hello. i just added two emails to our thunderbird email program: jfreilich@live.com and slederer@live.com. i keep getting this message: Login to server outlook.office365.com with username jfreilich@live.com failed. and no matter which password i enter i continue to get rejected...however, if i hit cancel then the mail comes through. rather funky. any idea what's up? this is the first time we are using an imap rather than the pop3. we do have two other emails on thunderbird that uses pop3 without any issues. appreciate your help as i fear i am loosing emails but definitely they are being greatly delayed and not downloaded automatically.

My Archives stopped taking emails on 12/31/23 and a 2024 folder did not appear. In the past a folder for the current year automatically appeared. This has happened on multiple accounts. I am using 115.64.1 64-bit.

I run Thunderbird 115.6.1 on a Mac OS 14.1.2 with 2 POP email accounts and 3 IMAP Gmail accounts. One active POP account had a large number of emails going back several years. Suddenly I noticed all but emails received in the past 3 hours had headers only, no data or attachments. My other email accounts were fine. Of course when I did a repair on that email account, the headers all disappeared as well, leaving me with only the latest 3 hours of emails and a lot of missing emails and attachments. What is the best way to recover the missing emails? If the data still exists on the hard drive how can I find it and can it be re-indexed? How can I restore the data file from one of my backups? If I get it restored, can I merge the emails received between the time of the data loss to the current emails, with the recovered data? Is there an email recovery program to handle this? For several days leading up to the data / index file failure I noticed that Thunderbird, when processing that one large email account was taking a lot of time to do simple tasks, likely spending a lot of time trying to figure out the index chains.

Hi up until today, when I opened Thunderbird, I would get a dialogue box asking for my account and password, I've never saved my password.
Today that dialogue box does not show up, and while it shows connected, I can not send or receive emails.
One day i noticed about 500 messages were gone from sent folder I looked for filters but do not see any. Is there any way to get sent messages back? Rudi

I downloaded thunderbird to my PC w/windows 11 and was successful in connecting to the ISP server. I am receiving emails, but it will not connect to send emails. The smtp settings and port seem correct. I am exploring Outlook alternatives, since the "New Outlook" will not work and Microsoft can;t seem to be able to fix it yet. My ISP is Consolidated Communications and am using their Webmail currently.

I don't know if this is a Thunderbird problem or Windstream server problem. About half the time it will load immediately. It often will load all of the email and then flash up a message that I need to retry or ask for a new password even though the email just downloaded from the server. This started about a week ago. No change in software versions.

When I delete emails form my inbox they are not going to my "Deleted" box. The Server settings are correct directing them to the "Deleted" box. When I do a "Move To" the Deleted box they are appearing there. My email is a Gmail account and when accessed via Gmail the deleted emails show in the Deleted box.
This seems to have started happening after the update on 11th Jan 2024. I am on V 115.6.1
Any suggestions? Thanks
