Greetings! MS Defender found a trojan (TrojanDownloader:Win32/Nemucod!ml) in my profiles. A family member let Defender "remove" it, while I would've left it alone and then come here to isolate it or somehow bottle it up.

My questions are this. Was this from an email stored in Thunderbird, or was it from something one of my kids opened up? And second, I'm guessing Defender did damage in removing it and my Tbird is now corrupt. If it is, should I do a back up emails, remove the program and re-install? Could this have been a false positive?

Recently sorted my three e-mail accounts from a personal domain, AOL/Verizon and Google with Thunderbird (TB) including the Google Address Book. The address book is working find as are all of the folders except for AOL's Spam folder. When logged onto mail.aol.com there is a folder named Spam, but in Thunderbird there is a folder named Junk.

Syncing of the Inbox, Drafts (Draft in TB), Sent, Archive, and Trash folders all appear to be working fine, only the Spam (Junk in TB) folder is an issue. Syncing (Synchronization & Storage -> Advanced...) is enabled for all folders in the AOL/Verizon account. The Junk folder in TB can not be renamed or deleted.

Thunderbird does occasionally through and error when attempting to modify the Junk folder, but it does not seem to appear in the Error Console. It appears as a Windows notice, but can't be found in notifications. If I knew how to capture the error, I would gladly try to recreate the error and capture it.

"The message could not be sent because connecting to Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.comcast.net failed. The server may be unavailable or is refusing SMTP connections. Please verify that your Outgoing server (SMTP) settings are correct and try again"

Then My wife told me she received an email from them a few days ago about 3rd party email apps. I never received this for the main Xfinity account. Go figure.

I am experiencing consonant and repeated slowness with Thunderbird for multiple months now. I will be typing an email message and then I will see the circle and then a message that Thunderbird is not responding. Sometimes when I get access again the email message window will have lost focus. While trying to execute spell checking it again is unresponsive. I thought perhaps that the calendar was causing the issue but closing that tab did nothing to relieve the slowness. I have four processes of Thunderbird running and I am running Windows 11 Pro. I have the current version of Thunderbird installed. I have using Thunderbird for many years now and the constant unresponsiveness is extremely irritating. This also happens when Thunderbird is preparing to display reminders. I appreciate your assistance. Thank you.

Hello, someone solve this problem ? I can't setup new account in Thunderbird 102.4.1 . I have 3 active IMAP account on my Thunderbird and when i want to set a new IMAP account the Thunderbird will stay in "Checking password". IF i press the cancel and i want to add again the messages is "Incoming server already exist" I found this problem to more users which are using this version of Thunderbird. On the other PC i uninstalled this version and i reinstall another older version and everything is ok. On my pc i don't want to uninstall thunderbird because i have a lot of email structured and configuration. I attached a screenshot with this error.

In the new Thunderbird 112.0 Beta 3, I can't scroll through my Message Filters.

If I click on Tools, then Message Filters, then select the pull down (Filter for:) and select Local Folders, I get no scroll bar. Since the first filter is selected, I can scroll with the arrow keys, BUT, the list does not move at all.

It is list the window is the full size of the list. Shrinking the window down and maximizing it makes no difference.

Any ideas?

Hello, I just got some issues with Thunderbird: As I opened it, everything was gone and it showed the Account setup page, as if I had just installed it. So the whole server configuration was gone, but somehow the passwords were still available (in settings/security/passwords) Then I checked the profile folder in the debugging information, and it is still there, with all the data, but TB seems to be unable to access it. I just can't could have happen here, because it was all of a sudden, and nothing that could have caused this issue. Update to v102 was working well, and there was no crash. So has somebody any idea what could have happened, and what to do to fix this issue?

Hi there,

since a couple of releases since I installed thunderbird on my MacBook, I got the problem that the counter displays 99+ unread messages when everything is read. It only transforms to a no red dot icon when I have 3 unread messages across my accounts, and then if more come in starts to count up. I waited thinking it's just a bug on one release (as it suddenly started doing it after an update, but I don't remember what version that was) but after receiving the newest update (Version 102.9.1 (64-Bit)) it is still not fixed.

I have tried changing the system settings for the icon (disabling this red dot and then turning it back on) but it didn't work.

Any other suggestions?

Thunderbird has become unusable for me with the latest update on March 28th. It takes about 10-20 seconds to respond to clicks to delete emails. As you can guess, this makes it impossible to work with and I've had to switch to Outlook.

Whatever the issue is with this change, it needs to be resolved.

I'm unable to find away to revert back to the older version. Is there a link to older versions?

The concept of threading is great, but sometimes I cannot see any reason why an email has been threaded the way it has. I can't really understand the rules it uses. When I am simply moving a reply or forwarded email from Sent Mail to Inbox it usually works great but if it has gone wrong I want to be able to unthread it. An email which has been wrongly threaded can seem to disappear. When I have found it I may want to isolate it or put it in a different thread.

Thursday both Thunderbird and Fire fox suddenly stopped working with a message that they were no responding. I closed the windows and tried to bring them back in. The response was

Thunderbird is already running, but is not responding. The old Thunderbird process must be closed to open a new window. I cancelled and looked at the task manager which indicated that thunderbird was not there. After another try I did a conputer restart and finally a shutdown , unplug and restart with the same result.

I I refreshed thunderbird, no luck. I deleted and reinstalled Thunderbird, still no go. ( I was doing the same thing with Firefox. I had to go out of town for 2 days and Firefox has healed itself but thunderbird still doesn't work. HELP!

I'll be looking for emails on my phone, I don't want to use a different email on my desktop.

Previously if we crafted an HTML email we could use the @media print CSS section to force a page break before or after an element. With Thunderbird 102.9.0 the CSS for forcing a page break is being ignored in HTML emails.

If I save the message source as an HTML file and open it in Firefox the print preview shows the correct page breaks, but in Thunderbird the content all runs together.
