This is the message I get when trying to send emails: "Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: pgbentley101@gmail.com recipient rejected. Please check the message recipient "pgbentley101@gmail.com" and try again."

Title. Thunderbird is a really cool client but it's pretty slow. I blame that on the thousands upon thousands of emails that my hotmail and gmail each hold. I don't necessarily want to delete these emails, but I have seldom a reason to have any email older than 2 months in my thunderbird client slowing and crashing the program whenever I want to combine inboxes.

To this end I went to "Synchronization & Storage" and told it to "Synchronize the most recent 2 months" but it didn't delete the huge cluster of older emails. The next option is to tell TB to delete these emails in the same menu but as I understand it that would also delete them in the server, which I don't want to do for posteriority.

What do I do?

I normally have the full list of folders on the left pane of my window, and then in the right side I have the list of emails in the upper pane and the email preview in the lower pane. This worked fine in the previous release. With 115, when I display a message preview, the left side of the email header is cropped, so I can't see the whole sender email address unless I expand the preview pane to the full possible width. The looks like a bug to me, I think the email header should always be visible from the left, and cropped on the right if the pane isn't large enough. Aside from making the font size unreadably small, is there a fix for this?

I have tried multiple suggestions from the help site. Still cannot get Thunderbird to accept settings -

Can anyone tell me how to blacklist incoming emails from selected addresses?

I can get T-bird to send unwanted emails to the "Junk" folder, but there are some that I would prefer not to even show up on my end, but rather delete them before they even get here (Facebook being the prime offender - hundreds of people I have never even heard of sending baby photos, etc.).

I contacted my ISP and was told that I needed to do this from the T-bird end. I cannot find anything in the Support section that addresses this problem. Thank you, Wolfgang

My husband has Thunderbird for his emails. I am trying to set up Thunderbird for my emails. I am not able to get past the point where you must select IMAP or POP3. System seems stuck on "checking password". I've had Microsoft outlook for a long time. I want to set up Thunderbird. We have a home based business. I need my email system up and running. In Thunderbird 115.5.0 (64-bit) when you have collapsed threads enabled I have seen the software indicate there are say 8 unread messages. There are no bolded messages in the message panel. If you click on the READ status column you still can not see the unread messages. The only way is to uncollapse the threads and scroll down the message pane to see the bolded messages in each thread. Why?

If the threads are collapsed how are we supposed to find unread messages?

The first address is sometimes clipped when entered in the "to" field. In the images below, abuse@cogentco.com was entered but the final m was not displayed until I clicked back on the entry. See the attached images...

In old thundebird I had unified folders view. Under Inbox I was able to see all accounts and in main inbox I was able to select which inboxes I want to see.

Now, in supernova under main inboxes I see only those accounts that are selected in main Inbox.

Is it possible to activate old view?

Hello, In the latest THUNDERBIRD, I cannot sort incoming emails into unread because the program shows a cascade of the first thread to the last one, and I want to see only the last unread message from a given thread, as in the old program. how to turn it off?
