How can I turn off the threading of my emails? Its driving me crazy as when an email comes in after a short time it disappears into the threads and then I have to open each thread to find out who sent the email. At one stage there were 6 emails noted near the inbox but no new unthreaded message, all went to respective threads. Very time wasting.

Scheduled send is a prominent feature of nearly every online email client. I don't understand why Thunderbird, the most fully featured desktop email client doesn't offer scheduled send and has to rely on a third party add on to offer this feature? Thanks for your help!

Thunderbird's most annoying problem - by default all email strings are sorted by threading which causes many problems as all the users who have contributed to this issue in many blog threads have said. I am using the latest now - ver 115.9.0 (windows) and i know how to manually change a folder's contents to sort by unthreaded but i have literally hundreds of folders in my thunderbird and to change each on the fly would take hours. Is there NO way to change the default for existing folders to sort by unthreaded? It seems like this would be a simple setting to have included in thunderbird. In Thunderbird 115.5.0 (64-bit) when you have collapsed threads enabled I have seen the software indicate there are say 8 unread messages. There are no bolded messages in the message panel. If you click on the READ status column you still can not see the unread messages. The only way is to uncollapse the threads and scroll down the message pane to see the bolded messages in each thread. Why?

If the threads are collapsed how are we supposed to find unread messages?

Hello, In the latest THUNDERBIRD, I cannot sort incoming emails into unread because the program shows a cascade of the first thread to the last one, and I want to see only the last unread message from a given thread, as in the old program. how to turn it off?

When I receive an email and I hit reply and the original body of the incoming email disappears. I need help with the settings to have the original email included in the reply. Thanks, Garry

I may be missing something, but how can I remove threading completely from Thunderbird or how can I download an older version. I"ve searched for 102.15, but cannot find a way to download it. I really prefer NOT to use another email client. I've always used Thunderbird, but I cannot tolerate this threading thing and I can't seem to disable it.

I'm looking to move over from Apple Mail as it's choking on the amount of email I have.

So far, it's pretty great, but Apple Mail offers a smart folder strategy that I've found really useful.

I have 4 smart folders that span all the accounts I use. They mail that has come in:

• Today
• Yesterday
• This Week
• Last Week

Apple Mail has built-in terms for these, and the week views always start on Monday, so it's not just counting days.

Is there any way to get Thunderbird to do this?

Having waited until some of the most valuable Thunderbird addons were updated for 115, I have now updated to the latest version of Tbird.

I had previously set up userchrome.css to show gridlines between columns and under each message in the Message pane, thus avoiding having a lot of messages just sitting in a white "unanchored" space. Of course, the old css doesn't work in 115.

Has anyone worked out how to get back the gridlines here, either in css or some other method?

Planning to both create a new email, and switch to Thunderbird. One thing I don't want to set up my email with, is with google services, so I was curious if I could get an email almost like 'example@thunderbird.com' Is this possible?

I've read some articles about this but I can't find what they're talking about. What is the message header? I'm not sure when this started but I don't like it, it's confusing about what message I'm reading or discussing. I only want to see one message at a time and I can't seem to change the setting.

My Thunderbird emails are fine directly on my laptop, but when I attach an external monitor everything becomes to pixelated I cannot easily read my email If I restart Thunderbird in Troubleshoot Mode with no addons or themes, it gets much better, but I use the add ons!

All of a sudden, when I create a new email or respond to one, the "send button" disappeared. I tried right clicking the menu bar at the top of the email screen and it takes me to the customize screen but the button for send is missing. Where is it?

I use Thunderbird in full screen mode on a high resolution monitor. I keep overlooking attachments because the tiny paperclip and the tiny link to the attachment at the bottom of the screen are too easy to miss. A more obvious visual cue is needed. Perhaps display the paperclip in a contrasting color and move the attachment link to just below the message header instead of putting it at the very bottom of the screen so far from the message body? Up to now this was just an inconvenience, but today it actually cost me $50 because of an attached notice I missed even though I had read the email several times.

Does anybody know if there are plans to give TBird the ability to sync across various devices like we can with Firefox and Outlook? If so , any idea of a timetable/ Thanks Chris

I've used Unified Folders for a couple years. Just added a new account doing some migration and testing. I don't want this mixed in with other accounts but Thunderbird is putting in the Unified Folders. Seems easy enough, find unified folder list and remove it. I can't find this anywhere.

Help and community posts searched, I see lots of pull up properties suggestions and click "choose" which everyone votes down cause this doesn't exit. Is this here somewhere and I just can't find it ? or is this post 115 problem ?

This is pretty much means I can't use thunderbird for any account unless I want to mix it in with my key email accounts. This is kind of unacceptable. I can't imagine handling email without Thunderbird. any help greatly appreciated.

Hi everyone. I am a Thunderbird user since it was first introduced way back when... I just migrated all my info from my trusty Windows 7 to a new Windows 10 machine and installed the latest version of Tbird. I have several accounts in my Tbird list. None of them are set to automatically download emails from the server. In my previous Tbird version, I used to be able to click on the name of an account and then (at the top of the screen) "Get messages" and it would only get messages for that particular account. Now it downloads the emails for all my accounts which I do not want. How can I change it to only get messages for the account I have clicked on in the accounts list ?

My second question concerns the font and size of the messages in the right hand pane. i.e. when I click on a particular account's "Inbox" on the left, I see a list of the emails received on the right, but the font is too small and is not the font I used to have on my Windows 7 (Arial). I have played around with the Windows settings but it has not changed anything in Tbird. So how do I change the display font and size in Tbird ? (NOT the font used to write emails)

Hi, I just paid a computer tech good money to get back an older version - that i liked. The new version was 115.3.3 (64-bit) and I spend time to look on the internet to download old version of Thunderbird. the old version that worked on my MAC was 91.13.1 (64-bit)

I even brought back the older friendly bird icon. The new one looks mean as if it could peck your eyes out!

Formerly I could decide the window size for the number of minimum visible received emails in the list down to 3. But for any reason the minimum now is 10. Which does that the space for text content is reduced a lot. How can I get back the former possibility?
