As of today Cox is moving all email services to Yahoo. I have been using Thunderbird for Cox.net email. I have about 40 existing folders under cox.net. Yahoo now has Cox.… (Lesen Sie mehr)

As of today Cox is moving all email services to Yahoo. I have been using Thunderbird for Cox.net email. I have about 40 existing folders under cox.net. Yahoo now has Cox.net and is providing my new emails so I still have the same email address and can access it through webmail. What is the best way to transition this from the old Cox cox.net to the new Yahoo cox.net on Thunderbird and keep all existing folders? Thank You

I have 4 accounts with different names but all with the same domain name (name1@samedomain.com, name2@samedomain.com ...). The first one set up perfectly and works. The 2nd and the 3rd can't retrieve mail from the server (didn't try the 4th yet). The SSL ports are the same for all. The passwords happen to be the same for all. (I haven't tried changing the 2nd and 3rd passwords as that seems unlikely to be the problem.) When initially setting up the 2nd or the 3rd I get a "Sending of password for user name2@samedomain.com did not succeed. Mail server pop.yyy.zzz responded: [AUTH Authentification failed." I've checked the passwords on both the client and the server ends multiple times and they are the same. Then, of course, periodically I get a pop-up with "Login to server pop.xxx.yyy with username name2@samedomain.com failed. When I go to the Account Settings screen with the 3 accounts and click on each Server Settings one after another, the only thing that changes is the User Name, yet the first account receives mail and the other 2 don't so everything is correctly set up. As an aside, I CAN SEND emails from the 2nd and 3rd accounts but can only RECEIVE and SEND from the 1st. Any help appreciated.

Running 115.5.0 and want to export my contact list to be able to use it in a spreadsheet. The export function in the Tools dropdown only allows for export of "accounts, messages, address books and settings to a ZIP file." What happened to the ability to export just the address book separately to a csv file? Please help. Thank you.

Hi. I have tried to set up my gmail email addresses in Thunderbird without success. When I reach the end of the process I get a window asking me to log into gmail but when I try to do that I get an error message. I have tried some of the fixes. Not entering my password, turning off 2 factor authentication, manual set up, but I still get the error message. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Close down freezes

After updating to Thunderbird 115.10.0 (64-bit) the Exit freezes. I have to kill the app in Task manager every time I want to exit Thunderbird.

Give that I use TB as my desktop client to access my nyu.edu email (provided by google), and that recently I updated my password as periodically requested by nyu admin When I try to access nyu email a pop up screen come up asking to authenticate with imap.gmail.com. I click next and get a 403 Access Forbidden error (Authentication failure while connecting to server imap.gmail.com.)

Solutions I have tried: 1. Clear cookies, history and cache on browsers and TB; 2. Changed default browsers (Ffox, Ch, Edge); 3. Deleted account in TB and created it again using instructions here https://www.nyu.edu/servicelink/KB0016473 4. Accessed my nyu email on browser to check user name and password. It works. I can access the email.

Nothing seems to work. Still get 403 error. As a result I am unable to authenticate and hence use the email account in TB.

Error: Import Failed Unexpectedly

Sadly, my old Windows 10 PC crashed, and I'm migrating to a new computer. I have a backup of the old default profile folder (9k7faw1z.default), but not of the entire Profiles folder. I have tried to import this old default profile using the import function in my new Thunderbird install on my new Windows 11 computer.

Alas, I get the error message "Import failed unexpectedly; more information may be available in the Error Console." I looked in the error console, and it's empty.

Is there a better way to import my old data from my old default profile folder? It's 3GB of valuable data and I'll be in a pickle if I can't access it.

Hello There all So I recently installed Win11 and Tbird 115.7.0

My issue is this: When I double click a PDF in a received email it opens up in my default PDF reader (Foxit) so it's all good. When I'm composing an email and add a PDF I like to check to see that I'm sending the correct PDF attachment so I double click and it won't open, I get this message (Attached Image) I went to Tools/Settings/General/Files&Attachments and PDF (Foxit) is set as the default so all good

So again Inbox messages opens PDF's no problem Composing messages won't open PDF's

I used to do this all the time on Win10 and it worked perfectly See my settings in image 2 Thanks In Advance :-)

I have been using T-bird as my email client for years. Just now, a new screen pops up with this message: "an error occurred during connection to localhost". I have 2 email accounts that I use with T-bird. The one is with comcast; it is the account that comes up with the error message. The other account is with Breezeline, and it appears to be unaffected. However, and this is the problem, I cannot send or receive email from either account. I am going to try to send both a hard copy of the error message, and the data from the T-bird program that I am using. Your help is appreciated. Thanks

Dear sir, madam, I have a Thunderbird account. I have access to it and to the menu, but I have to put a password in to receive my new emails. I don't know my password and have tried really everything that is suggested on your website to get my password, renew it, access a reboot-option etc: nothing works - I still keep getting a window where I am asked to put in the password for my account. In my Windows PC, after changing my existing Email account's password, Thunderbird stops working. It prompted for new login password but fails after giving new password. I reinstalled Thunderbird, but same issue happening while I going to set my Email account with the new password. Before reinstalling, I also deleted thunderbird history from windows registry and local folders. I also try by deleing 'Saved Passwords' option. Email account only created by the old password only.

Please help.

With the moving of Cox emails to Yahoo would it be feasible for Thunderbird to put an instruction list(with screenshots) of how to get all our TB email accounts from Cox to TB? Do we have to delete all our TB email accounts and re-enter them into TB under the new Yahoo or can we just change the server settings on the existing Cox settings? If just changing server settings what are the settings for the new yahoo? All my accounts are IMAP so if instructions could be made, maybe one for IMAP and one for POP for those who use either. I would really like to keep all my received emails and replies to be in the same (inbox) window?

Example: I open a message a window opens with the message. I read the message, when I reply it opens ANOTHER window (can't stand this).

Is there way to keep all the messages linear? And not have multiple windows open?
