v115.10.1 I made a mistake setting SMTP credentials, wrong protocol, and it just stays on Sending dialog. So I abort when I realize I made a mistake and come back to mail I was to send. - but 30-60s after I aborted comes an error message saying it timed out

So the cancel button does not really cancel the send attempt, it seems.

I'm using Thunderbird Supernova, Can anybody tell me why I have (a DRAFT and DRAFTS) folders? When I save my emails for later they are saved in the DRAFTS folder, the DRAFT folder appears not to be used. I have tried to delete it but guess it must be some sort of system folder. Any help please. Thanks

So I just changed hosting companies and now I can't access ANY of my emails in Thunderbird to change my incoming and outgoing server settings because the failed login messages keep coming up so fast I can't get past them. I can't be the only one who's ever had this happen. Is there a workaround?

v115.10.1 32-bit Changed isp and email completely, and wanted to change both server name and user name. But editing server name and leaving that field I get a popup wanting to restart - problem is I need to change user name as well or no go

So it starts to try and login but fails of course, since user name need to change too.

This really need another approach, maybe not so automatic.

Changing focus from first field to next one should not execute restart. - just when leaving second field if any of first and second is changed

So going through all accounts and failed logins etc all the way is cumbersome. - dual restarts every account

In this help forum, is there a way to search for posting done by a specific Contributor? I find some contributors are very helpful and would like to see more of that person instead of reading thru a lot of posting. Thank you

I think Thunderbird did an update and now my email and my wife's emails are gone....including all of our saved emails. I believe we are using PoP accounts and not imap. Is there a way to get back all our emails?

Question 1 - Is this a real version? (as dlsplayed in troubleshooting information) Question 2 - How can I upgrade to version 115,, or do I have to delete and start again? Sub question - if I have to delete what is the best method? I just spent a few days installing and then installing 5 gig of settings and mail from Windows 10; I would hate to do it again.

Hi, I have just created a new folder within Local Folders, and want to move emails into it. When I click "move to" the new folder is not there. All the old folders are there - 10 of them. Is this a limit? Can it be enlarged?

Thunderbird 115.11.etc has become seriously slow when deleting or moving emails - the first one goes quickly but then it all slows down for the second and subsequent emails. I have found that this is a Virus checker issue - I use Microsoft's own defender software on Windows 11 - and have now eliminated the problem by making an exception in the virus software to the TB profile folder. My question is: how safe is this - I don't want to allow virus attacks in email but at the same time I don't want the slow software! What do you suggest? Thank you

Tired of Apple mail, want to install Thunderbird 78.14.0 on my mac mini. Am running Yosemite 10.10.5.

I can see access to the files on this site but need an installer to load to system.

Am familiar with unix can work off a console but am not a programmer, wouldn't know one end of a compiler from the other.

Can you point me in the right direction?

Hi folks! I use Thunderbird Beta (128.0b1 (64-bit)) for my email currently. I've been having a problem with some emails, mainly in my Sent folder, showing up as long strings when I try to view them. It looks like untranslated code put into plain text to me, but I'm not sure what would be causing it. I have no problem reading the email if I log into our webmail to do so. Example text from an email attached. Is this a known problem? Any ideas on how I might solve it? I like Thunderbird, but not being able to search and read through sent emails is a real problem. i have an old win10 machine with a huge thunderbird profile - 37.9GB size / 75.2GB disk. i'd like to move it with Tools Export / Import to a new win11 machine.

on win10 i click thru tools > export > open profile folder

and in ...\thunderbird\profiles i select yhcc00j7.dan and export it to an external ssd.

it runs for hours and then a number of these appear: "Are you sure you want to copy with file without its properties? The file %2B...." has properties that can't be copied to the new location.... Type WDSEML file size 1.02KB....".

so i check "Do this for all current items" and hours later it finishes.

on win11 i click thru tools > import > import from another thunderbird profile > choose a profile and select the folder yhcc00j7.dan on the ssd and import everything > start

for a minute or so it says "importing .... 0%" but no new profile shows up in ...appdata\roaming\thunderbird\profiles\ and then "import failed unexpectedly" is displayed.

i've tried this twice. both machines have version 115.11.1 "esr update channel". what am i doing wrong?

In dem Fenster habe ich keine Möglichkeiten die Links an zu klicken, da dann das Fenster weiß wird. Ich kann es nur wegklicken, es kommt aber innerhalb von 5 Minuten wieder. Oder ich melde mich mit google an, was ich aber nicht möchte.

My email inbox is really a task list. I find that I email myself items that I need to work on so that they are in the inbox. It's a tiny thing, but it would be so much more convenient to be able to view/edit the task list alongside the email inbox. I organize my emails with the listing of emails full-height on the screen with the preview window to the right of that. I would like to be able to see the Task List to the right of the preview pane. At this point, it appears that only the Today pane can be shown there. This requested feature is supported in Outlook, but the Outlook "task list" is not as nice as Thunderbird's because their "tasks" are just emails that have been flagged - not very useful. Thanks for your consideration.

My Thunderbird Inbox is set up to order the emails so the oldest emails are at the top of the list, and the part of the list that is showing in the window on the screen is the bottom of the list, therefore the most recent emails. However, when I open Thunderbird to look at the emails in the Inbox, while the list is in the order as just specified (oldest at the top, newest at the bottom), what I see on the screen is the section of the list of the emails that arrived about 6 weeks ago. To see the most recent emails I have to move the list up the window. It has been doing this for about 2 months.

Any idea why it is doing this, and how to 'fix' it, please?

I see that others have had the same problem as me. My trash folder has many thousands of duplicate emails. If I block delete them it will take days to complete. So 3 questions 1. How do I stop duplicate emails in my trash. After deleting many reappear with the date 01/01/1970 2. Is there a faster way of deleting. I use select email>shift key>find last email>delete 3. Is there a limit to how many emails I can put into the block mentioned in #2

Cannot receive or send emails via Thunderbird account. Window popping up stating IP Address Temporarily Blacklisted. This happened once before (about 5 months ago) and it corrected itself after 10 days of being down. The last email received on laptop was May 22nd, 2024. Last email received via Droid phone was yesterday, June 8th, 2024. Have tried a reset of modem and router. Have had this email account with Thunderbird for over 10 years. After reading the Community comments, it's unclear whether it's a server issue, a Comcast issue, or a Thunderbird issue. Please help get my IP Address UN-Blacklisted... again.

Yesterday, midday, my sent file stopped storing new messages after years of flawless service

I have tried: - closing TB and shutting down laptop and restarting

                      Under  Account Settings> Copies and Folders: unclicking "place a copy in" doing a test and then reclicking "place a copy in"  (directed to sent folder)

FWIW: 1.only thing I have done differently lately is create a Template

           2. Sent folder works fine on my on-line email ( I normally work with storing locally on my MacBook Air) but on-line email is not TB so likely irrelevant
