I was using Firefox 52.0.2esr and it was working fine. I got a Microsoft Update and after that it would not open after being launched. I am using Chrome browser and have troubleshooted renaming profiles which did not work. I have uninstalled, rebooted, and reinstalled ver 49.0.1 and I still have the problem. I have run my Virus, Malware, and Spyware and it is clean. Firefox shows in Task Manager as running but the window never opens. I have killed the process subsequently to doing everything I have said above. Please help. I do not like using Chrome but it's the only other internet browser that is working on my XP PC.

The listed solution for installing Outlook.live.com mailto hasn't worked for me on Firefox 49.0.1.

I get the appropriate response when installing the "string" via the Web Console and I've clicked on "Add Application" and selected "Use Outlook.com OWA to" as my default mail, but when I invoke "Email Link" to send an email, the "To:" field is not blank, but populated with a long string (attached). The body of the email is blank

ANYTIME I use firefox on win 10 it crashes. Anywhere between 30 seconds and 2-4 minutes, it WILL crash. My box is new (and fast). Flash is current. JAVA is installed. I am using Version 49.0.1

For the past few days some videos will not play in firefox, not on my laptop, my kindle fire and my galaxy 3 phone, and yet the videos work on any other browser (Chrome, Pale Moon, Edge) I have on my devices. It either says, "if playback doesn't begin shortly, try restarting your device" or the swirling circle just keeps on swirling to a black background.

I fix computers for a living and have done all of the standards: restarted my laptop, cleared cache/cookies, tested in safe mode, un/re-installed firefox, my drivers are the way they are supposed to be, ensured my plugins are all active and I had the latest versions of flash, java, and real player.

Then I went up a notch: installed a VLC add-on, disabled hardware acceleration and restarted ff, made sure my firewall and antivirus programs trust plugin-container.exe, and followed the instructions from here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/fix-video-audio-problems-firefox-windows,

What gives? And why doesn't FireFox have a fix for this miserable problem?

SOLVED (for me): Installing YouTube Flash Player helped, but only for the youtube video part: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/youtube-flash-player/?src=ss

Going to about:config, and changing media.autoplay.enabled from false to true, then restarting FF, fixed the remainder of the video problem.

can anyone see me through deleting FF completely as it got too confusing which/how files to save before

i will reinstall it . Refresh ff and new profile dont do as promised and remove ad ons etc

however once i start firefox in safemode it keeps the win aero theme. its a fresh install of firefox and the only thing i have noticed is in the new version of firefox the exit and minimize buttons are gone. and when i start in safe mode they come back along with firefoxes ability to run without changing my windows theme to basic again. been searching the internet for days on this and cant find a conclusion Thanks for all your help

When I went to the official Firefox Add-On site (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/seamonkey/addon/lightning/) & tried to install Lightning in Firefox 49.01.1 I received a message that Firefox has prevented this site from installing an unverified Add-on. Following up on this, I understood that Firefox would not allow an unverified or unsigned Add-on from being published on the official site.

A little time ago I set up the Firefox right - to make the things my way from A to Z. The mainest part of it was installing Download Sort add-on: https://addons.mozilla.org/rU/firefox/addon/download-sort/ I find all the other ways, even this ( https://support.mozilla.org/ru/kb/upravlenie-tipami-fajlov ) sick: if you need to download images or music quiet often, you won't be able to surf comfortably, just because you will be in the downloading dialog all the time. Or, another way - you will face the default downloading folder, fullfilled with all the trash, usorted, chaotic, more like a scrapyard.

The way Download Sort did it let you skip the downloading dialog, then - place EVERY kind of file (or named in special way) in folder you chose before, even the auto-created folders - based on date, domain or the temperature on Mars. I find this not too hard for casual user to set up your own folder system and have everything in order. So...

My question is - why didn't you make the same thing, at least as alternative way? This is a future, no browser has it! The adition - why did you ruined the way Download Sort works? It fixed your huge mistake with downloading ugliness.

At one point last night, Firefox was not responding, so I forced it to quit. That took a while, and I had no idea why, so I shut down the computer. When I started Firefox up again, there was a dialog box that said Firefox was trying to install a 'helper add-on (or something--I don't remember) and it opened my administrator log-in box. I cancelled it. In case this comes up again, what is this helper and can I install it without fear of installing something bad? Thanks.

