I am trying to add a secondary Comcast email account to T-Bird. The primary account was added OK. This is a sub account of the top one.

Note, I have 2 other computers and I was able to add this sub account easily, but that was some years ago.

When I go through the motions of adding my email address and password, when I click "Done" a window pops up with the massage "Secure Connection Failed" The error code is PR_CONNECT_RESET_ERROR.

When setting up the primary account, the little window asked me my password then asked if it was OK for T-Bird to access the account. This was as normal like all the Gmail ones I did.

But it seems this sub account cannot be added.

Any Ideas?

Permanently deleting emails

I am now using Outlook (imap). When I try to permanently delete a bunch of emails it deletes them and then I get a synchronizing inbox bar and the 1,000 or so emails come… (Lesen Sie mehr)

I am now using Outlook (imap). When I try to permanently delete a bunch of emails it deletes them and then I get a synchronizing inbox bar and the 1,000 or so emails come right back into my inbox. How do I avoid this if I am using Thunderbird?

Example: Have 9600 emails delete 2500 and notifies me that they will be permanently deleted but they never are. They just return a few minutes later. Thanks

Somehow, the "auto-BCC" feature in one of my Thunderbird accounts has been activated. How can I disable that? When I open an email now (in my 'in-box'), it automatically fills in "To" and "From" fields. I no longer get my 'in-message' toolbar in the upper right-hand corner of the message window (tab). I also no longer get the notification that "Thunderbird has blocked remote content..." How can I restore this without deleting and rebuilding the account? I'm sure this was mistakenly activated but it needs to go away!!!

On a further note, I have found that if I move a message from my in-box to ANY other folder, I get the normal message view, with all the correct toolbars and indications and controls! Attached are the correct and incorrect screenshot of the same message, just in different folders.

Cannot load RSS feed favicons

As of Supernova update it would seem, thunderbird is unable to fetch favicons for newly added feeds. They will always display a globe favicon, instead of the respectful favicons.

Worse still, it would seem like removing a feed from the folder doesnt revert it to the folder favicon, but rather keeps the globe!

is there a way to force thunderbird to fetch relevant favicons, or add ones manually?

I have a company email account on Office 365. I have to use it and I want to use Thunderbird for it. The account has sso that uses okta.

Thunderbird correctly identifies that the account is available on outlook.office365.com and pops up a window to complete the oauth flow. The oauth window does not display anything. If I copy the url from the window to my browser then I can complete the oauth flow easily. It fails when it ends with a "localhost" url which thunderbird presumably intercepts.

I cannot paste the final URL into thunderbird. I am thus unable to complete the oauth flow.

Black car key shaped 'blob' appearing in PDF preview

Hi folks

When viewing some [not 'all'] PDFs I've created via T'bird's inbult PDF preview on my W10 Desktop PC an annoying black blob in the shape of a car key now appears on the PDF's pages from page 2 onwards. When viewing the same file via an iOS device or inside Dropbox there is no black blob. Also, when viewing the same file via the full Adobe Acrobat APP on my W10 Desktop PC there is no black blob. This black key-shape blob only shows inside T'bird's inbuilt PDF previewer.

I know how to change the preview function inside Tbird to instead open any PDF in Acrobat, but as I quite like the T'bird PDF preview feature does anyone know why these black keys are appearing and how to get rid of them?

Further info: The only PDFs with the black blobs are those created via my W10 Desktop PC's PowerPoint APP's "Save as Adobe PDF" function. There is no such black blob on the PowerPoint pages themselves, and again no blobs appear when viewing the new PDF on any iOS device or within Dropbox. Additonally, and since writing the above lines, I have emailed the PDF to a friend who has opened it on his W10 Laptop and there are NO [again, NONE] black blobs on his screen [he uses Outlook as his email handler]. Thus, I feel certain the problem is within T'bird's PDF preview code.

Is there any fix for this?
