I have thunderbird 115.11.0 (64-bit) on Linux After hitting the test button, I get this error message:

Password OK

What does this mean? How do I fix it?

As of Supernova update it would seem, thunderbird is unable to fetch favicons for newly added feeds. They will always display a globe favicon, instead of the respectful favicons.

Worse still, it would seem like removing a feed from the folder doesnt revert it to the folder favicon, but rather keeps the globe!

is there a way to force thunderbird to fetch relevant favicons, or add ones manually?

Where are by Thunderbird gmails stored? I am running two email server programs right now (Outlook and Thunderbird). Outlook stores gmail in the cloud and there are thousands of them, Naturally I do not want TBird to store all emails on my hard drive but I am told they are on my hard drive. If so this will eat up ALL my disc space. Where does TBird store my emails? If on my drive then how to I control how many are saved there and what will saved in the gmail cloud?

I have a Fastmail and 2 Cox addresses on rolled back Thunderbird 102. The Fastmail is IMap and both Cox addresses are POP 3. Cox is transitioning to Yahoo Mail, but we have kept our Cox addresses. I'm getting Yahoo mail web mail and think I should change the existing settings on Thunderbird and not create new accounts, but want to make sure. I saw something about Thunderbird and Yahoo and want to make sure I do it right or should use the third party setting for desktop clients that Cox provided for the transition. For me, the transition has not gone smoothly and I'm pretty frustrated. I am not a techie and any help in getting mail to the 2 Cox addresses landing in Thunderbird and the Fastmail continuing as is would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hi. I have approximately 26 folders in gmail and 34 filters that sort messages from my inbox to the appropriate folder on the mail server. I am planning on rearranging the filters and would like to know if there is a preferred way to optimize them. For example, am I better off having individual filters (say from several health providers) that end up saving respective messages into a 'Health' folder OR should I have 1 filter that looks for each provider in turn (OR condition aka 'Match any of...' ) then moves them to the 'Health' folder.

Not worried about performance, but more wondering if one method is more efficient than another.

Also, I seem to recall seeing in the filter help pages that it is preferable to have local storage for filters as opposed to having the mail server sort them out. Why is that?

My email for my domain (Gailfisher@Resourcesforchange.com) hosted by GoDaddy. Has been working correctly for years, but now when trying to send from TB, I get a message to enter password that does not work (it does work on my webhost's platform). Using Windows 10, TB version 115.11.0. BTW, I have another email via AOL that is working just fine on TB. I tried Safe mode -no go I tried following GoDaddy's instructions for IMAP but also did not work. FYI The GoDaddy help desk said: "Please match the server settings with the below server settings. Username Your email address Password Your email account's password Incoming servermail.[your domain name] Incoming ports IMAP - 143 POP - 110 Outgoing servermail.[your domain name] SMTP (outgoing) ports25 (587 or 80 might also work) IMAP use port 143" I tried setting up a new account in TB using email adddress and a new username, but that created the same problem. Failure to save sent emails

I've used Thunderbird for many years and occasionally a message I've sent takes ages being saved, then finally it isn't. This has become more frequent recently together with having to re-enter my email password. I use Ubuntu (22.04.4 LTS) so I don't use anti-virus software and I don't use other email clients (only Thunderbird 115.10.1 64 bit).

I sometimes briefly lose my internet connection, though seemingly not when the email malfunctions, so could my old BT hub be the source of the problems? In the absence of any other solution maybe it's time to get a Chromebook and see if that's any better with Thunderbird. Firefox also now freezes a couple of times a week (and not being an IT wizard I hate not knowing what incantations to type into the terminal when anything goes wrong.)

I imported info from Thunderbird on other computer. Now every time I open Thunderbird on the new laptop it says it can't reach my email server, incorrect login. If I enter my password it repeats the failure message. If I just close the message, the popup appears again, closing it again, it repeats once more, then closing it keeps it gone. Once I get the message to stop popping up by the repeat closings of the message, the related email account has already collected new emails so it was working. For what it's worth, the laptops are both Lenovo, the old is running Win10, the new Win11. Before the Import is was working fine, I only wanted to transfer my contacts, but the export grabbed everything. I don't have the issue on the original laptop I exported the info from.
