When I drag the padlock to my desktop to create a shortcut, only a generic page image appears as the icon. How can I get Firefox to include a UNIQUE icon for each webpage? Other browsers, such as Brave, create an icon that is unique for the website it references. This makes it VERY easy to locate and organize all the shortcuts on my desktop.

The images I have included show the (in my opinion) ugly/useless Firefox icon vs. the aethestic/useful Brave icon.

I am trying to add my Android phone as a device to Firefox. I initially invoked the code scanner next to the search bar, but got a message saying that the code had to be scanned from within the Firefox app. So I installed the app and followed these instructions entitled "Connect Another Device".

There is no Turn on Sync option in the Settings menu. I have looked in every menu item that appears even remotely related to syncing with a QR code or adding a device and come up empty.

I found this exact issue in two existing questions, but neither of them had ever been answered, which makes me less than confident that mine will. If there is a Turn on Sync option in Settings, and I just overlooked it, please explain step-by-step where I can find it. If there really is no Turn on Sync option, please provide an alternate method of adding my Android phone.

When I open https://www.washingtonpost.com/ it loads but after a few seconds it goes blank. This started a few days ago and only happens on firefox.

HOW do I stop searches from happening in the URL box? This is DRIVING ME CRAZY. The URL box is not long enough to show complete results and mouse over does not work either, so I PREFER to TAKE THE RISK and search from the search box on the middle of the home page. WHY has FF taken this control away from us? If it is a security issue, I would take the risk as the current problem makes the search suggestions limited in value since you cant see the complete suggestion UNLESS you go to the site

The styles look astonishingly wrong, I really think it is a problem on my end, but cant figure out how to fix it, as you can see in the pictures, text is incorrectly sized and/or justified, color gradients are also weird looking, as well as sizing of many elements and tons of other things.

I have tried to completely remove Firefox from my system and reinstalling it, that did not seem to fix it. The reason I think is is a problem of mine is because i was playing with fonts (emojis weren't working on my system,not on Firefox tho, now they are in both)

I don't think the things i did with the fonts did anything to Firefox, since this problem only showed up on Firefox, but since the problem arrived just after a reboot while I was installing and removing the fonts, I think its important to mention.

To sum up I think the problem comes from my local configuration of Firefox, I probably did not delete it all before reinstalling, I am running (Arch btw) a current version of EndevourOS.

I noticed that a setting on the about:config page was removed: the "security.csp.enable" setting. I was using this setting to disable CSP to be able to load local JS scripts on some non-locally hosted sites, for debugging and development, work related purposes.

Was this setting really removed? Is there a way to disable CSP on Firefox on the latest version?

I have been unsuccessful in finding a solution in searches, so posting here. On one website I use, a machining forum, when I want to reply to a post, I have no text edit options ie bold, italic, emojis, etc. They are there, but grayed. They have worked previously for me. I don't know what changed like a setting on my part or an upgrade. I currently run Firefox version 99.01. I asked on the forum and other users have the same version and no problems. I can access the page with Chrome and on my phone (Android) and no problem so it is not my account. And on other forums, I ie different websites, I can use those functions. I have removed history cache and cookies, restarted Firefox and restarted the laptop.

Any suggestions?

Whenever I use the searchbar in the bookmarks manager, it always searches all of my bookmarks, but sometimes I might only want to search for that query within a specific folder. Is there any way to limit a bookmarks search to only a specific folder rather than the entirety of my bookmarks?

Despite i selected "always show" in the options of the menu toolbar, as indicated in many answers and guides, Mozilla keeps randomly to show or not to show (most of the times) my bookmarks in the top bar. The bookmarks are still there if i press on top on bookmarks in fact they appear, simply they are not anymore in the bar. I have reset several times to default from the options but it doesnt change anything. Any clue? Thank you

Firefox now needs to be clicked on twice before starting. In addition is not reopening previous windows and tabs on startup although this option selected in settings. Is this related to a new version? Thank you!

A recent update to Firefox browser seems to have changed how caching works for websites. I've noticed it mainly with Reddit and their 'random' feature. I can only go to one random sub-reddit and then from that point forward it will only go to that same sub-reddit when I hit the Random link. For instance if I hit random and it takes me to say www.reddit.com/r/Ohio/ then from that point on I only get the Ohio sub-reddit when clicking the Random link. If I clear my cache and reopen Firefox I again get one click on Random and then any further clicks take me to the first, random sub-reddit.

This is not replicated in Microsoft Edge or with Firefox in private windows. I have disabled all of addons to see if one of them was causing this behaviour but it made no change.

Hi, Why do we have double spaced bookmarks forced on us ?. It is an unnecessary nuisance having to now scroll down, with absolutely no advantage. Why o why is it that when the 'developers' ? are let loose the result is always less user friendly. I have only opened an account to let mozilla know that despite being with them for ever, unless you can tell me a simple and permanent fix, i will be changing to another browser. I registered a Yubico security key on Firefox. It crashed, so I sent it back for a refund. I bought another model, but do not want to use it. Websites continue to ask me the security key password and asks me to touch the security. I only used that key one time before it crashed. I can find no place to turn it off for Mozilla apps. Can you reset my account? How do I get websites that have skimpy security to stop asking for a Yubico security and they tell me Firefox requires it. I canceled one facebook account because they have very little security, but the one I used with the Yubico key one time will not let me login. The FB routines to recover a frozen account don't work. Please help Vance

1. What do I need to do so that when I answer questions in an online survey by checking a box a mark actually shows up in that box? Increasingly the box remains blank but I know my question -- which I hope was entered in the right box -- was registered because the "Next" button works.

2. Also, more and more I cannot connect to a website that Firefox thinks may not be safe but it is and I have to "temporarily" inactivate the block. How can we fix that?'

I have credit card autofill enabled, because I do a lot of business online and it is very convenient. Maddeningly, it has started doing something I can't find a way to fix. I put the mouse over the box asking for a credit card number, the saved numbers pop up, I select one, and then the pop-up box disappears without filling in the credit card number. There has got to be a fix for this, but I cannot find it. Pls. advise...

Any way to cast to chromecast with firefox?

It's annoying that I have to use Chrome or Edge to cast youtube to my TV.

Or use my phone. But it's charging atm. So very annoying my favorite browser can't do this simple thing. But all the other browsers can.
