When I am on a google play store app page, the green download button doesn't work.

What happens: 1. Click the green button 2. The round google processing-icon appears on the page briefly 3. Nothing happens, page does not render a pop-up stating the app will be installed on my device

What I tried:

  • Turn off ublock: problem persits
  • Disable all add-ons: problem persits
  • A clean portable version: problem persits
  • Tried on a clean portable google chrome install: everything works (app get's installed)

Problem started 4 or 5 days ago...

I am running Firefox portable 64bit on windows 10. I can just install from the android playstore app, but I need it to work on my desktop like it has always worked.

I someone could help, I'd really appreciate this.

Recently I’ve been receiving a 522 timeout error in Firefox attempting to reach URL www.cocoontech.com. The 522 is returned from Cloudflare’s reverse proxy servers (see uploaded image). However, I can successfully reach that URL using Chrome and MS Edge browsers. Only Firefox receives the 522 error. I can access numerous other websites with Firefox, so it seems to be isolated to just www.cocoontech.com. I’ve looked at numerous settings in Firefox, but have not seen anything that seems relevant to this issue.

Any ideas where to look to resolve this issue?

It has become impossible to use Firefox. It does not load/display captchas. All sites I visit which require a captcha verification to log in, is now inaccessible. That include google and discus. Google maps are also not responding when typing an address.

I have searched for solutions but all I tried did not solve the problem.

I now have to use two browsers, which is a senseless exercise. Please help with this problem.

I use windows 10 pro firefox v 77.1

Sometimes when closing Firefox, something has opened a new browser session that i didn't know about, and I close it too, and since it only has one tab open, it becomes the save session with only that open tab, thus i lose all my tabs from the first session, how do i recover all my tabs them from the first session? Sometimes, if Firefox has crashed, it asks if you want to recover your previous tabs, but only if it crashed! I would like an option to force that same recovery when you open Firefox and all your previous tabs are gone and replaced by one stupid tab you really didn't even want in the first place and not have to find every previous tab one at a time. If there was a recent history of sessions or at least the previous 2 sessions we could recover all the lost tabs from that first session! This has happened many, many times to me and if very frustrating to loose all my open tabs and have to start opening all my old tabs that i use all the time!

Firefox unexpectedly exits

In the last couple of days, Firefox has started unexpectedly exiting.

It doesn't show an error message on screen or create a Firefox crash report - it just vanishes - but it does create a WER log and entry in the Windows Application error log. It doesn't necessarily exit when it has the focus in response to user interaction - some times I'll be doing something else, and try to tab back to Firefox, and it's just gone. Mean time between crashes is about 30 minutes - not "instantly" or "on startup" but enough to be unlivable with.

I have reinstalled Firefox, checked that it is up to date (73.0.1 (64-bit)), and disabled all my plugins except 1Password (I can't really use a browser without the 1Password plugin so if it doesn't work with it on, it's the same as it not working at all)

SSL client certificates do not work on Firefox 74.0 64-bit (Windows 10) and smartcards as expected. The smartcard gets accessed via PKCS #11 library.

When the client certificate is placed into the software security module, Firefox can send it to the requesting web server and it works as expected.

Once the very same certificate was successfully imported into a smartcard and removed from the software security module, authentication fails in Firefox with "SEC_ERROR_LIBRARY_FAILURE". The nginx web server reports: SSL_do_handshake() failed (SSL: error:14094438:SSL routines:ssl3_read_bytes:tlsv1 alert internal error:SSL alert number 80) while SSL handshaking, client: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx, server: 0.0.0.0:443

When using Chrome, the same client certificate from the same smartcard gets used and successfully connects to the web server.

Is there a known issue for this? How can this problem be narrowed down? Is there some kind of debug log file to get further information?

