I recently updated Firefox and have lost my passwords and bookmarks. i have visited the many pages to instruct how to go to a previous profile, but have been unsuccessful as I cannot locate some of the folders in the instructions.

Please advise.

Hi.

I can´t use firefox 116 and up, with sandboxie in every version. Firefox hang up during the start. But this not happen with firefox 115.0, even if I update over firefox 116 or when I start firefox every version without sandboxie. With edge this not hapen. My sistem is w10 x 64, firefox without extensions, and I have uninstall/reinstall, create a new profile, open in safe mode with firefox and sandboxie many times.

Can anyone help. Thanks in advance.

I'm having an issue when saving bookmarks, I'll find a nice recipe, save it to my recipe folder, little blue star will show on the page showing its bookmarked but when I go to the folder, it's nowhere to be seen. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong here, it use to work just fine before.

Hey, I switched from Windows to Mac and see a different behaviour in how cookies in private mode are handled. On Windows closing a private window clears everything, especially it logged me out from all websited I logged in in this private session.

Not on Mac I am still logged in in private windows after I close and reopen a new one. Also the zoom level ist kept.

Is this a bug or intended behavior having a private window that keeps all my logins in new sessions? And why is it different on Windows and Mac?

sometimes on some websites, whenever i type, copy or paste something, the text just repeats itself and its kinda annoying because it makes the website longer and harder to navigate and use and read. any fix for this?

After removing other elements, I'm left with a map, which I was able to expand to the top and sides, but not the bottom area.

Everything (and I mean everything) is going at Tortoise speed Laptop crashed Laptop rebooted - blanked screen Rebooted, wait 5 minutes for task bar population Select icon, wait to open Give up, try another

Click on a filename - wait 30 seconds - nothing happens, check Task Manager, wait 1/2 minute for that to open Open Explorer - "Not responding" , go to anything else "Not responding" "Save" - "Not responding"

I daren't backup as it would take a week at this rate

Can you tell me how to reverse please please please. It was all good until yesterday

I use userChrome.css and userContent.css to (1) turn unvisited links bright red, and (2) turn visited links bright purple, and (3) add underlines to all links.

This works well on light backgrounds, makes links easy to see and easy to distinguish from other text, but makes them harder to see on pages with dark backgrounds.

Is there a way to vary the link color to improve contrast? I can't use the default colors because most sites use blue links which are hard to distinguish from black text.

When I am leaving the browser idle for long periods, I get crashes.

The spell checker isn't working for me. I've found old answers to this:

"You can see which dictionary is selected if you right-click in a text area and open the Languages sub menu. At least one dictionary should be installed and have a check mark to indicate that it is selected.

   open the "Add Dictionaries" link to install a dictionary if you do not have one. 

The spelling checker is enabled if [X] "Check Spelling" in the right-click context menu has a checkmark.

You can enable or disable spell checking globally:

   Options/Preferences -> General: Language and Appearance: "Check your spelling as you type"

Note that for spell check you need a dictionary. A language pack provides string translations for the user interface.

I don't find 'language' because I don't know where to find a "text box containing more than one line" I'd have thought this was one, but the option does not come up here when I right click.

I realise this is probably me being dense, but can someone help in simple terms, please? Thanks.

Hello, I am trying to print labels from the web on a Dymo labelmaker. When I select no margins it prints on far left of label and cutting part of the text off. When I choose custom margins it prints very small and does not change regardless if I change the margins to 0 or change the size to 200%. When I print it in chrome it works perfectly fine.

/edit: removed space before "I am" to removed horizontal scroll bar.

DRM add-on seems broken after update. Obviously this renders ALL the streaming sites I pay for useless. How do I fix it? The people who make the plug-in won't talk to end users and anyway I got it to work after DL-ing another browser (Opera). I like FF but their unwanted updates only seem to cause problems and take away features I like. Is there any way short of moving to another browser that can fix this? All my streaming DRM sites I pay for seem to be broken now. I have brand a new Win11 Asus ROG Strix 17 that had been working fine until last night when I made the mistake of updating FF. As noted, a refresh didn't help. Frankly this is insane, and I'm finally done with FF unless someone comes up with a fix for this.

(menu bar) Firefox > Preferences I see this in hundreds of links for help. But it does NOT exist. Please do NOT tell me to go to menu bar and click on Firefox. It is NOT there. It just is NOT there. There is no tab, link, drop down or ANY thing that says Firefox. There is no tab, link, drop down or ANY thing that says Preferences. The menu bar is there. File Edit History Bookmarks Tools Help. But NO Firefox and NO preferences. I want my page to show the |||\ at the top. But I do not want the bookmarks tool bar at the top. I do NOT want Picture in Picture to show at the top. I do not want the bookmark star to show inside the url. Where and how do I fix these things???

Earlier today (well, it's yesterday now) Firefox was updated to 116 and since then it won't download any images or other files from anywhere. I've set a default download directory and when I click "Save image as...", that image should appear in the preset directory but it doesn't. I have two extensions for downloading images and they work just fine, only the default function of firefox doesn't work. Here's a short video showing the problem:

I tried downgrading Firefox to 115.0.3 but that didn't fix the problem and I'm out of ideas how to fix it. I'm 100% sure it's a firefox problem bc I tried saving images with Opera and Chromium and there was not a single problem with that task in either of these browsers.

I use Cozi.com for recipes, and I always used to run it in firefox, but in the latest version 115.0.2 For Ubuntu linux, it does not allow me to edit entries, or even add new ones, I can add a blank field, but when I type in it, no letters appear.

I am now using the application on Opera until you get this fixed.
