Your site tells me that I have to go to the 'options' tab in order to change my password but there is NO options tab and no matter where I look I cannot find where password are stored or how they can be changed. I have windows 10. I've also tried using thunderbird on a different (windows 7) machine and can't get it to work at all. It's not exactly user friendly is it? I guess if you're a techie and love finding this stuff out then it's great but for a normal non-techie it's pretty hopeless trying to navigate around

Hi I have some questions on downloading Gmails to Thunderbird:

1. Can I simultaneously download 2 or more Gmails to Thunderbird? If yes, how would be the arrangement of emails will be? Will it be mixed together or separated?

2. Is there a limit as to how many Gmails can I download to Thunderbird?

I would be grateful if there is an answer to exporting the Thunderbird address book not in the .csv format into my Win 10 downloads file. I have had a new PC and had a nightmare sorting out my address book. A CSV app restored them but all over the place and have spent hours sorting the name and email addresses. I have tried copy and paste, no luck. Tried all the five 'save as types' but again no real success. I want save them in a simpler fashion. The CS Charset, CS UTF-8, Tab D Charset,Tab UTF-8, V card and LDIF all failed Many thanks Kind regards Alan Jones

The font cannot be used when creating a message "arial narrow" Is there any way to install and use it? The font works in office applications, but thunderbird does not have it. How to restore and use it ??

I have lost my computer in a lightning strike and had Thunderbird on the old one. I use Linux mint and Thunderbird was preinstalled. But I can't use it because it always asks me for a password. I never used a password on my old computer and so I am stuck with using the web based email. What is the problem? Were do I get that password from? Do I need it at all?

I've installed TB to replace my old Opera Mail which is getting too old for support.

I have over 25 000 mails from 2004 onwards.

Export from opera went fine, install into TB went fine and then i've realized that the mails were stored on C and my SSD C drive is too small for that (suggestion for the devs, make an option DURING install to avoid this....)

So I read the tutorials, moved the folder in appdata....then created a new profile which pointed to the folder I've moved to and I mist have done something wrong because I don't see any of the 25 000 old mails.

I created another profile and this time it asked me for my email details (login/pass) which I've entered but I'm back to the same problem.

How can I get out of this ?

I have saved my "original" email folder in which I have an "inbox.sbd" folder that seems to contain my mails and even the folders I've defined when I started setting up TB (before realizing it stored everything on C) so I' just like to use this layout but it won't work.

Should I create a new profile, enter my email infos and then overwrite the inbox.sbd with my old one or is there a sort of "reconstruct" option hidden somewhere ?

Why can't we have a "not junk" button? Am I missing it? Seems pretty standard in all mail programs. Or in the right-click menu? Yes, we can right-click and Move to Inbox, but that's three steps, as opposed to one.

I have TB 91. set to a pop server using SSL/TLS but got a message from gmx saying I will not be able to receive emails on TB AS IT USES OUTDATED SECURITY ... After the protocols TLS1.0 and TLS1.1 have been deactivated, the transfer of emails between your affected device or program and our GMX servers will no longer work; i.e. no emails will be transmitted to or from your GMX email account using TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1. Third-party email programs such as Outlook, Thunderbird or pre-installed apps in which you have set up your GMX email account.We recommend that you only use newer devices and programs that support the latest TLS 1.2 or 1.3 encryption protocols and transfer your emails securely. I am closing out an old cable company account, but want to use Thunderbird to download and save my email from this account before closing it. Will closing this account (POP3), which would delete the emails from the host server, in any way affect my copy of those emails?

Once the account is cancelled, can I stop Thunderbird from trying to access the host server for email updates?

Am I correct in assuming I can't delete the non-existent email account from Thunderbird if I want to keep the emails from that account on my computer?

I have several pst files in Outlook. I wish to import them separately to Thunderbird and keep their contents separate. I know Thunderbird only uses one folder, and then has subfolders. Is there a way to bring in first the main pst contents and put all that in a subfolder, then switch in Outlook to a different pst file, and then import that and put it in a subfolder. And so on, so that I can keep the different sets of emails separate? In Outlook I can put all my household stuff in one pst, all my holiday stuff in another etc etc. I have yet to install Thunderbird and am not quite sure how you can file emails in different categories anyway so I want to sort this out before I go ahead. (I can keep the old Outlook installed and get at the contents that way but it is not really the most convenient.) Thanks in advance for any answers.

Hello, I live in germany! I took the exe from your server. Installed it, but now everything is in english, how to change the Thunderbird in German, when it is installed in english? In preferences i saw nothing about it, just change language for "Rechtschreibung".

Background: I realize that synchronizing a cellphone with Gmail accounts has great value for the vast majority of people, but it is a great annoyance for me. Gmail has loaded hundreds of email addresses into Contacts on my new cellphone. Since only a few of the entries have phone numbers recorded I would like to remove all the Gmail contacts from the cellphone and enter a very small number of contacts manually.

Question: Is there a setting in Thunderbird which severs a connection between Gmail contacts and Thunderbird contacts so I can delete them from the cellphone without fear of deleting them from Thunderbird. (I'll deal with Google Support to find out if I can sever a connection between Contacts on the cell phone and Gmail.)

You Sent me a notice about the "New" Thunderbird . I am Not impressed - I want The Features of "Account Colors" being able to set or change "Fonts" in the Thread and Reading Pane. By default, Thunderbird saves all attachments on outgoing messages. I don't want to save any outgoing attachments, because I have them saved elsewhere.

How can I set the default to not save any outgoing attachment - or else to automatically delete attachments from outgoing messages?

My Gmail has thousands of messages on the server. I only want to keep the previous year (2021) and not import the rest of the messages.

How to I delete the entire batch before 2021 in Thunderbird and not affect the Gmail?

I am using the Imap setup.
