Hello. I need help getting Thunderbird to stop marking and sorting certain emails as threads. Seems to be completely spontaneous and for no apparent reason, even in the inbox. I have never actively marked emails as threads. I've tried to remove the "threads" function in the folder settings, but it doesn't seem to have helped in some cases. I also need help with getting the email "unstuck" from the thread structure, I have tried "Ignore threads" and "Ignore subthreads" with the result that the email disappeared. The documents I have seen have not been of any help. Reply preferably to my usual e-mail address, have a bit of ours with mail in the G-mail account.

With the moving of Cox emails to Yahoo would it be feasible for Thunderbird to put an instruction list(with screenshots) of how to get all our TB email accounts from Cox to TB? Do we have to delete all our TB email accounts and re-enter them into TB under the new Yahoo or can we just change the server settings on the existing Cox settings? If just changing server settings what are the settings for the new yahoo? All my accounts are IMAP so if instructions could be made, maybe one for IMAP and one for POP for those who use either. Thank you

I've just now noticed the Threading automatic default grouping/marking of messages, and it is appalling. Thunderbird/Mozilla either needs to eliminate this (with appropriate warning notices, perhaps) or at least give us the ability to NOT link various messages. It's not only vastly annoying, it can cause severe real-world problems if anyone not in the CC or BCC fields is receiving these messages that were not intended for them.

I suppose for now, the only way to NOT link things that were never meant to be would be to change the Subject when discussing important topics.

Either that, or get a whole new mail service, which I'd prefer not to have to do.

I set up a new computer, windows 11, and downloaded the latest version of Thunderbird. On the old computer the spam filter works normal, on the new computer Thunderbird puts a lot of normal mail in the spam folder. Is there a way to set the spam filter to not flag so many emails.  I am having a problem accessing my email through Thunderbird.  I have a Comcast account.  Thunderbird won't access my new Comcast password therefore I cannot get my email thru thunderbird.  I have been on the phone with comcast and they suggested I contact you.  I am really hoping that you can help me with this because I've been using Thunderbird for a long time and I absolutely LOVE your email instead of using comcast website. When I try to put the new password in this is the message i get:
"Sending of password for user lmccleery1 did not succeed.  Mail server mail.comcast.net responded [AUTH] Authentication fail."  I also get the message: "login to server mail.comcast.net with username lmccleery1 failed."

The auth code is 1014.

 I will be anxiously awaiting your response and hopefully be able to resolve this issue.

I currently use Cox email along with Thunderbird. Cox is going to transfer their service over to Yahoo. Will I still be able to use Thunderbird once the email service is transferred?

How do I change the order of my email account folders in Thunderbird 115.6? I have multiple accounts and just added another, and I want to move it from the bottom of the sidebar to a higher location. I used to be able to click and move around accounts in the "account settings" mode. Now, that doesn't work. Is there a solution? The instructions provided in the video created by Thunderbird in 2022 doesn't work! Please help!

I recently downloaded and installed Thunderbird but forgot my primary password. Have tried the solutions available at the Mozilla website with no luck. I have also deleted the program and my Mozilla account, and started over from scratch. Still no luck.

I had to replace my hard drive and now have Win 11. I still have my Thunderbird account, but I cannot access the 3000+ emails in my folders. My Thunderbird started from scratch, no history, no files. How do I access and download my saved emails and folders from before the hard drive replacement? The Geek Squad couldn't help. Keep it simple, I'm not a techie.
