How to close "view source" in the latest Thunderbird header pane in 64bit win10 normal mode? Only clicked on it once, now it won't close and takes up too much space from reading the actual e-mails. Hope someone has an idea.

I recently started using the archive option manually, by right-clicking emails and selecting "Archive".

I've noticed that for some, very few, emails, the "Archive" option is not there.

I can manually mark it as read and move it to the archive folder, but I'm trying to work out why the option is not available as it usually is.

I've added the senders address to my contact list, and Junk filter is turned off.

I've attached two images showing the right-click context menu in both cases.

I'm running the 102.0b8 (64-bit) release.

When I view the inbox for my Yahoo account, by default it shows only Unread. The Quick filter is NOT on(see attached). If I select the Unread Quick filter the display does NOT change, except in green it shows "67 messages".

If I type All in the quick filter box it shows unread messages and a count of 163 messages.

Does anyone know how I can reset this behavior?

Setting Thunderbird up on a new computer. I want my emails to download when I ask for them, not before, but I can't find a setting to say 'Do not download automatically'. Where is the setting to say, 'Don't download email until I ask for it'? Thanks !

Hi, I am new to Thunderbird and not very computer savvy.

I have successfully set up my mail account and am trying to apply filters to incoming mail. The filter is very simple: If the message contains FROM "@mail.zillow.com" send the message to the ZILLOW folder (under that email address).

I have checked the filter log and it says "could not get filter db". I have tried to run the filter manually - no go.

I have tried to read about others who have a similar issue and it talks about debugging. I'm sorry. I do not know how to do this.

I have just installed 102 thunderbird on Windows 11. There is one setting I can't find, that I swear behaves differently/'correctly' from a Linux (91.x), that is: Hover over a message in the list for a second or two, scroll down with keyboard, message goes from 'unread' (bold) to 'read' (normal font), the green 'unread' indicator goes out.

The setting I found seems to apply to a message being read, not hovered over (selected with keyboard or mouse), if that makes sense.

Also, I'd like to see a delete icon rather than needing to hit the keyboard delete, when browsing a list of messages. Possible? Or is it just hidden by my "PixelsPerPX" setting?

I have my Thunderbird set to IMAP with my lln****@gmail account. I also have other identities (c****j@pobox.com; c****r@pobox.com, etc.). When I compose an email, I can choose which identity to use. However, the receiver of the email sees the email as coming from lln****@gmail, not the identity I sent it with. (When they click reply, it goes to the identity.) I would like my IMAP address lln****@gmail to be completely invisible to others.

How can I do this? How can others who receive emails that I send, ONLY see the identity I sent it from?

To increase the font size of TB I know I can click View, Font Size, Increase Font Size . But I need to know how to increase the font size of a received email. Its too small.

Hi, I have cancelled automatic updates for add-ons. When I choose check for update TB does nothing despite the fact that there was a new version of Card book, for which I proceeded manually. Any Help???

Installed TB 102.0 (64bit). Trying to search for addons inside Thunderbird, from Addons TB tab (e.g. for Bidi add-on, which is presently not compatible with TB 102.0: https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/search/?q=bidi&appver=102.0&platform=WINNT). Instead Thunderbird gives the following message: "Secure connection failed. The page you are trying to view can not be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified." with invitation to "Try again". No success. Running Win 10 21H1 (64bit OS), and have Avast AV (22.5.6015 (build 22.5.7263.730)), where Thunderbird is an approved App. I believe the very first time I tried to search for addons, TB 102 actually opened the addons search page, but the second time and all subsequent times it is giving the Secure Connection Failed error. Any suggestions for the cause? Thankyou in advance.

Is there a way to edit the field names in the new version of the address book (v102)? In the UK we have Mobile phones, not Cell phones! Thanks

I have been using Thunderbird for many years, and have just started having an issue with multiple email accounts.

I have several gmail accounts, with one set as the default in the Outgoing Server (SMTP) settings. In the past, the email would be sent from whichever account I was in when I composed (or I could change it from the drop down in the sender address box). Now, when I send an email from my personal account, it shows up in the correct "Sent" folder with the correct sent email address. However, the recipient gets the email from my "default" address.

Obviously, I changed a setting somewhere, but I do not know what I did. I know the explanation is a little confusing, so please ask if you need any clarification.

I work with three monitors and monitor #3 is 99% used just for email via Thunderbird. I am a graphic designer and so my workspace in Photoshop is set to ProPhoto RGB and when I copy and paste a .jpg from photoshop to an email in Thunderbird the colors horrifically off. That is just from copy and paste. If I export the .jpg to srgb, the translation is not 100%, but reasonable. This is critical because I am emailing clients for pre-press proofs and my designs are RED and they see brown.

This morning I checked my email and all was fine. Later I restarted my computer and when I logged in Thunderbird (102.0.1) and my business account was gone. GONE! So, I added the account back.

I always keep my business account on top of the stack of my email accounts. Setting it as default did not move it to the top.

Help?
