Probably not the right topic as you don't offer many. But for the SECOND time now, when I boot up computer my bookmarks are gone. I finally retrieved them the first time, it took a LONG time to find what would help doing it. Now I have to do it again.

The question is, WHY IS THIS SUDDENLY HAPPENING? WHAT is causing it? How can it be stopped?

Firefox closed the browser for an automatic update two days ago, and when it came up back after the update all my open windows and tabs simply disappeared. History tab was reset to a blank page, there was no trace of anything. I tried the access through 'Menu / History / Recently closed windows' or '.../ Recently closed tabs' and they were both blank, empty, zero, nada ... This is the first time it happens to me, and I'm surprised and disappointed that such a predictable and basic bug shows up on an update.

I have a couple dozen tabs I use for task f-ups, it' unproductive and annoying to get them all back up to work. If this happens again I doubt I keep using Firefox as my preferred browser.

1. Anybody else suffering the same issue?
2. Is there a cure for the problem?

Let’s say I have 20 tabs open, which I don’t quite remember anymore but occasionally return to. Naturally, I have the browser set to restore all tabs on startup. At some point, for one reason or another, a second browser window opens in the background. I close my main browser window, and I’m left with just this second window. When I close that one too and then reopen the browser, I no longer see my 20 tabs — I only see that second window with a single tab. In the Firefox View menu, I don’t see my 20 tabs in the list of recently closed tabs or in the list of open tabs. Is this expected behavior? Are there any plans to fix this?

Today my Firefox browser updated & all my bookmarks have disappeared. In place of my Bookmark toolbar is just "For quick access, placeyour bookmarks here on the bookmarks toolbar. Manage bookmarks(link). The bookmarks side bar is empty. I've followed the instructions to try to recover them but the page(Goes there from the "Manage Bookmarks" link) they send me to has no functionality. Whatever I enter goes nowhere, whatever I select. I've tried several different routes from the support/help pages to resolve but always end up at this dumb page. How do I get my bookmarks back when the tools to do so don't seem to want to work?

I am writing to report an issue I’ve been experiencing with your browser. Despite setting the startup option to “Continue where you left off,” my open tabs are not being restored when I reopen the browser.

I have already taken the following steps to troubleshoot the issue:

   Confirmed that “Continue where you left off” is enabled in the settings

   Ensured I am not using incognito/private mode

   Disabled all extensions to rule out conflicts

   Verified that the browser is up to date

   Checked for tab recovery options in history

Even after trying all these measures, the problem persists. I kindly request your assistance in resolving this issue.

As of a few days ago all my bookmarks disappeared and I can't save anything to bookmarks nor can I type a couple letters of frequently used websites and the url automatically comes up. Jenny

Last night my computer asked me to install an update (not sure if it was Mac or Firefox whose upgrade it was). Although when I restarted, it's closed out all of my firefox windows (does not allow me to restore session), and all of my book marks are also gone.

Is there any way to get these back?

Your update has erased every bookmark I had, no gmail, no YT, NOTHING is left. my history is erased. Thank you for destroying my computer. WHY DID YOU DO THIS TO ME?

I have a new PC and using the same account in both old and new (jrallen@umn.edu). The sync mechanisms are on, but the new machine seems to have only a few of the bookmarks from the old machine. It seems like they are missing or invisible. I only have "Other Bookmarks" available.

I ran into a glitch in another program, and as part of trying to fix it I rebooted my computer. On doing so, I find that the VAST majority of the tabs I had open in my main browsing window have disappeared - some of them out of tab groups I'd created to avoid losing the tabs in question. Neither tab history nor browser history show the missing tabs.

What gives?! Is there any way to restore the window as I had it, say, yesterday?

Dzień dobry. Jest możliwość przywrócenia zakładek, które przypadkowo nadpisałem podczas synchronizacji przeglądarki w dwóch urządzeniach. Nie robiłem kopi zapasowej. Nadpisały mi się zakładki nie ta jak miało być.

New Firefox update from yesterday has wiped out ALL bookmarks and appear irretrievable.

This happened once before but I was able to restore them.

This time, every bookmark folder is empty - restoring history seems to be available but only goes back to early today.

I have tried every support advice I can find and no matter what I do passwords are not restoring. Here is what I have done: Opened about:profiles Opened profile folder Exit firefox transfer key4.db and signons.jstor files from backup to the new folder

Nothing happens.

I have tried creating new folders and following those steps. I have tried everything.