My Pocket button and "my saved list" button in bookmars are completely missing. I tried resetting my buttons by "set default" in UI settings but it didn't help.

extensions.pocket.enabled shows true extensions.xpiState shows false about:support shows Pocket 1.0.4 false

I don't want to reinstall firefox, create new profile etc. because I have lots of add-ons and don't want to reconfigure it again :/

Firefox displayd an empty item called View Pocket List near the top of the bookmark menu. I don't know what it is; I don't want to know. I just want to get rid of it so it doesn't uselessly take up space every time I open the menu.

It doesn't appear in the Show All Bookmarks window, so I can't delete it directly. I looked for instructions and found a Mozilla Support page titled "Disable Pocket for Firefox," which says:

Remove Pocket from your toolbar or menu 1. Right-click on the Pocket icon. 2. Select Remove from Toolbar.

Great. But when I right-click the Pocket icon on the menu, there IS no Remove from Toolbar item. The menu contains these entries: Open All in Tabs; New Bookmark; New Folder; New Separator; Paste (disabled); and Show Recently Bookmarked.

How do I get rid of this thing?

Hi, so I started learning to develop websites a while ago, and all was good. However, recently I've had an issue. When I make a change and I'd like to refresh the page, to see it how someone visiting for the first time would see it, the page reloads, however it's exactly the same. For example, I've got 2 buttons. When button 1 clicked, button 2 gets disabled. Refresh the page and... button 2 is still disabled. In other browsers, both buttons return to their "default state". Shift-clicking the reload button does in fact refresh the page as expected. But a normal click, even if the webpage was retrieved from cache, should at least refresh the page, right? I've tried refreshing firefox, so add-ons are not the issue, and this hasn't been an issue before, any help is appreciated.

Usually when I open Firefox I have my Optimum homepage. Now I have a folder with a tab that says "New Tab". I contacted Optimum to be sure I had a connection and I do. I was unable to type their address in the bar - it is inactive. Sometimes when I move the cursor around the homepage jumps in but the topics in the line above do not respond. Thank you in advance for your help.

I used to be able to simply print a pdf document from google docs or my Etsy invoices. Now, I have to "save" before printing. There have been various updates (I don't keep track,) but I hope somebody can help me just print from my browser!

I have the Firefox 49.o.1 and Windows 7 OS and Adobe Acrobat XI Standard.

I have tried switching the add-ons between the built-in extensions and Adobe's extension.

Any ideas?

I have successfully installed several Add-ons and the "icon" for each one does not appear anywhere (Menu/Customize, toolbar, Tools). However, they all appear in Add-ons. I am reopening this post because the instructions out in Support are too vague for me because I am a basic user and not a developer. I previously posted here and have gotten no responses. I am using Vista and FF Version 49.0.1. I DO NOT want to refresh and loose all my Add-ons.

I did follow this unsuccessfully:

[Exit Firefox completely, then open your Firefox profile folder (read the linked article for its location) and delete or rename these files:

   extensions.ini FOUND
   extensions.cache UNFOUND
   extensions.rdf FOUND

Starting in Firefox 4, also delete or rename:

   extensions.sqlite FOUND
   extensions.sqlite-journal (if found) UNFOUND

You may also need to delete or rename the compatibility.ini FOUND file, to rebuild some other files in the profile folder.

Note: Although the above files can be deleted, renaming them (e.g., "extensionsOLD.ini", "extensionsOLD.cache", etc.) is generally considered a safer option. This achieves the same result, but allows the user to retrieve any possibly required information from them later on.]

I attempted opening the Browser Console and looking for errors but quickly discovered I was in OVER MY HEAD!

Programming in PHP. kind of a form (actually it is not a form but it uses form elements - js is used to submit.) When submitting, data is stored in session variable, and the page is reloaded, same form is shown, with data modified (formattet different). This shows data the way the user typed them - not the way PHP formats them.

Useless.

And yes, I have verified, with a different display section, that PHP is actually doing what it's supposed to - but firefox does not display data in input lines, the way they are programmed - they do not display the programmed value, but the value the user typed last time.

Likewise the web tool, does not show the actual sourcecode, but a modified version of it. Selecting "View Source" does not give the same source as "Inspect element"....

How do I bypass this "Content Security Policy" thing as I am trying to purchase an item on eBay through paypal and linked to my visa card. Thank you for any assistance.
