed to open a new window.``

I have tried closing the background processes using alt, ctrl, delete. I also tried uninstalling, and then reinstalling the Thunderbird app from the setup file. I`ve also tried deleting the setup file, and installing it again fresh from the website.

Every time, the same error message appears and I cannot open it.

How can I solve this problem?

I've been using Netscape since running W-93, when they called it "Navigator".

A couple of months ago incoming mail stopped, and kept popping up "unable to connect to mail.twc.com".  Also unable to send mail. Tried 7 or 8 other free mail servers but unable to get them to work - I'm 73 and mentally slowing down so not all that tech savvy.
 Can connect directly to https://webmail.spectrum.net/mail/auth but only get a few msg. at a time and it's painfully slow.  Wont allow me to send - can only reply.
Have checked settings; SMTP, POP, and all that as well as re-installed TB to no avail

Hi everyone... can you give me some ideas of what kinds of things I should be looking for that might be causing frequent "lockups" in Tbird? I see it only when I'm trying to get something done, obviously, like composing an email or replying to one, for the most part, but also when trying to work my way up the new emails (I generally read them from oldest to newest.) I'll hit delete, and nothing happens, and there's no response to mouse or keyboard input. Most often, it just stops responding while I'm typing. I'm a touch-typist, and when I look up to check for errors, the thing is frozen at a line previous, then it suddenly fills in what I typed while it wasn't responding.

I'm running version 102.10.0, and Linux Mint 21.1 as my O.S. I know there's a .json file that would give a lot of info about Tbird, but I don't know which one it is... let me know and I'll post it, if it's needed.

I just migrated from Windows 10 to Linux exclusively... had it with Windows nonsense. Tbird ran flawlessly at first, but the lockup issue is happening more frequently with time/use.

Any ideas of what might be a likely culprit would be greatly appreciated!

We are using Thunderbird as our mail software and have for years. We have also donated regularly to Mozilla. We are using Thunderbird both on MacOs Monterey and Windows 10.

We can restart Thunderbird and it will open instantly and we can continue using it until next crash. We use English and Icelandic dictionaries. Else we use just Addon Compatibility Check extension.

We can't imagine why this is happening. We like Tunderbird and we do use folders and subfolders for sorting our emails. We have gone through "Repair folder" on all the folders we use.

We need to find out what is causing this steadily crashes or another email software with the hope that we can work without this daily problem.

Looking forward to your reply at your earliest.

The Inbox of my main email account has suddenly refused to display anything at all. In fact, the left panel shows no messages at all. The inbox file size is 8GB (although I don't know why. The file size for the associated junk file is 1GB even though I clear that out daily). I thought I had backed up my profile folder but, alas, for some reason my backup program shows no backup at all. All other subfolders under that email address can be accessed and displayed just fine. Only the Inbox is a problem.

I have tried the "Repair Folder" option under Inbox Properties, but that did not help. The messages are clearly there. Is there any hope for recovery?
