bold text how do i move bookmarks along the bookmarks tab

I have just bought a new computer. Got firefox working and I have bookmarks on the bookmarks tab below the search box.

I used to be able to move bookmark tabs along it and it was my main organisational method.

OR I would drag a url down from the search bar to put it on the bookmark tab below

neither of these methods work any longer and it is a real problem.

I cannot think of a worst thing you could have done.

Help how do i move a bookmark along the bookmark tab, or move a url to the bookmark tab, or move those bookmarks which I can't see to the visible section below the search bar

i even deleted ALL my bookmarks............I cant get rid of the ribbon across the top, no matter how many times i try. And now I see, the bookmarks live on even after I deleted all of them yesterday.

When I logged in this morning my bookmarks toolbar was gone, along with the favorite start. I have googled and followed support articles and the only thing I was able to do is get the menu bar to show along with the the bookmark menu but customizing the toolbar.

Laptop running Windows 10 pro. Firefox 144. Is there a method for sorting firefox bookmarks into alphabetical order (yet)? I see from questions asked years ago that Firefox hasn't had a way to sort all bookmarks into alphabetical order in one go. Is this still the case? It seems hard to believe that the only way to do this is to sort each folder individually. I noticed that I can do this (and have done) on Android, but not on the laptop.

I have a bookmark folder with 12 entries. In the bookmark manager, I see all 12 entries. when I select the bookmark folder from the toolbar, the drop down menu only lists four entries,

It has happened now for quite a long while and quite some times that the bookmarks, with the exception of the "Import Bookmarks", disappear from Bookmarks Toolbar.

There was a time when I succeeded in solving the problem by removing the <places.sqlite> file, but or the last 2 instances it did not work.

In the first of these two later instances I resorted finally to reinstalling Firefox after the deletion of <places.sqlite>, <places.sqlite-wal> and <places.sqlite_shm> - I am not sure about the spelling of this last two - without success.

Today, running 144.0 64-bit for artlinux 1.0, that did not work.

I did <pacman -R firefox>, in order to remove it and then <pacman -Su firefox>, to install it but that did not work and to my surprise, my bookmarks appeared on the Library so I removed and installed one more time, making sure to delete the <.mozilla> before installing again.

I just reporting in case it may be helpful to someone.

I asked this same question yesterday and a little while later, the horizontal bookmarks toolbar "magically" appeared. Now the toolbar is gone again. How can I find it and get it to stay at the top of my page? (I'm an 80-year-old granny/computer-dummy.) Thanks in advance for any help.

I've tried the "verify integrity" fix and got the results shown in the screenshot below. I've restarted my mac, I've shutdown and started my mac with a hard boot and the icons still show up like globes.

I've switch to a new computer and exported and imported my book marks, in json file. I can see them in the library, but I don't know how to get them to display on my sidebar. Help? thanks brian

My bookmarks have suddenly disappeared. I've tried going to manage bookmarks/restore, but it only gives the option to choose a file. Is there any other way to get my bookmarks back?

Hello, editing Bookmarks is a manual process within Firefox Bookmarks. I would like to export sub folders and edit them on my preferred desktop text editors, then re-import said edited Firefox Bookmarks folder.

I have tried Firefox sub folder:

• dragging and dropping to Desktop, however fails
• copying/pasting to Desktop, however fails
• AI promises the world like a conservative politician's gish gallop, but nothing works and wrecks the current setup.

I have exported the entire Bookmaks.html file, however editing html to text, then somehow only text remained without urls. So now I have restored from an old 3rd party's bookmarks and need to clean what Bookmarks are left. Sub folder management would be easier than entire Bookkmarks.html.

In your previous version of Firefox, I could click on "Bookmarks" above the search bar to see all of my bookmarks listed. Is that capability still available? I don't want my bookmarks showing in a toolbar. Thank you.

Been trying to retrieved misplaced bookmark folders not bookmarks themselves in the Bookmarks Library with no success even going down several sub-levels; Would be nice if there were a search function, but will take a step-by-step solution. Thanks!

I have version 143.0.3 (aarch64), running on a 2020 M1 mac. I did an update recently but I still have all of my bookmarks, that's not the problem. The problem is, although the space for the bookmarks toolbar appears when I click "always show" (and disapears when I select "never show"), I see nothing. Nothing shows up in this space and so I have to go menu diving to get to my bookmarks. Do you have an idea how to fix this?
