Hi, I am seeing issues with autoscrolling in 119.0. In Rundeck for example you can "follow" the output of playbooks that are running so you can dynamically see the log as it is written. The autoscrolling in this field has stopped working. When manually scrolling in the field, more messages appear but the autoscrolling is no longer functional. I have also seen it on other places, though I don't have remember good examples to add, so I don't believe it is Rundeck causing the issue--we also haven't updated rundeck recently in our environment, so it shouldn't have changed since before 119.0 was released. Let me know if there is more information I can provide to diagnose the issue.

Hello, I have been a diehard Firefox user since it was still in Beta. I have been using computers personally since 1994 and professionally since 2004, doing Windows and Linux systems administration. I can and will do whatever (within limits) you need me to do to troubleshoot and resolve this issue, which is otherwise going to cause me to abandon this otherwise excellent browser, perhaps forever. The browser.cache.disk.capacity seems to work, but browser.cache.memory.capacity does not.

Why does firefox not respect the assigned values for browser memory cache (browser.cache.memory.capacity)? Is there anything I can do to limit the memory and processor usage of Firefox and its child processes? Is extension CPU/memory usage constrained by the application values? Is there a way to determine and/or limit the resource usage of extensions?

I have included a number of screenshots documenting its behavior and generated an about:memory report during "normal use". After configuring a number of system variables, I then attempted to determine its resource usage under heavy load.

Open the browser with a couple 2, 3 tabs: ~1GB memory usage Use the browser as "normal" (dozens tabs): ~2GB memory usage Open 100+ tabs from history: The CPU and memory resource usage increases until it consumes all available system resources despite configured values. After killing and restarting the process, the tabs have invisible titles in the extension and browser, and must be closed using Ctrl+W until only a few remain after which the browser can be used normally and again consumes ~1GB.

While I understand "just don't open so many tabs", under some circumstances such as poorly written websites, bugs, etc, even single sites may attempt to claim excessive resources. I sometimes run VMs and such on this machine and in order to retain a responsive system, cannot have applications consuming all of the available resources. I have found one proposed solution that uses an external application, is this the only way?

I am open to allowing Firefox to utilize more of the SSD storage (the 1GB limit was imposed for testing) and would be fine with increased slowness due to disk cache or refetching internetworked resources. However, none of the settings I have changed or attempts I have made appear to be able to limit the memory usage in any way. Additional included screenshots are linked above instead of as attachments due to number. I can share or generate additional reports to assist in troubleshooting.

Whenever I open a local HTML file, Firefox tab will crash. This happens if the HTML file size is big (>4MB), smaller file doesn't crash.

I've tried opening the file on Chrome, it doesn't crash and open just fine. So it seems like this is a bug with Firefox.

Hello team I am not an developer but sometimes i use inspector to see if the 'get' requests are working properly. But for some time when i try to close the inspector after i am done ,it just stop and doesn't close. this makes to close the tab while doing something important. When I click bookmarks, tools etc, all the menus are in dark mode. I want them back to normal mode. I had the same problem about a year back and I had to dig in some firefox settings file to revert this dumb and unwanted change, but I cannot for the life of me remember how or where, so any pointers are appreciated. :(

This has been an ongoing issue for sometime with Firefox.

Backstory time. I am a regular shopper on eBay and I get email alerts for things I like to look at and for. Unfortunately, on my Outlook/Hotmail account, in these particular messages, the images don't load properly for some reason. And I would like to know the way to resolve this once and for all. Have sold loads on Ebay using only Firefox as the browser. Tried to list another item a few days ago, and after entering the details on the first page (Item description and section to list it in) couldn't get beyond that page. The next page appeared not blank but as light grey filled rectangles where the text etc should be. Obviously tried reload. Same over the next day or so. In desperation, used Edge. No problems with that, using the same first page which Ebay had stored for me. Just tried again with Firefox - same fault.

What is the definition of desktop view/desktop site?

I did a search. There are answers for how to enable it, but I can't find an explanation for that it is exactly?

When viewing any YouTube HDR videos they appeared washed out. This problem only occurs in Firefox. I've checked the same videos in Safari and Chrome and they look fine. I'm using version 119.0 (64-bit) on a Mac running Ventura 13.4. No extensions are installed in Firefox.

Any help in solving this would be much appreciated :)

I have lost all my Bookmarks - they have the same name, but the icon & address is wrong.

• This is on-going = I cannot Bookmark without it occuring.
• I have attempted to restore to a previous point, but the issue did not resolve.
• This occurs over all my synced devices. (I have now stopped Firefox syncing.)
• The incorrect icon & address is from a 'trusted' site (ie. national govt, email provider etc) that I have previously visited, but never Bookmarked.

Please help as I use Bookmarks professionally & have built an excellent database over many years.

I tried to watch a youtube livestream today and it failed to play. Non-live videos on youtube are playing, even the same videos watched as VODs after the stream ends, but the livestreams are providing "Your browser can't play this video" errors.

Simultaneously, I'm noticing that some videos on Reddit (such as embedded tiktok videos) are stuck with a circling ring and won't play. At least some of the same videos will play on Tiktok (when I can find them).

ALSO, when I try to watch videos on my Nebula subscription, I'm getting a "This video could not be loaded: 4" error code. ANY video on Nebula.

What the heck gives?!

I can't 'talk' to my gateway. I logged in as admin, but that was all. I don't know what version of TLS my gateway supports and FFox doesn't support. What does that matter to sensible people? It's in the local network for goodness sake.

I could generate even 3000 tabs when i was peaking reading philosophy... Browsers are so moronic and UI didn't change since 1999, is there some addon for managing large amounts of tabs and organizing them, saving them for later? It is information age, we literally work with so many information, yet UI is so moronic it leads to information overload, not to mention i can't work efficiently like this...

I don't know if this is a firefox or windows issue. A few weeks ago my tag line disappeared from the History>All History page. The column is available but every single page I tagged no longer has anything written in the column. I used sort by tag to keep pages I use often instead of hunting through hundreds of booked mark sites. Don't know what happened, the sites are still there but in my history but I need to be able to sort by tag. Is there a way to get the tag line back?
