The last Firefox updates have suddenly created havoc. None, absolutely none of the websites that I frequently visit will have my login information saved even though when I view logins in the settings mode, they are all listed there with the correct passwords. I am not technical and would sincerely appreciate a tutorial of some kind as to how to correct this egregious oversite on behalf of the Mozilla team.

I am trying to do some local web development, if I open an index file directly in Firefox it complains that the CORS request is not being made over HTTP. I know I can try and set up a local web server for development but that's beside the point.

According to this previous Mozilla post linked below I can set privacy.file_unique_origin to false, and it's suppose to override the security setting. This does not work for me, setting it to false and closing all browsers and testing the HTML file again, I still see the CORS error. Is this setting now useless in the newest version of Firefox? Is there a different config setting I need to adjust?

I recently updated Firefox to version 89.0 which made my tabs curved rather than square/blocky. Is there any method to revert the look of my tabs? This is strictly for aesthetic purposes.

Hello, until yesterday, I had the video downloader helper icon on the right hand side of my top list of sites near my Firefox account icon. Now in the 89.02 version, it's gone so I can't download directly movie trailers for example. How do I put that icon back on around there? Thanks Luc

I use a monitor that is at some distance from me, to avoid eyestrain because I have vision problems. This is fine for web pages, documents, etc. because I can vary the text size as needed. Since the new update, I can't read the text on my bookmarks, menu, toolbars, tabs, etc. I don't know if they've made the text smaller or if it's a result of the amount of space added around everything, but I could swear the text is much smaller. Either way, this is unusable for me. Is there a way I can increase the text size? If not, I'm going to have to find a way to reinstall the old version or switch to another browser.

Sorry if the answer to this question is obvious with a bit of searching, but you know... I can't see anything. It's very frustrating.

However, I've seen some bad things in Firefox 89, so I'll report it. After upgrading Firefox to 89, access from behind the proxy no longer reaches all addresses beyond the firewall. I noticed that the page opens correctly when I play around with the settings, which is related to the HTTPS-Only Mode and Automatic proxy configuration URL settings. I specify the address of "http:" in the Automatic proxy configuration URL. In that case, if HTTP-Only Mode is ON, it seems that the proxy configuration file cannot be read correctly. When I turned off HTTP-Only Mode and reloaded again, the page was displayed correctly. Alternatively, I can give up the specification in the Automatic proxy configuration URL and switch to the manual specification. That said, before 89, all settings were displayed correctly, so I think it was a trigger for the change in 89. Is there anything you can think of? Is such a phenomenon happening in other people?

When I go to do a search, as soon as I type in a letter, it jumps up to the address bar exposing past searches and all, and makes me do my search in the address bar, with my history exposed to everyone in the room which invades my privacy. How can I correct this to the way it used to be that when I searched it stayed in the search box unless I needed to used the url when I wanted to. Very surprised this started happening with the new upgrade. Can I go back to the last upgrade?

DuckDuckGo is my default search engine. When I open a new tab a DuckDuckGo search box comes up as part of the new tab layout.

After I upgraded to 89.0 I find that if I enter text into the DuckDuckGo search box the text automatically switches into the address bar and looks through the URL history instead of being entered into the DuckDuckGo search box. I can't use the DuckDuckGo search box at all, I can only choose a search option that (sometimes) comes up in the address bar instead.

Is this supposed to work like this? It's very inefficient.

With the latest update a lot of ease-of-use has gone away. Include is the fact that tabs that are playing sound only show an icon when I hover the mouse over them. I can not seem to about:config to get the sound icon to remain, despite changing the setting. This means if multiple tabs are playing I have to search all the tabs individually. It also means I cannot quickly switch to the desired tabs muting and unmuting as I prefer.

While this is a specific problem which I hope you can solve readily, it is a part of a pattern I have seen over some of the more recent updates, where useful features are removed in favor of aesthetics. It was this very mistake that lead me to leave internet explorer for firefox. Leave us the ability to turn on and off what we like, instead of forcing us to accept whatever you think is the trend.

