I have moved a profile from Windows 7 to Windows 10. Moved the "Thunderbird" folder from AppData/Roaming on 7 to AppData/ Roaming on Win 10. The profile and all configuration comes up. BUT!! My inbox in an account (not the Local Folders) is empty. Other folders don't show all the messages. Oddly enough, Trash does. I even deleted the *.msf files (while Thunderbird was not running) and still no messages show up. Tried Repair Folder. No help.
I've looked at the files in a text editor. All messages are there.
Any tips would be fantastic!

I got a new computer in August and re-installed Thunderbird. I needed to search for an old email today and realized that there is a gap in available emails to be found. I am missing emails from most of 2018 and 2019. Oddly enough, all my emails from before 2018 are still there, but none of the more recent years. I am trying to find an email thread from this past spring and I can't find any from that time period.
Any suggestions?

Whenever I'm composing an email, Thunderbird would periodically save it as a draft. Now, however, (since the last update, I believe), the "Copying message to Drafts folder..." at the bottom of the 'compose' window just keeps running for the whole time the window is open. If I pull down "Save Message" I get an error message that says: "Your draft message was not copied to your drafts folder (Drafts) due to network or file access errors. You can retry or save the draft locally to Local Folders/Drafts-kharrisma@gmail.com." The only way at present that I can save an incomplete message is to save it as an html file in the 'Documents" folder of my hard drive.
Is there away to clear this problem up, some setting that was altered with the update that I'm just not able to find? I've been through ALL of the option screens, and haven't found a thing that seems relevant to this issue.
I realize I could probably (if I could find it...) configure T-Bird to just automatically save all drafts to my hard drive, but I've had drive crashes and data loss before, and I'd just as soon have it stored remotely (or both locally AND remotely, if that's even possible) so things don't get lost. Again.
Any direction would be greatly appreciated!

Put Mail Merge into action and then it said it couldn't send because of a problem with password. I put in a new password. Didn't work. Now the whole program is stuck with this same spot in Mail Merge. I cannot get back control of Thunderbird. I actually downloaded another Thunderbird. After searching for something with the global (^K) search box, results sent to me show a different "to:" name. It's one of the names in my address book, but when I change the name in the address book, nothing changes in the search.
It's very possible that this was the first user I emailed back when I first installed Thunderbird/Mozilla Suite/Netscape, or that I had assumed that identity at some point.
That name is nowhere to be found in my account settings, identities, or config files. I'm stumped.

I've said it before but TB updates are getting to be as problematic as Window updates.
Don't the idiot developers understand why this is not acceptable? I can barely use Thunderbird tonight.
TB may be free but I make voluntary contributions to Mozilla but not for this shit.
Continue like this and very few people will bother to write add-ons for TB and very few people will bother to install them either.
TB say that updates have improvements but it's one step forward and 11 steps back tonight for me.
Can a volunteer answer this please and pass it on to development?

Upgraded to Mageia 7 and Thunderbird is no longer marking junk mail as read. Junk mail is being moved to the proper Junk folder, but I have to manually mark those messages as read. The box for "Mark messages to be determined junk as read" in global account preferences is checked. This function worked just fine prior to the upgrade.
Is there a bug here that I am unaware of or am I missing something?

On occasion, particular messages don't show up in my inbox. The inbox shows that there's an unread message in the inbox, but the message is nowhere to be found. I sort by unread and it still doesn't show up. This happens with one particular sender that I'm aware of and has happened with this sender's past few emails. I can open up the email in web browser of Outlook and see the message there on those, but not Thunderbird.

Only in my case none of the workarounds seem to fix it. I was already using an app password and yesterday (2019-12-03) it suddenly stopped. Regenerating the app pass word doesn't help and neither does switching to oauth2. When I try oauth2 I get all the right login screens and I get the google validation but thunderbird sees some sort of failure. When I use app password I just get that the password is incorrect and to retry.
I'm using TB 68.2.1 on Ubuntu LTS 18.04.3
How can I get more debugging information on what might be happening?

I've stored my Thunderbird (TB) profile and mail on a backed-up non-system internal HDD since 2004.
Recently, I abandoned Windows 7 and clean installed Windows 10 and upgraded to TB v.68.2.2.
I used my tried an true method of migrating my Windows 7 TB profile folder into the new TB installation. That is, in Win10 create a new profile in TB profile manager, erase that profile's files and replace with the previous version TB profile's files. This technique has worked for the past 15 years with every new computer and/or installation of TB. BUT not this time.
Now in my new TB install I can access my previous Address Book, Drafts, Sent mail, and Junk mail. But I can't seem to see or access my previous Inbox and all the mail in it and its folders. Via File Explorer I can see the previous inbox and all of its folders right where they're supposed to be in F:\Files\Technical\Settings\TBird Mail\myname\Mail\Inbox.sbd\. But how do I bring them into TB?
Any help in how to bring the previous inbox and its contents into TB would be greatly appreciated.

I have TB 68.2.2 (64bit, BUILD ID: 20191105113228) on linux. I noticed an update available to 68.3.0 via the preference page. This, despite the latest download only being 68.2.2 on the stable channel (maybe this is the problem).
Regardless, if I click it, I can no longer start TB - no error msgs on terminal etc. Without getting too serious, I notice that in the program directory a new directory called "updates" and a new file called "active-update.xml" are generated. If I delete these, and the .parentlock in the profile directory, then TB starts fine. So I changed updates to "Check for updates, but let me choose whether to install them." and now it seems fine. This was reproducible several times for me.
I don't really need a solution as this seems to work... mostly this is in case someone else can't get their TB to work like it was for me.
PS: Would be nice to be able to delete our questions...
