The awesome bar's adress-bar history is a privacy threat. How to erase routinely. Even CCleaner Pro doesn't get it.

I've researched the net and every "solution" that has been offered fails to work.

I'd like the awesome bar (address bar) not to remember or suggest anything and if by chance it does remember something I want CCleaner to be able to delete the entries.

This is a deal breaker. If I can't protect my privacy using Firefox I'll find another browser. I am a longtime Firefox user and want to stay with Firefox.

Never worked in any version FF as far back as I can remember. Currently using 60esr/MacOS 10.12.6. Can be big PITA, since the recaptcha iframe doesn't even appear, and only find out -- maybe -- when I've entered all login setup information for a site. Have NoScript, uMatrix, but with everything allowed makes no difference. Have to use another browser, like Safari or Chrome, and then have to reenter everything.

Seems it's something intrinsic to FF.

Lots of sensitive stuff in places.sqlite file.

%AppData%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\*|places.sqlite

It stores favorite icons, input history, keywords, and browsing history (a record of visited pages). I like to wipe this file since it holds lots of sensitive data, but deleting this file will also delete the bookmarks. I think bookmarks should be stored in a separate file.
