My Thunderbird was apparently automatically upgraded recently--at least the icon has changed somewhat. Now the "filter" option on my list of emails doesn't work the way it used to. I typically look at emails from people in my address books first by using the "Contacts" filter, but that no longer does anything. The "Unread Messages" filter also doesn't do anything. I really rely on the Contacts filter--hope someone can help. I did shut down and restart the computer, which didn't help; I don't really know how to reload Thunderbird (fairly clueless--won't understand a very technical answer).

Every once in a while a complete series of incoming emails has nothing in the body. I click any recent 'good' email. Perhaps the subject is "XYZ". Clicking any of the 'bad' emails will show the good email's From, To, and subject of "XYZ". It seems to last for, maybe 20 incoming emails, then the issue stops. It has happened several times over the last year. If I go out to Xfinity the same emails do not have this issue. How do I fix this?

How do I correct my serious error (when tired) in allowing a Thunderbird 'Upgrade' 115.2.2 (32 Bit) Supernova to install on my Laptop (Windows 10 Home, 64 Bit). I failed to read the Release Notes by trusting Mozilla wouldn't issue such a drastic change without Warnings as it was not just an 'Upgrade'! It has screwed up my Set up, Folders etc., completely changed layout, can't find 'Write Message' tab etc. etc . etc.

The previous Thunderbird Version had many problems further introduced by 'Upgrades' but was at least still had continuity with earlier Versions with a functional MMI (man machine interface) instead of all the changes introduced with the 115.2.2, which in my opinion should be withdrawn completely. N.B My experience in Systems Control, as an Air Traffic Control Engineer, we would throw this out as not fit for purpose.

Help Please and explain how can I revert back to an Earlier Version?

Hello all, I have the following problem with printing attachments in Thunderbird. For some attachments, it only displays 'save as PDF', even though I print without any problems in other programs. I think the problem started after updating TH to 102.15.0, I'm currently on 115.2.2. When this problem occurs in TH, I cannot print from other programs either, it does not display printers (Word, Adobe reader, Notepad). Messages to install the printer are displayed. When I reset the computer, all programs (except TH) print normally, until TH hangs with an attachment (interestingly, TH displays printers with a few attachments and suddenly stops with a random one). I uninstalled all printer drivers and TH itself, reset the print settings in TH, then installed TH and one printer, nothing helped. I can't go back to an older version of TH because after copying the profile files, TH won't start. I guess maybe a format would help, but I don't want to do it this way and I'm asking for some solutions. Thank you very much in advance!

Some messages not being marked as read when viewed in preview pane

When viewing e-mail in the lower-right (Preview?) panel, some are marked as read immediately and others take longer or don't get marked as read at all. I opened the Error Console and I see some recurring errors:

  1. NS_ERROR_CONTENT_BLOCKED from FaviconLoader.jsm:580:19
  2. TypeError: accounts.filter(...)[0].identities[0] is undefined from " background.js:631:27"

Are these related? How can I get rid of them so I have a clean error console?

The "identities" error happens whether or not I have an identify set for the account and whether or not Folder Accounts extension is activated on not. I have tried disabling all extensions (Cardbook, FolderAccount, QuickFilters, QuickFolders, Remove Duplicate Messages) but it still occurs on some specific messages. After restarting Thunderbird, the NS_ERROR_CONTENT_BLOCKED still occured but the Identities error stopped.

I turned on the extensions one-by-one and the Identities error came back and the CONTENT error remained.

When I select a large number of messages in my Inbox and move them to a different folder, only a subset of the selected messages get moved.

Procedure: I select a message, scroll backwards in the message list by several months, then shift-click another message, causing all messages between those two to also be selected. Then I either left-click and drag the messages to another folder, or right-click and Move To a different folder. Initially, all the messages disappear from my Inbox, giving the appearance that they all have moved to the folder, but one by one, many of the messages reappear in Inbox.

The folder is not a local folder--It's a folder on the server. It seems that the number of messages that successfully move is limited to about 200 messages, but it varies. For example, I selected and moved 211 messages, but when they finished moving, 17 messages returned to the Inbox. The messages that returned are not in the folder that I moved the messages to -- They either didn't move, or they moved and then returned to Inbox.

