I'm having this insanely irritating bug where when I have my DAW software, specifically FL Studio, open at the same time as Firefox, and I try to pull up any sort of video or content, whether that be Youtube, Twitch, Dropbox or Google Drive files, or even videos just being queued up by Twitter or Reddit in the background, there'll be a chance that Firefox sort of "crashes," and goes all white (or grey with the default theme) for up to dozens of seconds, and forces the video to reload, or it just breaks the player.

I need to be able to use my browser and my DAW at the same time to preview and drag files into it, and to work with video, so closing one or the other isn't an option. I've tried everything short of a drive wipe and OS reinstall; I've tried making a new profile, disabling extensions, disabling hardware acceleration, the troubleshoot mode, and even a complete wipe and reinstall of both Firefox and FL Studio. Nothing has worked.

Has anyone else had that issue and hopefully been able to fix it? Or does anyone know any way to alleviate this? Thank you!

I'm using Windows 11 Pro on a Framework 13 with an AMD 7840U with all the latest updates and drivers, and can provide specifics if needed.

Greetings,

I had stumbled on a list of your fixed bugs lists and noticed updates were made on my keyboard.

On 03/09/2024, my left shift key, z, X and C keys are not working.

I have to copy and paste those letters from other documents to type it here. Do you have any idea how those keys stopped working?

Thank you in advance for your input.

MacBook Air, OSX 12.6.1 Firefox 123.0.1 iPhone 12 IOS 17.3.1

Using a wifi hotspot from my iPhone, Firefox on the Mac gives me "Hmm. We’re having trouble finding that site." for all sites. As if there is no internet connection Chrome works fine, other internet based apps like Skype, Whatsapp work fine (but Mac Mail won't connect either)

Before IOS 17, everything worked fine.

Is there a setting in Firefox that is responding to something new in IOS 17's hotspotting feature?

Thanks

For example this page, https://yle.fi/a/3-11868513 , causes my Firefox to go unresponsive for maybe 10-20 seconds at a time, when scrolling up and down. Windows works fine. It's not the only one, I have found some other on that same news site, which use the same kind of construct for a page that contains both video and text.

When I open Firefox in troubleshooting mode, page works fine. But in normal mode, even if I disable all my extensions (except search engines), page still hangs.

On the other hand, I haven't encountered this kind of behaviour in normal mode in any other pages or sites. So it may be something very spesific that site uses on those particular pages. So it is a minor problem but because disabling all extensions did not help, I thought it might be worth bringing up.

I have created a test page here https://dev.danlobo.co.uk/pure-css-coverflow-slider/index.html

This seems to render fine in all browsers except firefox. I have even tried nightly build.

Notice the thin line artefacts when rendering (screen shots attached).

Mac Sonama 14.3.1 Firefox 123.0.1 64bit

I have tried setting fx.webrender.compositor to false as suggested here but this seems to make no difference:

e.g. https://www.reddit.com/r/firefox/comments/sf7l56/using_firefox_on_a_4k_display_causes/

Please can you advise why this happening in firefox only browser?

Hi team,

Since March 18th, 2024, users have encountered latency issues when attempting to log in to ee.co.uk/shop, adversely affecting our company, Torry Harris Integration Solutions, and leading to significant revenue losses. While the issue persists, it's notable that users are experiencing smooth login operations on browsers like Chrome and Edge, suggesting a potential browser-specific compatibility or optimization problem. Immediate investigation into this disparity, along with addressing server overload, network congestion, or database performance issues, is critical to restoring seamless functionality across all browsers and mitigating revenue impact effectively.

Thanks Regards, Gaurav Kumar Torry Harris Integration Solutions.

Recently, when first logging into Facebook, the entries in my feed will just sit there and refresh for a while before finally settling in and stopping. Then when I start scrolling, I can only go so far and it starts doing it again. Rather peculiar action. Something to do with auto refresh? I don't encounter the issue when using Safari or Opera. Appreciate anything on this issue.

Solution on Mozilla was to refresh uninstall/ etc. and not remove data; that choice about no removing data didn't come up. now all my bookmarks are gone, and when i tried to restore backup, the latest was oct 2022 and didn't have but a few bookmarks. Can these be pulled from anywhere else?

I currently am using Nightly and running Windows 10 on a dual monitor setup. I switched to it after it was suggested to me by this forum to resolve an issue that all my browser windows were opening in one monitor on reboot and restore. Nightly did indeed resolve that.

Because of the type of research I do, I may at any time have a hundred or more browser windows open with multiple tabs in each. When I was running regular Firefox, I would have to reboot every third day or so when my computer would start to bog down. The browsers would get slow to respond or stop responding.

Since switching to Nightly, I have found that I sometimes have to reboot multiple times a day with even less browser windows active.

I know Nightly is beta and has many updates required often. Should I move back to Firefox? Has Firefox resolved the issue with all windows being opened in a single monitor? Are their any settings, third party add ons, etc that can prevent my computer from bogging down (something that keeps the browser from using resources even when a particular window isn't in focus).

Since yesterday, occassionally while using Facebook or Messenger, the tab crashes. Earlier today on the Messenger side, after reopening the Messenger tab after it crashes, it crashed again. It doesn't occur on other websites and the app doesn't crash, only the tab.

Using Firefox on "troubleshoot mode" doesn't have an issue when accessing when I visit those for a few minutes and with only one or two tabs open, and I'm afraid of visiting these sites for a while because it may crash again. Occurs on both Windows and Mac.

Crashed signature leads to: "js::gc::AllocSite::incTenuredCount", and I have no idea what does it mean. For my Mac the reason for the crash is "EXC_BAD_ACCESS / KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE", while for Windows, reason is "EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION_READ".

Heres from my Mac: bp-b882a473-a8a5-496f-8a14-d9d190240403

I will add additional crash IDs from my Windows. Idk what is the problem currently, is it with the add-ons installed, Facebook, or Firefox itself? The RAM is fine.

Hello, sorry for distrubing,

I have a problem with css transition since last update. Since last update, css transition on scroll is lagging. Any other browser is doing it fine, firefox was doing it fine too before last update. As the title says, I experience stutter frequently when using the scroll wheel click to scroll. It's not exactly consistent in timing, but I'd say every second or less. It may be happening when scrolling normally as well, but if it is I can't tell.

Trying to google for a potential fix, I found a reddit thread suggesting to look at the WEBRENDER entries in about:support, though that's where it ended because the individual that posted the thread had no issues there. As the attached image shows, there are multiple NVIDIA_REFRESH_RATE_MIXED error codes, in WEBRENDER_COMPOSITOR and WEBRENDER_DCOMP_PRESENT. This makes some sense, as my main monitor is 144hz, and my tv, also connected to my GPU, is 120hz. I have a 3070 Ti FE, which I also used in my previous computer, which I remember having no stuttering in firefox with.

I also found that if I force the GPU to run at a higher speed (not overclocked, just at the advertised speed rather than the reduced speed it normally offers when doing non-intensive tasks like browsing the web), the stutter goes away.

I tried various about:config settings, like mousewheel.system_scroll_override.enabled from true to false, layout.frame_rate from -1 to 144 (this didn't seem to fix it, and made scrolling choppier in general, almost as though I'd turned off smooth scrolling though not as severe), though nothing seemed to help.

I'd greatly appreciate any help anyone can offer.
