Alright, so. My website uses google font 'Montserrat' and the latest firefox update breaks it. To be honest, I'm sick of having to rollback (see notes below) because all that happens is the damn thing updates again without my permission. It's driving me nuts.
It looks absolutely awful, it's super jagged and just looks nothing like it should.
I think I've isolate at least part of what the problem might be. The 'unicode' font choice in option > content > font & colours is not there. It's stuck on 'latin' and there's no option for unicode.
I have tried fresh installs and all that jazz. The settings are correct except what I mention above. The page is allowed to choose it's own fonts, etc.
I've troubleshoot this issue quite a few times and the only thing that's fixed it is taking an old version from my husbands computer and using that.
If anyone could help shed some light on this I'd be extremely grateful as my site looks stupid without the font rendering correctly!

When I try to view a pdf file that is attached to an email it opens a poor copy with word online, that can't be printed.
When I try and download the pdf file from the email attachment a dialog box ALWAYS pops up asking "what to do with this file?" The dialog already has my default reader selected and the "do this automatically for files like this from now on" box is checked.
Every time I try and download the dialog comes up.
I'm running windows 10, firefox 45.0.1, foxit reader 7.1.5.425. Emails are on outlook.

I've been away for a few days and have just checked Google Calendar on my PC but find it's totally unresponsive. Having searched the Google forum it looks as if folk are saying it's a Firefox issue. Don't know if this is correct, all I know is, I can access Calendar on Android but not using Firefox browser on my PC.

Hello. Some time ago I installed a program on my PC and either Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox started having problems when trying to access some websites (eg: I go to https://www.google.pt and all is good, but if I remove the "s" from https it don't work; Also I am here posting using Mozilla Firefox because this websits is https). I tried a fix I found on youtube, that was changing the chrome.exe name to something like chrome1.exe, worked, but only for a few days. Tried to reinstall Google Chrome and nothing. Later I installed Google Chrome 64 bits and since then I am not having problems with Chrome, but Firefox is still with problem. Microsoft Edge (I've Windows 10) works perfectly. Now talking a bit more about the problem. Trying to access http://www.tecmundo.com.br/ , http://www.google.pt/ , http://agar.io/ , and lots of other webpages, the uploaded message shows (in portuguese, and I dont know how to change language to english quickly). I think it is maybe some adware or so that I installed with that program that is causing the problem, as it's not affecting Edge, didn't affected Chrome when I changed the exe file name and don't affect 64bit Chrome. What would I do? I tried many fixes that I found in this site and nothing is working, so I thank you for help to fix it. Thanks.

Administrator on 64-bit Windows 7 Professional unable to open existing Firefox (45.0.1) or install 46.0.1 (with save or run) -- ALL ATTEMPTS produce this pop-up: "A required privilege is not held by the client."
Version 45.0.1 was working. As I usually do and have done for many versions of Firefox, I downloaded Firefox Setup Stub 46.0.1 with Save rather than Run. However, I could not run it from the download. Firefox was still working. Then I used the Update from inside Firefox (which I presume was the same download), and Firefox has not worked since. I cannot open it with the icon on my taskbar, by using the Start menu, or by clicking on firefox.exe in C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox.
I have spent HOURS searching and reading and trying possible solutions to other problems (not Firefox) where the users had that, or a similar, message. Nothing has worked.
The Securities tab of the Properties of the firefox.exe file shows three "Group or user names" -- SYSTEM, Administrators (with-my-name-here), and Users (with-my-name-again). SYSTEM and Administrators have all "Permissions for Users" allowed (except for "Special permissions" for which neither Allow nor Deny is ticked). Users has ticks to Allow only for "Read & execute" and "Read".
The Advanced Security Settings show me as Administrator as the Owner. I have "Full control" in Permissions (not inherited), and a second entry with me as Administrator also indicates "Full control" (inherited from C:\Program Files (x86)\ for this entry). The SYSTEM entry also has "Full control" (inherited from C:\Program Files (x86)\ . The Users (with-my-name) has a "Read & execute" Permission (inherited from C:\Program Files (x86)\ .
So, I have "Full control".
What does "A required privilege is not held by the client" mean?
Who is the client?
What is the "required privilege"?
And where does one get it?
For a few days I have been receiving pop-ups about updating to a newer version of Thunderbird. Normally I would do so without hesitation (as I have done in the past with Firefox). However, I am now afraid to attempt this in case the same thing happens with Thunderbird and I can't access my emails. At least I can use another browser (as I am obviously doing to post this).
Years ago I used Netscape Navigator (preferred) and Internet Explorer. The first time I used Firefox was at an Internet café on a holiday. I had to learn to use it because it was the only browser on the machines. When I got home, I downloaded Firefox and have been using it ever since. I loved the multiple tabs (which IE did not have at the time). I have IE and Chromodo on my machine, but I only use them for sites that don't work with Firefox (fewer and fewer as the years have gone by).
Can someone help me so that I can return to Firefox? Please?

SUDDENLY all sorts of websites I try to connect to say the site is not secure. Even ones I know are secure such as my bank.
Sometimes it "LETS ME" add an exception and sometimes I just can't connect and it is really really really annoying that my browsing is constantly interfered with.
How do I fix this problem. There is no way 5 sites a day or more are unsecure.

I am regularly getting a blue screen shut down and the error "bad pool caller". The common thread I can tell is it happens when Firefox is running. I am going to use a different browser for a few days to confirm. Also seems to have started occurring after moving to Windows 10. Would having a older video card be a contributing cause? If there are any suggestions or questions please let me know. Thanks Gus50310

When searching google, the keywords I search for and sometimes other words appear in a compressed font. Sometimes, when browsing I see this issue on other websites seemingly randomly. I've had this issue in both Firefox and Chrome, making me think maybe it is an issue with my computer's font, but the compressed text appears next to completely normal looking text. This issue has been here since I bought this used Mac Book Pro. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox and Chrome and have tried disabling any plug-ins and extensions to no effect. It is a bearable problem but irksome and I'd like to fix it if I could. Please see the attached screenshot where I've circled in pink some of the areas.

For the last two weeks or so, every time I open Firefox I get install tabs for each of my add-ons, and have to go through them all to get a session going. So basically it is for some reason not saving the add-on information. I only have a half dozen or so, but it's still annoying when I haven't even had my coffee yet.
The first couple of times I thought that there must have been a Firefox upgrade that required this, but I don't think that makes sense when it keeps happening. The only way to avoid this is by just setting the computer to sleep and leaving Firefox open, but I'm an old (in every sense) tech support person and still have a daily shut down and restart ingrained in my psyche.
I did go into the add-on manager and completely removed a couple that I no longer use. There were also three that were disabled because they couldn't be verified for Firefox, and I can't actually remove those.
I should have saved a screen shot, but haven't yet. I'll do this the next time it happens, probably tomorrow morning.
