I am trying to transfer my bookmarks, open tabs and passwords etc. from my old laptop to my new one. It appears I have to do this with Firefox Sync under the preferences menu. However when I try to connect a new device, I am told to open the code scanner on my Firefox App, which sounds like I have to use a mobile? How do I scan the QR code using my new laptop?

For some reason my passwords went missing locally and when I went to sync them my account would not connect and the saved password was missing. So I went through the password reset process to sign into my sync account and when I resigned into it to sync, there was no passwords on the account.

Is there any backup performed by mozilla or any other way to get like a backup of the online account passwords somehow. My local logins.json files are corrupt so I cant use them.

This is extremely disappointing if they cant be retrieved.

So I forgot the password for my account, if I reset it, and therefore reset all of my bookmarks history etc, can I recover them by syncing again with my phone or is the account reset across devices?

Hi everyone I lost my phone a couple of months ago so I haven't access to my authenticator app, now I wanna sync my new phone's Firefox and it need to access to the two-step code that I haven't access to it. what must I do? I appreciate your help.

I have FINALLY given up on your sync feature as it keeps adding deleted bookmarks and folders. It is so bad that all the duplication of bookmarks and folders are so random that can mount to thousands and thousands or copies.

I have UN-SYNC all my devices as this cannot go on as I have followed your instructions to the T.

Hi, I'm having some issue with the syncing of bookmarks. Some changes in bookmarks in one device (desktop) don't synchronize properly to others devices (desktop also). I have lost many bookmarks, names changed that don't change, disappearing of complete folders, etc. This are the last three error-sync-number.txt files I have on about:sync-log of an affected device, hope someone notices something relevant that could help me solve this horrible problem. Hi there, I have saved my google account's password in my Firefox account and its something very strong. Now I try to sync Firefox but it asks me to enter 6 digits code sent to my email but I can't access my email unless I access my passwords in my Mozilla account!

Why I can't I see this? or where can I find it?

Various Fire Fox sources say I need to set up an Firefox Syn account and that I can make a selection to do this in Firefox preferences. However this is no option for this available. There is a single option labeled sync but it doe does not synchronize my laptop to my account and none of my bookmarks etc are up to date.

I decided to make a fresh windows install, and when i installed firefox as allways i logged in.

Normally when i have logged in on a fresh installation of firefox it startes with the sync and getting all my old booksmarks, add-ons, passwords etc. but this time i didn't.

I thought that was weird but didn't pay mind to it, i thought i might have needed some time to sync. After 4 hours nothing has happended yet.

• Pressing sync now under settings

Hi, I lost firefox browser because of I setup new windows so i install again but unfortunately i cant get back my previous bookmarks settings and more. I am not sure what has happened but I had tons of passwords saved in my Mozilla browser. I have been using this since 2019 or 2020 and saved all of my passwords there. What happened is I was using my laptop and wasn't aware that the charger is not plugged in. While working my device turned off because of no battery. I connected the charger and restarted my device like normal. After I opened my browser(Mozilla Firefox) and ctrl+shift+t to open all the recently closed tabs, I was amazed to see that it restored many old sites like 1.5 month old websites instead of the one's which I was using. However, the recently closed one's were showing in the history. I opened the tabs from history that I needed and started using it normal. I have using Mozilla Firefox for good 2 years I never felt the need to remember any of my passwords. Everytime I have to create an account on any of the sites I just create a password once, at the time of sign up only and then click on SAVE PASSWORD so I don't have to remember it. I am guessing this is the normal practice that everyone does or may be a cast majority. I was doing my routine work, I tried to login to my account using the same way like you put in your email in the email section and then click on password section and select the user/email you want to use a password for and sign in. BUT TODAY WHEN I FOLLOWED THE SAME PROCEDURE, IT DOESN'T SHOW ME ANY SAVED PASSWORD WHICH WAS QUITE SURPRISING TO ME. I OPENED THE PASSWORD MENU FROM THE TOP RIGHT AND I WAS SHOCKED TO SEE THAT THERE WE ZERO, LITERALLY ZERO SAVED PASSWORDS. I REALLY NEED HELP WITH THIS BECAUSE THOSE WERE SO MANY PASSWORDS LIKE SERIOUSLY SO MANY.

I had to reset my computer.

I had Firefox sync on it and in the past all I’ve had to do is login and it restores history bookmarks and setting when I install it on a new or reset device

It’s not doing it this time, any advice?
