Hi, I'm trying to add a new Outlook e-mail address to Thunderbird but I keep getting the following message: "Configuration could not be verified, If your username and password are correct, it's likely that the server administrator has disabled the selected configuration for your account. Try selecting another protocol." I have tried both POP3 and IMAP but I get the same message. Any help would be appreciated.

In the new Thunderbird (why was the phantastic "old"-one being changed ?????) there is a "Import and Export Canter". I can't find it. where is it?

In the German article "News in Thunderbird Version 102" is stated that I can get a colored picture when selecting "Rich Text". I find no possibility of selecting "rich text". Where is it?

How do I find the email I click on? I search for something, I see the email in the list of results, I click on said email and instead of opening it, it bring up the ENTIRE thread that it is embedded in and I have no idea which one it is! PLEASE FIX THIS! It used to open up the email you click on within the thread. Now it just shows the thread. This latest update has RUINED the search function.

The hard drive on my PC running Windows 10 crashed and I have a new one running Windows 11. I used Thunderbird on the old PC and am trying to set up Thunderbird on the new PC. My email account is with AOL. When setting up Thunderbird on the new PC, it asks for the password. I am trying to use the AOL password but it does not work. The same password works on other devices. I have no access to the data on the old hard drive. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

My son's email address has been in my Address Book for years with no problems. Recently his emails have been going to Trash. His are the only ones going to Trash. How do I correct the problem?

I have recently started using Thunderbird 115.4.3 on a new laptop running Windows 11. I transferred my profile from my old laptop and set up my two email accounts as POP accounts. The problem is that Tbird is regularly crashing, mostly (maybe only?) when I delete messages from my Inbox. When I restart the program, it works fine except that all or most of the messages in Trash are now duplicated multiple times. Any ideas how to stop this behavior?

Hi. I have approximately 26 folders in gmail and 34 filters that sort messages from my inbox to the appropriate folder on the mail server. I am planning on rearranging the filters and would like to know if there is a preferred way to optimize them. For example, am I better off having individual filters (say from several health providers) that end up saving respective messages into a 'Health' folder OR should I have 1 filter that looks for each provider in turn (OR condition aka 'Match any of...' ) then moves them to the 'Health' folder.

Not worried about performance, but more wondering if one method is more efficient than another.

Also, I seem to recall seeing in the filter help pages that it is preferable to have local storage for filters as opposed to having the mail server sort them out. Why is that?

I mistakenly moved a folder into another. It is now a subfolder and I want to move it back. The move command is not working. How do I move a subfolder back to be a primary folder?

I can receive emails but cannot send. The error message I get when sending emails. This began as of the most recent Thunderbird update:

Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: <mjndoug22@me.com>... Relaying denied. IP name possibly forged [70.109.132.97]. Please check the message recipient "mjndoug22@me.com" and try again.

I tried to attach/imbed a screenshot of my SMTP server settings but your Browse button below won't allow the paste.

My existing email provider (iiNet) here in Australia is no longer offering an email service. I have been recommended (by iiNet) to transfer to a company called 'The Messaging Company'. Already I have had an issue with the Messaging Company on account of their poor customer service. I note that Thunderbird has a Global Inbox. Does this mean that you are able to offer me an email service that will allow me to keep my current email address?: brucepitt@iinet.net.au If you are able to help, an estimate of the cost for this service would be appreciated. I have read the instructions offered in the FAQ's but is not clear to me. when I type in my filter name and then select "+" after the email addy I get error about filter name already exists...

I just set up Thunderbird today with my O365 e-mail for my small business. I am able to receive e-mails correctly, but I am unable to send outbound emails. I double-checked the mail server names and the ports. Please assist.