I'm using Thunderbird 115.1.1 with an IMAP Yahoo mail account.

Other people had this problem in 2022, but my problem seems to be a little bit different.

When I click "Get Messages" in Thunderbird for my Yahoo mail account, it now opens a new window (with URL s.yimg.com/...) in which Yahoo tells me to enter my credentials. My user name is already populated. When I click "Next", it says "Please enable cookies in your browser and sign in again."

The problem is that I'm running Thunderbird, not a browser, so there shouldn't be any cookies, and if I run Firefox, cookies already *are* enabled, and even if I log in to Yahoo mail in Firefox, Thunderbird still gives me the same message. I can't log in to my Yahoo mail from Thunderbird anymore. This occurred for the first time today. Thunderbird is at version 102.14.0, and I believe it just updated to that version last night.

Just installed the 115.2.0 64-bit update on Thunderbird. Now, whenever I move an email to a folder, the inbox contents to the right of the folder pane automatically scrolls the next unread email to the top of the page. The causes me to have to scroll to get to the last email i was actually looking at. How do I stop this from occurring?

My father has used Thunderbird for 3 years fine. 10 days ago, the printing went wrong.

The only printer visible is Print to pdf - the local printer is not an option.

Also, once he opens Thunderbird, the printer function on Excel and Word vanishes; i.e. befofe he opens Thunderbird, he can print from Excel and Word; right after he opens Thunderbird, 'No printer installed' is the message on those programmes.

Can anyone please explain why, and give a solution?

He has version 102.15.1 on Windows 11.

since Saturday, 9th Sept. 2023, ca. 14:00 GMT my Thunderbirds are producing error messages.

I have added four different outlook.com email-accounts, each with IMAP+TLS+OAuth2 as incoming server and SMTP+STARTTLS+OAuth2 as outgoing server configuration. The error messages are only regarding these outlook.com-accounts. A gmail.com-account with the same settings is not affected.

I encounter constantly popups with the following error messages: - "...user ist authenticated but not connected" - "the server is offline" - something like "authentification error while connecting to server outlook.office365.com"

Also the Page where i should enter the password to create the OAuth-Token keeps opening and closing before it could load completely.

The most astounding thing is, the synchroniziation seems to work nonetheless. It's just the messages that annoy me.

Here is an entry from the Thunderbird error-log: "mailnews.oauth: Error response from the authorization server: invalid_grant; AADSTS50196: The server terminated an operation because it encountered a client request loop. Please contact your app vendor. (...) https://login.microsoftonline.com/error?code=50196"

The problem occured more or less suddenly on 3 different PCs: - Two Windows 10 Pro 22H2 machines with the Thunderbird versions 115.2.0 and 115.2.1 - A Fedora Linux machine where Thunderbird 115.2.0 is installed via Flatpak

What I already tried with no success: - De- and reinstalling Thunderbird with deleting _all_ user Data - Upgrading Thunderbird from 115.2.0 to 115.2.1 - Revoking the access for the Thunderbird-app in the Microsoft.com account OAuth-Settings and granting it again when creating a new token by logging in with Thunderbird

What my inquiry has delivered yet: - Thunderbird seems to have problems to remember the OAuth-Tokens. When I look in the privacy settings at the saved passwords I can see that the passwort seems to change constantly. In contrast, the Google-gmail.com-account keeps the same passwort. - It seems to be especially triggered by closing thunderbird and opening it again shortly afterwards, though it does happen without doing so too. - The error messages pop up and the password-page opens mostly when I click on a folder (presumably because Thunderbird is trying to sync it then)

My accounts seem to be fine. I have no problems accessing them with OAuth2 via K-9 Mail on my Android 13 phone. I can also log in via the Web Interface.

I have been using flatpak Thunderbird on Linux (PoP!_OS) for some time with no problems, but since the update to 115, Thunderbird regularly freezes with a "Thunderbird not responding" message, and I need to force close the app. Creating an event with the calendar was guaranteed to cause a freeze.

After a complete uninstall with `flatpak uninstall --delete-data Thunderbird` and adding back my mail account, Thunderbird now freezes instantly at launch and is completely unusable.

Any help to solve this would be appreciated.