From December 24th I have been unable to sign in to PayPal from Firefox. The error message (see the attached screen shot) is apparently something about exchanging certificates with Google, and includes the error code

SSL_ERROR_ACCESS_DENIED_ALERT

At first I suspected that my security SW (F-Secure SAFE) played a role, but that is not the case for I can sign in to PayPal from Edge. Anyway, my searching with that buzzword suggests that the problem is related to Firefox.

I absolutely don't want to switch to another browser, but I also need PayPal at various sites I frequent.

Searching pointed me to this query but renaming the file SiteSecurityServiceState.txt did not help. Nor did the other suggestion of making FF "forget" PayPal (or Google) from within the History.

It displays strange characters on pages including Yahoo mail. The attached screen shot shows a bank email, but it happens with other non-secure stuff too like general web pages. This has been happening with version 81.0 and the previous version. If I open the same page in Chrome, it will display the characters normally. I did see the strange characters appear in Chrome one time, but it happens in FF quite frequently.

Deleted certificate comes back undeleted

Version: 91.0.1 Settings--> Privacy and Security -->View Certificates-->Your certificates--> pick target cert to delete-->click ok on confirmation window --> click ok on Certificate manager window.

Restart FF, Settings--> Privacy and Security -->View Certificates-->Your certificates, the deleted cert is on the list again.

The same happens on that under Authorities.

I had a lot of important bookmarks in Firefox without signed in Firefox account on my old PC. Before moving away from that old PC, I signed in to firefox account to it connect Firefox data with my mail and account. I even tested that in way that I signed out from my account, removed all the data from Firefox, and when I signed in again, it was all there. It was about 5 months ago. Now, on my new PC, when I signed in with same account, there is no any those bookmarks. I tried to restore bookmarks, but it offers me only two time points in past for restoring, and none of those gives me back bookmarks or any other data. I didn't use that account with Firefox until now. Please help, there was a lot of important bookmarks to me for work.

I've unfortunately encountered this error over the course of two days randomly. The website will work for an hour, and then I'll get this error, so on and so forth. Microsoft Edge has the same issue, my phone's browsers have the same issue (DuckDuckGo, Chrome), but from all of my research, the website is fine. My roommate's phone connects to the site just fine.

I've read a lot of conflicting information on what to do about this error, and clearly waiting it out doesn't seem right since it appears to be entirely on my end. Restarting doesn't help, reinstalling Mozilla doesn't help, I'm out of ideas.

The website is responds to pings and appears to be online on other devices (just not my own), other websites work fine, so I'm completely lost.

Any information on what to do next, let me know.

Hi, I upgrade Firefox to 89.0.2 from the previous version. The installer "locked-up" during the installation process. I am using Win 7 on a Dell Inspiron 64-bit laptop (2017) with plenty of memory. Never had problems before. The installer locks and I have to stop it via Windows Task Manager (setup.exe *32). I have reloaded the "Firefox Setup 89.0.2.exe" file several times, reloaded the previous version... no avail. It locks up. I tried to start the Firefox even if not fully installed, using Firefox.exe It stated that it did not close properly and to "refresh", which I did, the program browser started after saying "success", but then stopped responding (screen locked-up) while showing me the usual Firefox screen (i.e. with all my previous opened tabs, bookmarks...) After having deleted the program manually from its location, reloading it several times - the same issues took place. Can someone help, me? Thank you, Ciao, L

HIgh memory usage seems to continually increase!

I realise that Firefox uses up a lot of Memory (particularly as it tries to run each Tab separately). However, my Firefox seems to keep increasing its usage!

I can start with a number of Tabs open & (after refreshing each Tab - to ensure it is "lice" & "active") I will get (according to Windows Task Manager) about 1,300MB in use.

Without opening up any more Tabs & without trying to run any Web-Based Videos, over a period of a few hours it will increase & increase & increase - perhaps getting up to 4,000MB!

I've cross checked with "about:performance" (to open FF's own Task Manager), to show the individual Tab usage, & that NEVER totals up to anywhere near the figures shown by the Windows Task Manager!!

Obviously, my FF is fully up to date!

Any comments!