I REALLY dislike the new bookmark pull-down feature, which has larger fonts and far too much space between bookmarks. Now I have to scroll (for which I can't use the mouse) to get to the bottom of a long bookmark list. I prefer older versions.

How may I change the appearance of this feature?

After updating to 89.0 on Windows 10, I don't see a speaker icon on the tab that's currently playing audio unless I hover over the tab. In to previous releases, any tab that was playing audio had a speaker icon that showed you which tab(s) are playing.

After updating to 89.0 the appearance of FF is horrendous. that light coloring, change of tabs, and etc. I want to revert to the color schemes I have before. How do I do that? It is so ugly, I will seriously go back to Google Chrome if I cannot; and that is a huge statement coming from me.

Somehow I got hooked/tricked into changing the color scheme of my Firefox browser. I chose to add on Firefox Color and design my own, but now the drop down boxes (for Bookmarks, Tools, extended Toolbar) all have this ugly dark grey background with white-colored text, which I find REALLY unpleasant!!! I do not see how to switch the box color -- can you help?

Hello Firefox people, I noticed that before the last upgrade to the browser, my Firefox Color was working fine. Then it stopped altogether. Now it will load up, but there are no colors in the area where there was before the upgrade. I am on Windows 7. Is there a better version to use with the extension? An older one maybe that isn't too terribly old, or is that not a good idea? I made some themes I want to send out--about 15 of them! Is there an other way to give away my art forFirefox Color--posting it somewhere, or another" loading zone"? Thank you for your time and help. I'd guess there's already a discussion regarding this, but I don't know where. Getting rid of the borders when there are multiple tabs open and turning things gray makes for a far worse browsing experience for me. Why would one string of undifferentiated text in a long line of tabs make things any easier? It does not.

Is there an add-on that keeps the "classic" theme? I've googled how to provide feedback. One of those links is dead. What's the best way to make my thoughts known?

People love tech, but the older I get the more I see how it demonstrates a lack of ownership, that nothing is really yours on your devices, that what you're comfortable with is only one weekly update away.

Mozilla Installer Down Load Has a Virus!!!!!!! Luckily my AVG Caught it! Down Loaded Update and had to "Revert to an earlier time" to remove updates. Was instructed after GO BACK to Install complete new version, but Installer has virus (on Open) Use This for my Bank Account From Chase, but Chase WON'T let me use older version of your Browser. I've been using Windows Quicken and Firefox for many years and have one ongoing annoyance... When I download a .qfx file of transactions from some financial institution, a window pops up asking what should Firefox do with this file.. (Firefox is my default browser)... There is a choice to open the file with Windows Quicken and I select that and things work fine. However, there is also an optional check box that supposedly gives you the choice to "Do this automatically for files like this from now on". I check that box but it never seems to work... I am always asked the question about what should Firefox use to open a qfx file. What can I do to get FIrefox to use Windows Quicken to automatically open the file?

I work with text a lot in the browser. In Chrome, I can select a piece of text, then press Ctrl+Shift+Up/Down arrow to select paragraphs above or below the selected text. Also in Chrome, I can press Ctrl+up/down arrow to move the text cursor one paragraph above or one paragraph below when I type. But in FireFox, the combination ctrl+up/down arrow duplicates home and end. Tell me how can I assign actions to these keyboard shortcuts to work with paragraphs?

A few months ago, probably after FF update, the "open with" stopped working, only download is possible.

Particularly, simple url links fail to "open with" including reading with firefox itself. I can not open PDFs, outer program links. Only a few PDF links are opened at specially crafted websites. Probably those are sites with on-site defined MIME or allowing the PDF contents being pre-cashed.

In all the other cases where the file being opened should be pre-downloaded with FF downloader, it fails to download. The same file is downloaded easily when choosing "save as"

I guess, the problem may be in the "downloader" part only, since other online contents are displayed, i.e. streamed, or stored in cache without problems.
