Firefox recently started "eating" my tabs: closing them without my permission. There are several tabs I want to keep open at all times, because I refer to them from time to time throughout the day, but Firefox closes them from time to time. I googled the issue and the AI directed me to two settings: browser.tabs.unloadOnLowMemory and browser.tabs.min_inactive_duration_before_unload. It suggested setting the first one to "false" and increasing the duration of the second, or setting it to "false." However, the setting will only accept numeric values.

Since I am not having low memory issues, I want Firefox to leave my tabs alone. Is there any way to actually do this? If not, it would be really nice if Firefox developers reversed this intrusive change.

When i mouse wheel click the bookmark folder, it always switches to the first tab when doing so. This notably doesn't happen when i click the non-folder bookmark. Is there a way not to have this behavior ?

My mail checker extension isn't working right in Firefox. Extension Link I was able to find an error using Developer Options but I don't know if the error is even related to the extension or if it is even useful. If anyone would help me, I would be very grateful.

Firefox stopped working on my computer. Every time I try to open it I get an error message that says "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item." I tried to uninstall and reinstall with no success. Our IT dept tried as well and nothing we have tried has resolved the issue. Thank you for your help.

HI Mozilla, I have recently purchased a new laptop and am setting up my desktop icons. I have the latest version of Firefox on both the old one and this one. also Windows 11

On the old computer (which I set up 18 months ago and still works) the desktop icons show the website logo. The correct logo appears for any newly opened websites for which I set a desktop icon.

On this computer all website desktop icons show the Firefox logo and not the website logo. This happens whether I drag the address or the lock symbol. I can change the icon using the inbuilt menu, but this is tedious and I would prefer them be the correct ones.

The correct logo appears if I right click on an app in the start list and drag it to the desktop.

Consequently I think the above is a Firefox problem.

I have been using Firefox for some years very successfully.

What in the actual hell is going on? Since when did this become a problem? Website ends with .to instead of .com but this has literally never caused me any problems on this machine and I've been using the same extensions/add-ons since I bought it. It's been at least 3-4 years. Windows 11 24H2 (latest update) Firefox Version 140.0.2 (latest update) No settings have been changed, aside from my updating the browser and/or my operating system. Please help.

Had to reinstall firefox after a power outage. Now running FF Version 140.0.2, 64-Bit. But I can't find Outlook Calendar. Calendar continues to operate as normal on my iphone running Outlook for iOS. How can I get Outlook Calendar working again on this desktop. Thanks in advance.

It would be cool if you guys added a display to control the volume of a certain tab (like YouTube that people often use to play music while doing other things) AND add a feature that when a new media starts playing it stops the other one (like on Opera GX, the browser I came from). This would be really helpful and immersive since the user wouldn't have to deal with sounds collision and focus on his thing, not interrupting his flow to mute a music or a podcast or whatever. Also if you guys could add this feature, let the users choose between two options: pause (which completely pauses the background media) or fade-to-mute (which quickly fades the background audio until it is completely muted, but not paused. When the principal media stops playing, it will fade in again).

All of a sudden, I cannot login to my QNAP nas to perform any administration.

First it issues a self-signed certificate error. Then it issues a MOZILLA_PKIX_ERROR_CA_CERT_USED_AS_END_ENTITY after I've imported the certificate into the Firefox internal CA.

I am completely locked out of being able to manage my NAS because of this issue. I could issue another certificate, but, I can't actually install it. I could update the software in the unit to see if QNAP has fixed this issue, but I can't get into administer the device at all.

You people need to allow users to over-ride security concerns where errors such as this occur. The whole purpose of security exceptions is to prevent this kind of stuff from happening.

Please help and please give your users a way of managing this situation.

In Chrome, for example, if you type "maps" in the address bar, it will autofill to "maps.google.com", which then redirects to the correct URL, "google.com/maps". Initially, it doesn’t do this, but if you do it repeatedly, Chrome eventually learns and sends you directly to that URL when you type "maps". The same happens with "gmail" or even just "gm", which redirect to "gmail.com" or "mail.google.com". Does Firefox have this kind of feature?

I think I browsed a reddit thread from a few years ago asking this same problem having something to do with autofill frequency which doesn't work, because the actual url is not, in the example of maps, maps.google.com and the url I want to enter redirects to it.

There are four (!) instances of Firefox now in Default Apps (Windows 11). From what I can glean from searching online, the fixes either involve messing with the Registry or uninstalling/reinstalling Firefox, but even these measures do NOT prevent the multiple instances from recurring with further updates. The Control Panel only shows one instance of Firefox.

What is the best approach to this problem? A "fix-it" tool would be most welcome.

Starting this morning Firefox is not letting me log in to some pages. Other pages i can get into but they do not display/load properly. Everything was working fine on Friday. What changed?
