There was a clear indication that simply resetting Firefox would save passwords while hopefully improving performance. BUT ALL LOCKWISE PASSWORDS AND LOGONS HAVE APPARENTLY BEEN LOST. There are online instructions to copy/paste all data in the Old Firefox Data fldr to the "new profile fld" in 'about:profiles'. But the lost passwords still do not appear. Can anyone explain:

(1) is it possible to recover lost passwords from Old Firefox Data ? (2) why this happened despite false re-assurance that passwords would not be lost ?

Thanx. Boiling Madman

I have implemented the Google tag manager in our website, because of which our site navigation(Including the anchor tag's) are not working in Firefox private window.

Disabling the Tracking protection and removing the google tag manager script fixes the issue. But, we need to use the Google tag manager in our website for our site.

Note: The site is working fine with Google tag manager & Tracking protection enabled in firefox normal window. Problem only arises in the private window.

Please let me know about this. Below is the firefox version which is used.

Firefox version: 91.0.2 (64-bit) OS : Windows 10 64-bit

A few months ago Firefox decided to double space all the items in menus. Reading through the forums many people didn't like this because of the amount of space that the menus now take up. Fortunately there was a work around, by setting 'browser.proton.contextmenus.enabled to false they returned to normal

This morning Firefox my got upgraded and the double spacing problem is back again. However there appears to be a bug with the setting and the menus won't return to normal. I'm now stuck with stupidly large menus that won't fit on the screen and lots of painful scrolling.

Does anybody have an alternative workaround until this is fixed?

Several people have complained and NOBODY is listening. I specifically switched to FF so I don't have to deal with intrusive sites. FF I thought claimed to be UNLIKE GOOGLE and was more "private," so why are you putting in a Google browser/plugin/extension and forcing it to run on our PC's? I have enough crap on it taking up MEMORY and slowing it down, don't force anything people do NOT want. Just because these might be popular with many does NOT mean everybody wants it. Get rid of Google, Bing, Amazon, DuckDuckGo, eBay, Wikipedia, and WHATEVER else you are forcing us to run on FF.

Does FF have an agreement or partnering with these companies to TRACK US where ever we go on the internet? Looks like it. Per Wikipedia: DuckDuckGo earns revenue by serving ads from the Yahoo-Bing search alliance network and through affiliate relationships with Amazon and eBay. OK, so we have 4 of those And this at https://www.comparitech.com/blog/vpn-privacy/best-private-search-engine: DuckDuckGo displays ads for affiliate sites in the right sidebar, which is a little less aggressive than Google which presents ads at the top of search results. It earns additional profits from commissions from sites like Amazon and eBay, so you may want to be wary if those pop up a lot in search results. Also: As DuckDuckGo’s CEO, Gabriel Weinberg, explains in a Quora answer, the search engine does use your IP address to serve local results.

Why is FF pushing these sites when many of us do NOT use them nor want them? Why don't you add them as extensions where you can CHOOSE it if you wish? I found instructions on how to delete them in the FF File Explorer folder because merely deleting them in Settings does NOT remove them permanently as FF has them "hidden," however, they just come back and it messed up other add-ons. ALSO, these add-on's you are forcing on us is TAKING SPACE on my PC and I resent that.

I do NOT want to HIDE THEM, I want them REMOVED PERMANENTLY.

Download doesn't even prompt, link just doesn't open the save file window, while dling a (1.3gb) file from gdrive (cannot run virus scan warning). Using linux with ff 91.0.2 (64bit) for manjaro linux - written below that is "Manjaro - 1.0" Similar problem with this and other the same kind https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1305970 except none of the solutions seem to work, tried to disable everything and add gdocs to all whitelists. Works perfect with same sync in windows 7, even with ALL protections and addons ENABLED. Also works in linux with chrome based browser. So it kind of has to be firefox (this manjaro edition) error?

I truly hope the developers at least refer to this site for concern requests for fixes.

It seems every about:config fix for the spacing of the bookmarks as well as the photon/proton fixes are doing nothing on Firefox version 91.

Is there anyway to get a simple checkbox that fixes the views for desktop? The whole world is not working on tablets or phones and this is so frustrating to see functionality continually broken with updates that are obviously required because of security issues that plague the online world.

Can any developers please respond to when users can see a fix to this issue? I know this is far from life ending but it breaks the visual aspect of the browser so badly.

I posted previously about this and mistakenly believed the issue had been resolved. I was mistaken also about the exact nature of the problem. This was the previous question: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1348162

The browser crashes whenever I quit or attempt to restart. By restarting I mean selecting Troubleshoot Mode from the menu or pressing the button to delete the start-up cache and restart. I found a rather specific & fatal issue which causes Firefox to stop responding completely & needs to force quit.

If I copy any normal text content from a LibreOffice document & attempt to paste it into FF URL bar as a search term, the moment I select paste FF will stop responding & no text is pasted.

I have tried pasting text from other sources such as Gedit or an email, but that is fine. It is specifically text copied from LibreOffice (writer, v7.2)

I am using FF 91 on Gnu/Linux Manjaro 21.1

Today is the day I cannot use Firefox anymore. It keeps on blocking webservers in my local network because of a self-signed certificate.

It is a shame, I have been a loyal Firefox user since Netscape. Today marks the beginning of the end of this journey. A pitty.

So, Chrome it is from now on.
