You have made it IMPOSSIBLE to remove the GOOGLE search engine, by graying out the "Remove" button when the "GOOGLE" search engine is highlighted in the "Search Shortcuts" of the "Search" page of "Settings"!!! THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!!!!!!!! IF YOU REFUSE TO FIX THIS, THEN TELL ME HOW TO INSTALL LAST YEAR'S EDITION OF FIREFOX!!!!!

I want to convert a pdf file that I mistakenly had to generate when I deleted the original file. I want to convert the pdf sheet back to a Word doc so I can edit it.

Hi I am a longtime user of your browser. I have version 124.0.2(64 bit) installed on three devices. First thing I do on opening it is to click on "about", which normally updates the browser, before I do any browsing. In the last three weeks, however, it has not updated on any of the three devices, rather, it says "Failed to check for updates". I have tried the workarounds suggested at your Help center, and nothing has worked. What gives, may I ask? Thank you

When trying to open my protected browser with firefox I keep getting "Firefox is already running, but is not responding. The old Firefox process must be closed to open a new window." I have refreshed and re-installed Twice! I have followed the instructions to go to file (using %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\) and make sure it is NOT Read-Only and to delete the parent.lock in it. Yet it keeps going to Read-Only and the parent.lock keeps re-appearing. The day before everything was working. I have tried Protective Browser with other browsers and it works. 1. Why is the Protective Browser not working? 2. Why is the File going to Read-Only and 3. Why is the parent.lock keep returning? Thanks

I'm a game developer working on my first WebGL game from Unity. For the past day I've been banging my head around getting controllers to work, only to discover the issue is with Firefox - my build works fine in Edge and Chrome.

What's the situation with Firefox WebGL support? Is this likely to be fixed at any point or should I inform users Firefox doesn't work (and be pressured onto using Chrome or something else myself despite wanting to use Firefox?)

Since about one year I am unable to use Japanese input only in Firefox. When I try to switch with fcitx and control+space, nothing happens. However, fcitx-mocz works everywhere else on my computer (i.e. terminal, thunderbird, other browsers, etc.). Furthermore, I uninstalled fcitx and everything associated with it and reinstalled it according to this thread: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1367181 (just with mocz for Japanese). This also didn't change anything. Any help is appreciated! I'm seeking help because sound is not working on Firefox. All other software are able to produce sound on every speaker and headphones I have. The speaker logo does not appear in tabs were videos or music is playing and firefox doesn't show up in EarTrumpet. It does show in the volume mixer but no bar appears to show it is displaying sound while media is playing.

I'm running : Firefox version 119.0 64 bits Windows 10 64 bits version 22h2, OS build 19045.3570

I've tried :

1. Restarting Firefox
2. Muting/Unmuting Firefox in the volume mixer, in firefox tabs too
3. Downgrading to version 118.02 32 bits
4. Uninstalling all my audio drivers followed by a restart (they got re installed but no change for Firefox)
5. Restarting Firefox with all addons disabled

I'm running out of solutions.

I have loved being a Mozilla-stuff user intermittently since teaching on Netscape 1.1, and now am making Firefox 98.02 my default browser. I like both Safari and Firefox, and sometimes use them simultaneously for two accounts on the same service (not right now). My physically pristine 2015 Mac cannot install OS's past the 10.12 I have, so Safari is failing. But I am exasperated at runarounds when trying to set up this Firefox account. I used the emailed verification code and seemed to get in, but got the red-box message "This account... administrator... error." I cannot tell whether the site is letting me use it normally, but I think not. I just spent an hour in help forums. Geesh, tech complexity has mushroomed since my LAN work in the 90s, and you volunteers get to cope with inarticulate queries like mine! Upload is failing of jpg screen shot that has been made anonymous. Help?

Hi! Since updating Firefox to 98.0 I've been experiencing sudden performance drops(lags/freezes/stutters) while scrolling. `about:support` page shows that compositing is `WebRender`. The issue occurs with fresh profile without any addons installed and also in `firefox-nightly`(100.0a1). However, scrolling is totally smooth in 97.0.2 and earlier versions of Firefox.

What changes in Firefox 98 could cause this, and are there any settings in `about:config` I can try to tune to solve the issue? These are the settings I've always used, and, as I mentioned, scrolling was smooth before 98.0:

I have a locked file that shows up as Invalid Symlinks error. I am not sure but I think it may be Profile.ini Here is what I am getting that tells me its a Non-Existent Destination file. My question is why is it Invalid symlink and what can I do to fix it? Hello, I was trying to fix this issue on my browser but I was not able to do it. The OS is Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS 64-bit. Currently, I'm using Firefox version 99.0a1 but I had the same issue on version 97. Also, I have this issue on only one of my PCs. As I said in the subject: - The browser freezes the whole PC and I have to force reboot it. (I already disabled the hardware acceleration) - the recent download item open button does not trigger the opening of the folder. - If I try to download a file, the browser ask me where to save it. But if I try to download another one the browser shows me the directory with path /run/usr/1000/... I tried to delete places.sqlite but I received the same result. ... This just started happening and I'm not sure why.

I access my email via a browser. When i compose an email If I have a .ZIP file that contains a bunch of files. If I want to attach say file # 6 and File # 7 to the email I am composing I would open windows explorer, traverse to the ZIP file location and click on it so it opens in windows Explorer. Then I'd highlight the one or two files I wanted and I'd drag them to the email.

This would typically attach the the files but it no long works - I have a feeling it may be due to windows 98 I hear you guys changed (fixed) how files are processed.

This is awful I now must extract those files to hard disk (of if there's another contained ZIP file within its even more extracting) - I'll this makes so much work and if I forget to delete all the files I execrated I'll run out of space.

Is there I setting that I can set to make it work the way it used to - I don't want to learn another browser but this change has killed my poductivity

I am encountering an issue where I am unable to update from within my browser (Help->About). I have confirmed that the policies.json ("C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\distribution\policies.json") has "DisableAppUpdate": false, to ensure I am not blocking myself. As of now if I try to update it gives me a prompt saying: "Updates avaliable at https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new" Is I give myself administrator access then I get normal behavior and the browser begins updating automatically.

The odd thing is if I modify the permissions on C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox directory to allow normal users the ability to write/modify its contents then the Normal User Account is then able to update the browser as desired. The obviously solution is to just modify the permission and allow Normal Users to update. But I am hoping you have a better solution that more precise because I am concerned of the security impact of opening the directory to all users.

Is there a specific file/sub directory I can give them access to that accomplishes the same thing or is there a setting I need to change on the installer that would fix this.
