SHORT VERSION: Is it possible to make hunderbird show me, in the main window, that there is a tagged email ALSO inside a subfolder? EXPLANATION I am trying to be tidy and organised in my work emails with Thunderbird ;) Therefore I BOTH divide emails in subfolders AND flag the emails I have to postprocess but I don't have time right when I receive them. BUT I STILL HAVE TO POSTPROCESS THEM!!! However, if a flagged email is in a subfolder, Thunderbird doesn't show me that is flagged. In other words, if I want to see if there are unprocessed emails, I would have to enter each subfolder (which I don't do - so I don't postprocess the email! (angel) )

I import my local folders from my NAS unit, My Documents/mail.

The folder headings are all there, but there is no content when I click on the headings?

This does not happen in the windows 10 version?

Seeking tutorials on the rules necessary to create good looking tables in an email. such as: Can Cells be selected and combined (like in a spreadsheet) Where are any good tutorials about creating tables, etc.

I was wondering if it is possible to make the open folder of emails on the right and then the view of the emails on the right? I have it set up on "Vertical" layout and would like all of the messages to be on the right hand side of the screen, but the view of the message in the middle between "all folders" and the open message

When I right click on the menu bar and choose "customize" there is a "button style" selection at the bottom of the page where one can choose to display "icons beside text", "icons above text", "icons only" or "text only" but regardless of what option I select, I only get text. I believe it was was working properly when I first updated to 115.4.1 but then quit.

I've tried uninstalling and re-installing Thunderbird to no avail. How can I get it working properly?

I'm missing the the possibility to delete Messages on one of my clients and leave it on the server. I'm using Thunderbird on my desktop, mostly to save my important emails. Therefore I have installed some filters to delete unimportant mails like newsletter, noreplay@... e.g... Unfortunately I'm not able to read these mails even more on my other client like my mobile. In an older version of Thunderbird was a checkbox for "leave it on the server".. in the latest version this box is gone. Who can help me?

I would like to change the font size of the entries in my Messages pane. Changing it with View>Font Size changes everything, and this uses way too much space in the Folder and Message Detail panes. If you compare the defaults prior to the latest update to what 115.4.1 has you will see what I mean. Tried to find something in ConfigEditor but didn't see anything. Thanks

I see a lot of questions about the missing tag and write buttons, but I don't see any answers. I have the same questions. Where did they go? How to get them back. How do I "reply" to an email. I wish I had not updated. It definitely did not get better.

Can you set up an email address to receive only/block sending from it? I have two addresses defined in Thunderbird and if I don't check, it occasionally picks up the one I don't want to send from.

I used to be able to see the number/count of new messages and old messages in all of my message folders. There seems to have been an update, and all of my numbers are missing. Can you tell me how to fix this please.

Supernova 115 - I prefer the Quick Filter Search box (Ctrl+Shift+K) than the Global Search box (Ctrl+K) because it is easy to find messages.

Can anyone help to replace the Global Search box (Ctrl+K) by Quick Filter Search box (Ctrl+Shift+K) on mail Toolbar.

Windows 10 Thunderbird 115.4.2 (64 bit) Following the recent update, the Write icon has vanished. I can see it in Customise -Toolbars but can't do anything about it. I know there is a keyboard shortcut to get this done but I want my icon back please! Many thanks Howard

I recently updated to 115.4.1 and now any emails that are multiple responses shows up in my inbox with a > beside it. When I try to open the email, it opens multiple windows, each with one of the emails in the chain. How do I get back to only opening one at a time and getting rid of the >?

I have been using Thunderbird for many years, and really like it - until two recent updates (sorry!). I am running Ubuntu 22.04, and Thunderbird 115.4.1. One now has a column taken on the left which is unnecessary, and a section at the top which is above the menus with e.g. File... but I would like my File menu at the top, as it used to be. The second issue is more frustrating - the search facility, where one can find the emails being sought, allows me to search by many options, and I was able to display the results sorted by subject, size or my normal was by date, but I never use the message threads as that is rarely of interest, and I can sort on that using the message subject if needed. Now, when I search the results are ONLY in the message threads, and if I try to sort by date, I lose all information, and the ONLY option is to see the messages by thread which is no use to me! How can I restore good old Thunderbird - the version I enjoy using (or have the functionality I had restored)?! Many thanks,

I would like to change the density for the messages list (thread row) and provide a custom value there. e.g. 40px;

In many places, people are showing a solution such as:

But it doesn't work properly. When there are a lot of messages and you start scrolling, then the scroll stops working properly, you can't select messages, the whole thing goes crazy. This is the case on Windows, perhaps on Linux there is not this problem (I do not know).

I tried to use `line-height` instead of `height`, unfortunately the problem still occurs.
