I am in Limerick Ireland & use Firefox as my main browser, but when it returns google search results, it converts to Russian. Scrolling down to the bottom of the page, the location is given as UKRAINE. As mentioned I am in Ireland, and my stated preferred language is ENGLISH. I am concerned and more than a little irritated as it is not easy to report problems
For security, I use Bitdefender total security which includes a VPN on an iMAC.
Thank you for your help in advance

Hello Community,
i am currently using Firefox with the english and german language pack enabled. This way it displays the user-interface in german. I think that this eventually comes somehow from the system preferences..
if i deactivate the german language pack the user interface is in english - that is what i really want. but with a slight twist.. i don't like the currency, date and time formats. (it switches to the PM/AM and Month/Day/Year and so on..)
So i would like to combine the German currency, date and time formats with the english user-interface language. is this possible?
in my Operating System (Kubuntu 17.10) i have done this mix successfully. - so in theory the system already knows what i want...
any ideas on this are greatly appreciated.
sunny greetings stefan

About 2 weeks ago my ads on websites started appearing in German rather than English. Also, notice from websites asking if I accept the use of cookies now appear in German (I think that's what they're saying). I don't know what I may have done to cause this. How can I switch these back to English?
I have added a Finnish language pack and schwitched it on, but it doesn,t work. Firefox 59.0.1

Just as the question says... don't want to see or have to de-select the 'default' US English in either spell-check or language selections. I have add-ons for French and English English which I use regularly but can't seem to find a solution to remove the US version. It isn't listed in the dictionaries list I can access so any help would be most appreciated.
Thanks in advance UK

The language of my computer is English and during the last update I get the Dutch version. I am travelling a lot and for me the English vesion is the best because nevermind the land where I am...my computer has always the same language than I can understand the best.. I am at the moment in Holland and I have get the Dutch version..fortunately I am not in Hungary..I should get the Hungar version. So you could understand why I prefer English. How it is possible to stay always with the Englidh version?

The language selector menu from the right-click menu doesn't print out correctly the language name of the spellchecker dictionary.
I have installed the venetan dictionary (language code ISO639-3 vec) I've created (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/dithionario-de-lengua-v%C3%A8neta/?src=ss) but in the right-click menu appears the language "vec" alongside my default "English (United States)". Why doesn't it spell out "Venetan"? Is there something I did wrong?

Just because I occasionally go to German websites, Firefox decided tochange my browsing to German. So now I can't pay for things I want to buy, because Firefox brings up pay input sites in German, with European zip code fields, which do not match the US fields. I have followed forum advice and cleared cookies and cache, no help. I checked my settings in Google Chrome, that says English. This is unbelievably frustrating. I NEVER asked any program to just mess with my language setting.

The Language selector menu from the right-click menu does not select the chosen language to use for spell checking.
I have only 1 dictionary installed, the British english dictionary, but both United kingdom and United states appear in the language menu. Selecting either of these does not work, there's no checkmark or anything next to the selected language. The spell checker works except for US/GB word spelling differences.
This started a few months ago and despite having all updates and even trying a new profile nothing seems to get the language selector to work.

While typing a message in Google Hangouts within Google Mail's web interface, it is impossible to enter the letter ć. The combination for the letter is RightAlt + c on most widely used Polish keyboard layout, that is Polish Programmer's Keyboard. Curiously enough, this problem **only affects Firefox browsers**, tested both stable and on Developer Edition. Opera and Chrome allow entering the letter just fine. Other specifically Polish letters don't seem to be affected.
This has already been confirmed by multiple reports to Google, as witnessed here: https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!msg/hangouts/S0wHpl_lCOs/ZXHVIHz8DQAJ, but no solution has been offered as of this time.

I cannot get this sorted, I live in Vietnam, that's it, I don't speak the lingo + therefore I've obviously never selected any options, or anything in V'mese, but I'm plagued by it!! It's sporadic, yahoo homepage, google stuff + so on, I went to hook up my gmail to a new mail client I've got + the gmail stuff was all in V'mese + that was that. I'm no tech guy, no one at support is either, from what I can make out, is setting things up in English, just English, so involved?? Apparently it is, anyone got any ideas I'd be most grateful............either that or I'll move, or maybe just learn the bloody language!?!?!
