Hi! i was wondering why my firefox reseted after reboot. i have all the important tabs and bookmarks for my university work, chores and articles, platforms that are mandetory on my uni. also, i was tinkering with partitions before the reboot because my steam didnt want to run any games. i was guided by the chat gpt with terminal coding to do get steam working even tho i didnt solve the problem. is there any way you can help me?

I don't know what you're doing but EVERYTIME I do an update lately, something goes wrong. Today after update, my STGs are affected and ALL ARE GONE. I do NOT believe this is their fault. And you put this dang auto Startpage when launching window, I did NOT ask for that. I am so pissed, how do I get them all back? I had things I was working on that were very important. What else did you add to FF that I don't know about? I don't want your updates anymore. You screwed me big time. And I don't want the extensions YOU think I should have: Google, eBay, Bing, etc. wasting my space. I'm not the only one either, seen lots of complaints.

Tell me how to get all my bookmarks to appear again after they recently disappeared. When I got the bookmarks back in the toolbar only half of them show up. What happened to the bookmark icon on my toolbar? Microsoft edge still has my bookmarks easily available!

Hello . 2 maybe 3 days ago when i went to use Firefox to check my email etc there was an update available.

I did the usual thing and accepted the update , that id seam to go as normal

However since that update all of my short cuts to my save/favourite site as now disappeared completely , now even any blank icons ??

I managed to find my Backup-files in my Mozilla-files, but upon copying it i only got my closed Tabs back and not my closed Tab-Groups. I lost like months worth of Tabs and dont know how to restore them.

Firefox quit working on my bench window 's 10 computer. I finally had to uninstall Firefox. I then installed a new version of Firefox. Question: did all my saved website locations that I had on original Firefox version get wiped out too? If not, how can I locate them and bring them up again.

somehow i lost all my bookmarks all it shows me in the toolbar is manage bookmarks i go to that click on history says empty where did they go and how do i get them back

Apparently, there was a Windows Update last night (Windows 10). Bookmarks disappeared on Firefox. Went to Manage Bookmarks tab. Went to Import and Backup. Then Restore. There's a prompt to Choose File, but nothing appears. Also, on the left side of the Library window it is blank. On a support page, it showed some sort of list of bookmarks. Nothing like that when I pull it up.

Hello, I had 2 firefox applications open on my pc and on these 2 applications I had different separate tabs/sessions then if I closed one after the other. This caused the one that was closed first to not reopen when firefox was launched, only the other, is there any way to bring back the session that was closed first

I reinstalled windows on my pc after syncing all my browser data (bookmarks etc) everything but some bookmarks, i have 4 folders and 2 of them had all that was in there and the other 2 where empty is it possible to get them back somehow?

Yesterday I opened Firefox and found that it had completed a factory reset (without asking me) and I have lost all of my data and settings, particularly from plugins (Simple Tab Groups for example). I have a folder called Old Firefox Data on my desktop, and I have copied the files into the profiles folder from about:support, but I have still lost all my settings.

This is extremely frustrating and will take a lot of time to get everything back to how it was. Please let me know how to restore to my old state.

i attempted to update my Firefox this morning and the app froze and refused to reopen after multiple attempts. i decided to throw the app away and re-download firefox on my desktop, but now have no access to my bookmarks, open tabs (history) and passwords. please assist!

Hello, after a power cut I lost all my bookmarks. When I try "Manage Bookmarks -> Import and Backup -> Restore -> Choose File..." nothing happens.

In the folder ".mozilla/firefox/6924v31j.default-1728390329118/bookmarkbackups" there are several backup files, but the newest has the date Jun 25, though the name suggests it's from Jul 2: -rw-r--r-- 23850 Jun 25 13:07 'bookmarks-2025-07-02_184_mg1znof1NbBiyJ14ZcO9SluvTvLZI-rxPSm20YZUJww=.jsonlz4'

In the directory ".mozilla/firefox/6924v31j.default-1728390329118" there is also places.sqlite from Jul 4 11:59 (that was the moment when the power was cut).

How can I restore my bookmarks?

I did my monthly Norton 360 system scans and updates last night, and maybe it is coincidence, but all of my Firefox bookmarks are now missing, and there is no browsing History showing. I have tried the import/restore steps but each date I try to restore from I get an error message - "Unable to process the backup file".
