I cannot update my Firefox 3.5.2! The "Check for Updates" option under "Help" is greyed out, even though I am an administrator on my computer. My preferences are set to automatically notify me of updates, but no matter how many times I restart Firefox or my computer, it never brings up a window telling me I have updates available. I would really rather update this version that have to install the whole thing over again which is a huge pain. What can I do??

I tried to download Firefox 3.6 but it wouldn't finish loading because of the message " Proxy server refusing connections". How do I over ride this problem? The last couple of days my firefox 3.5.2 has been crashing or locking up almost every time I opened it. It got so frustrating that I tried downloading 3.6 to see if it would work any better. No luck so far. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I run Windows 2000 XP.

I recently got a new Windows 7 laptop. I installed Microsoft Security Essentials then uninstalled the 30 Day Norton trial and installed Thunderbird and Firefox 3.6. Although Internet explorer and Thunderbird have no trouble accessing the internet, Firefox gives a message that it can not find any of the sites I have tried to reach. In an attempt to correct this I went to windows firewall and inserted an exception for both incoming and outgoing traffic for firefox.exe without any change in behaviour. The problem occurs on both my home and work networks. I've uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox a couple of times with no change. I've copied settings from a computer on which it works with no change. Is it possible that some remnant of Norton exists? Can anyone think of what I can do? Thanks.

Hello there! I have been using Mozilla Firefox for a long time. Now I have problems. While I delete characters in firefox, it deletes two characters at once and the arrows (forward, upward, etc.) do not work at all. The forward delete is not working. Please help me. Thanks!

I'm using the latest version of Firefox Sync to synchronise my bookmarks and preferences across three computers. But there doesn't seem to be an option to keep my add-ons/extensions synchronised so that if I install a new one on machine X it automagically gets installed on machines Y and Z. When will you be adding this feature?

We are using Oracle ERP in our company which is a web based ERP system. I am using firefox to work in ERP for convinieince pf working and using internet at the same time. This requires a plugin provided by oracle oajinit.exe to be installed in Plugins it is a JAVA plugin which opens the ERP Screens. This works fine in versions prior to 3.6 version of firefox. However, after upgrading to 3.6 version the forms do not open and firefox crashes. Due to this i am not able to upgrade to the latest version else i'll have to operate the ERP in internet explorer and using firefox for browsing which i do not want. The plugin used for the ERP is "* JInitiator 1.3.1.18 for Netscape Navigator (DLL Helper)"

I just entered an incorrect insert into my browser's Preferences. I think it might just have barely been off by a few blank spaces and now I just want to delete it and try again. But there were warnings beforehand when I opened 'Prefs' to be VERY Careful. I just want to DELETE it. OK? Should be no problem, riight? I don't know what I'm doing. I just followed instructions and made a slight mistake and want to undo it.

when I click on a link to open something in a new window, it opens a new window but it's blank!!! it's driving me nuts and I did update Firefox, but since I thought that was the problem I decided to install an older version of Firefox instead. please help!!!

I am not sure exactly what happened. Logged onto my computer and was greeted by a menu prompting me to download Firefox, as an alternative to Internet Explorer. I had always used Firefox before this event ... I am not sure which version ... and had accu,ulated a number of vital bookmarks. I was next informed of a recommendation to upgrade to the latest version (3.6), and naively did so without saving existing bookmarks. The download was successful, but ALL existing bookmarks were lost. Solutions made available at the HELP section do not apply.

Firefox just doesn't keep me logged in at all. Whatever it's Facebook, Gmail, Youtube, Forums, or what so ever. I turned on the option that when I close Firefox, it will show me the tabs from last session, and it doesn't do that at all.

The text on my web site appears very small when view in Firefox but is normal size when viewed in Internet Explorer can this be changed so the it appears the same in both browsers

I can highlight and delete information that is already in the location bar when I am on a website, but it will not let me enter in text. Typing in simple web addresses is impossible. I have to use the search bar for everything.

I upgraded my work laptop. For security reasons, I uninstalled FF on old laptop. Now, while setting up FF Sync on new laptop, it asked me for account information.

As I setup account months ago, I don't remember anything. I tried resetting my password, but the Username/Password comobo is not matching. I tried looking for an option to have my Username sent to registered email address, but that does not seem to be an option (wierd?).

I am stuck. Is there a way out of this sanctum ?

When I ask for a download, I get a choice of "open" or "save." I sometimes need to save rather than opening and saving, e.g., when I am downloading an "exe" file. When I chose "save," My old Yahoo browser gave me a dialogue box asking me where I wanted the download saved, e.g. to Desktop. My Mozilla browser, however, does not give me such a box but instead just begins saving. I believe it saves the download to a "temp" file which I then cannot locate and copy to the proper location.

I have Kaspersky Pure. It's scanning extends to all browsers, but Password Manager isn't compatible with Firefox 4. While there is a way to get around that, it constantly shows an error while executing and closing the browser. Is there any way around the problem? I was forced to revert to the old version, 3.5.2. I need the latest update of Firefox 3 as well. Where can I get it?

Open Firefox and this message pops up 4x before I get to home page. "Firefox could not install this item because of a failure in Chrome Registration. Please contact the author about this problem." I have removed google chrome , but I still get the message. It pops up about 4x everytime I open Firefox. This is really annoying. Help?
