I have cox comm. for internet and emails, they just changed their server to yahoo.com. Now I cannot sign into thunderbird to send or receive emails.

Updated Windows 10 on 4/19. After update Tbird displayed: Unable to write the email to the mailbox. Make sure the file system allows you write privileges, and you have enough disk space to copy the mailbox. Checked permissions on the mailbox folder=OK. Deleted a bunch of old emails=same result. Uninstalled Win 19 update=same result. HELP!

Cox.net has discontinued e-mail, transferring all accounts to Yahoo.

If I 'add' my new Yahoo account to TB, can I combine future emails and future sent mail with the existing Cox.net history data in my TB account?

Recently all cox.net emails transferred to yahoo mail but kept the cox.net address. I prefer the Thunderbird format for emails, more options. How can I add them to Thunderbird? I already have them in Thunderbird with the cox.net address but no new emails are coming in on the ones that have already transferred to yahoo mail. (They didn't all go at the same time so I am still getting emails on the ones that didn't transfer yet.) Thanks.

I have read almost all messages on this website on how to turn of threading, none of them work or they are not available. 1. No option within the hamburger menu to turn off threading 2. mailnews.default_view_flags = 0 - tried this also, doesnt work 3. read every single option in all available settings, nothing that i can see refers to threading

A tab recently opened automatically in Thunderbird with the title 'ImportExportTools NG Help'. I would like to save this for future reference but can't find any way to do this. I tried dragging it to an Inbox, and looked for a 'save' option somewhere, but no luck. Finally, I copy/pasted the text into an email and sent it to myself, but lost some of the formating. Is there a way to save the original tab? Thanks

Following instructions on how to move Thunderbird from old computer to new computer. I have copied from roaming Thunderbird folder to SanDisk but when it is 99% complete I get message saying "Are you sure you want to copy this file without its properties?" It gives me the options of Yes, Skip or Cancel. What do I do?

I cannot send emails. Get a message saying I have sent too many messages. I have not and the message came suddenly two days ago. I can receive and send through telstra.

I accidentally deleted the Trash Folder in Thunderbird. How do I get it back? The Trash Folder itself is gone, not just the trash. Now the trash just disappears when I delete it. Is there any way of reinstalling it? Can I reinstall Thunderbird? What are the consequences if I do that?

I have contributed money, now I will contribute some sound advice. You see, there is one thing missing from your helpdesk and avenues for contribution: The option to contribute MEANING and PURPOSE. My contribution is to tell you KISS: Keep It Simple Stupid. This is a timely contribution. With every new Thunderbird version come more bells and whistles, most if not all of which are not useful, or only useful to a few. I admonish you instead to take a closer look at the programs' foundation. Several basic issues are still not working, or addressed. For instance, the annoying fact that drafts are not purged from the draft folder when sent. Or that headers/content are more and more frequently garbled when my inbox grow. And it is harder and harder to find the "repair" button. Or that I manually have to undo "sort by threaded" every single time I want to view an email from a particular sender. Or the fact that the main page of Thunderbird has to be called up from the taskbar every time I want to view it - the main window disappears between viewings, even though individual drafts or emails remain open. Or that the advanced search function - which used to be easy to find - now is hidden inside another menu, non-intuitively. There are too many options for keeping good things as they are, and NOT trying to change things all the time. This is hard for young, eager programmers to understand, but if this fact is not appreciated Thunderbird will grow less and less interesting and useful. Remember KISS, and read up on Occams' razor. After the latest update, Thunderbird does not open. On line instructions say to erase some programs in it's file location. Did that, and the program booted. However, today, it will not open again. Can you fix this issue with another release, or should I try to go back to the previous release? If so, how to go back to the previous release without losing all my set up? Q: how to reactivate Or delete ?

Cannot send email. Has there been a Thunderbird virus since last update? I conferred with Charter Communications and they were unable locate any problems. However, I did note early on that in settings Charter Communications was spelt incorrectly. (Commuications).

I'm using the latest version of THUNDERBIRD for WINDOWS (now 10 HOME), but this problem has existed for years with previous versions of THUNDERBIRD and former releases of WINDOWS, both HOME & PRO releases. And, it seems to be very specific. When i receive e-mails from (especially) 2 friends who both use AOL as their e-mail client, when I receive them, the imaged files (or memes) are always 'converted into attachments, and what shows in the Body Text of the e-mails is empty boxes. Yet, when I get e-mails from others, including from commercial sources, if there are images within the Body Text, they are present there. This IS very annoying because many times the e-mails I get from these two friends are technical e-mails, with clarifying images as part of the Body Text. When I have mentioned this to them, their responses are that n one else complains, only me, and so the problem MUST BE at my end, but that doesn't make sense, since when I receive e-mails from others (Gmail, etal.) any included images are fully where they belong. ++++++++++++++++++++ Secondly, WHY is it that when there are threaded e-mails in the Sent folder, the ARROW to expand the thread appears at the left side, but in the Delete folder the ARROW appears between the title of the e-mail & the next column? This IS very annoying!!!! Also, when I'm in the DELETE folder, sometimes only two options appear at the right side: Archive Delete, BUT in other incidences, there's a plethora of alternative options, and the Delete option is positioned in a different place. More often than not, I click on the option to send it e-mail to the Archive folder, when I really wanted to Delete it permanently. Another major annoyance!!!! Thank you robert herold
