Problems With Upgrade 115.3.1 Are Far from Over - Unified Folders and More

The temporary fix for the unpopulated unified folders including the Sent folder, and the issues with missing messages, some showing up in individual folders and not the unified folder and vice versa were just that, temporary fixes. Yesterday, the Sent folder was back to being unpopulated, and the individual folders containing my important and starred messages were all open for some mysterious reason. How this happened out of the blue is also a mystery, because I was not notified of an upgrade. If upgrades are installing on my computer without my permission, this is completely unacceptable. This is a subject that needs to be taken seriously at this point.

I have been trying to use Paypal to donate to Thunderbird. It just keeps giving error message "something went wrong" The Contact Us link on the Donations page didnt work either so I had to fiddle around getting to this page. Also sent question to an Admin. Very frustrating

SOOOO MANY THINGS ARE WRONG AND DON'T WORK RIGHT.

The older version would be an IMPROVEMENT to this set up!

Please don't cop an attitude like we don't know. WE DO KNOW!

This is NOT BETTER.

PLEASE RESTORE THE OLDER VERSION AND LET US CHOOSE!

I asked this but never got any response via email so will ask again. I have Thunderbird on my desktop and a laptop, both running Win 10. They both have the same rev level of Thunderbird. Looking at my email, if I click on a new message once it shows it as read which is what at I want.. On my desktop I have to open up every message to show it as read which is a pain. I know you can also go though and set message to showing as being read but the single click method is must faster. My laptop worked that way at one time but no longer. 80% of my new messages i know basically what is in them but want to save them so just want to show them read by the one click method which is very simple. I have compared settings and cannot find anything different between the two but obviously there is. Any suggestions on how to make the desktop work like the laptop? Single click for read. I shut down my PC for 3 days early July, -rebooted on july 5 , new version of Thunderbird was installed since then I cannot complete the new configuration - agrees the account is good, but fails to complete. I have replaced the new version w/ newest version on july 12 , same result - cannot complete setup , fails w/ error message "Unable to login at server- probably configuration , user name or password "

I have message threads that contain messages that are not part of the thread. I don't know how they got linked into the same thread, so are many months apart. Some times I find more than one thread in which a series of messages occur. Any ideas why that may have happened?

I would like to correct the threading but can find no way to edit threads to remove message or to break threads. Is there a way to edit threads?

Spent days setting up EXCHANGE account in Thunderbird, closed Chrome, new account disappeared with all emails in it

I am distressed. I've used Thunderbird for years and had to create a new version of my IMAP account using EXCHANGE. I did that. I know it was successful because the EXCHANGE account showed up in Thunderbird and I then spent days transferring emails from the old IMAP account personal email folders into duplicate folders in the new EXCHANGE account.

Then today I closed my browser. When I re-opened Thunderbird, the new EXCHANGE account was absent. Since I can't use the old IMAP account any more, I tried again to create an EXCHANGE account. When I tried to do that, I got a message that "the server already exists" (see image below) and I am unable to complete the task.

So the previously created EXCHANGE account has disappeared, with all my emails in it, I can't create a new one, and the IMAP no longer works (and won't accept my password to send or receive). I feel completely stuck and I've lost several years of emails.

The fact that the message said that the server already exists makes me think and hope that my EXCHANGE account still exists somewhere. Can you help me find it? Many thanks in advance. Steve

Thunderbird crashes regularly. I have determined that it might be due to RAM. When Quickbooks is open, Thunderbird will crash almost all the time. If I close QB, it is fine. I have an HP desktop w/ 8GB ram. What I don't understand is that it started doing this recently, but never used to crash. Is TB using more ram now since the latest releases? Any insight would be appreciated.

Dear Thunderbird/Mozilla,

I got the "Want Thunderbird On Your Phone?" email what starts with "Did you know that less than 1% of Thunderbird users fund all the work we do? We are completely funded by donations from our global community."

My question is did you know the Thunderbird is getting worse and worse? You would like money from user meanwhile you don't take care what users want?

The new Supernova is a big crap: - multiple folders can't be selected in the same time - Customized icon function also has been removed - TB always makes folders' file corrupted, folders always must be repaired time to time - TB time to time gets stuck during email sending and when I restart TB it removes the email from the Draft so I lose my already written email - TB always turns on f*cking Threads view on all news folder but Thread view is disabled - TB always uses Correspondents column instead of "From", "Recipient" and "Size", I can't set a customized default view. - I always have to restart the TB after a few days because it becomes very slow

Since Supernova has been released we almost each day got calls from our clients and complain about TB why it is getting more useless day by day. So it is a sad story but true.

Well, either I get to roll back to the old UI, or the pre-Supernova Tbird, or I'm done with Tbird and done donating. This update is absolute shite and not being warned of the changes it would make was really, really shitty.

So how do I roll back, oh geniuses who developed this new shite Tbird?

The cursor/highlight then jumps back up to the previously highlighted email (next to the first email I deleted). Now I don't know where I am, I don't know what email Subjects I have already looked at, I don't know where the next unlooked-at email is. In order to get back to where I was before I deleted the second email, I have to scroll down through many emails I have already scrolled through.

How do I stop TB from doing this? I want the cursor/highlight to stay right where it was before I delete any email, I do not want it jumping to some previous location.

This is the error message I get for the last two weeks. Matt at Mozilla did not solve problem. Have rebooted system, unplugged everything several times still unable to send email.

I have posted up to yesterday requests for help with Thunderbird to both mail.gmail.com and to Thunderbird. Part was solved by gmail but they said that for slowness to contact Thunderbird. I got a notice things were solved and this morning both the pop.gmail.com (downloading posts with Thunderbird) and the smtp.gmail.com (sending posts with Thunderbird) were fast as usual - few seconds. I sent about 35 posts and only the first took two second. This evening the sending posts from my Thunder bird (of the desktop computers - 10 posts during an hour) take about two minutes. Sending from the smartphone take a second.
