Hello,

I use an online text-based website frequently at work, Firefox is my chosen browser for many reasons. One problem I am facing is that when I go to make text bold using the shortcut Ctrl+B, the bookmark bar appears on the side of my screen.

How can I disable this, as it does get in my way frequently, having to close the bar before I continue.

I've been using the "Show shortcut when selecting text" feature in Firefox, where clicking the AI ​​icon after selecting text gives me quick options like "Quiz me," "Explain this," etc.

But I've run into a issue: after a certain FireFox update, when I select text and pick one of those options, Firefox does open the Copilot AI sidebar (which I've set as my default), but it doesn't actually do anything after that—it just shows the Copilot new task screen without sending the selected text or performing the action.

（I don't know why Firefox recognized my system as Windows 10, but in fact my system is Windows 11.） Firefox version: 144.0 (64-bit)

It seems the only option to sync info between the Mac and iPhone is everything.

My Mac has Thousands!!! of bookmarks. And a long History.

I want less than a fraction of that info on my iPhone.

How can I be super-selective in what is synced?

The solution given there was to change extensions.screenshots.disabled in about:config.

Unfortunately, my Mozilla Firefox (ver. 144.0 (64-bit)) doesn't have extensions.screenshots.disabled. So what now?

Several times today I have had messages not sent because of this error message: "Did Not Connect: Potential Security Issue". I am sending political messages and am concerned that Mozilla is blocking me. I have sent hundreds of similar messages over the years with no problem.

I usually want spellchecks "English (United kingdom, large)" and "German (Germany)" active. Every few days to weeks it changes to a (single) random other language instead, like "German (Luxembourg)". Posts I've found elsewhere suggest changing display language (which should be unrelated and is already set to UK English), uninstalling all other dictionaries system-wide (which should not be necessary and is not acceptable), reinstalling Firefox entirely (but that's for cases where the correct dictionary was never selectable, I can select it, it just doesn't stay for long) or issues with syncing with other devices (but I don't change that setting on other devices, either). How do I stop spellcheck from changing and why does this even happen?

i have a firefox account on my old windows 10 computer. Firefox is having trouble "finding that site" for some sites I've used for years. I've checked internet settings in Firefox, reset my WIFI router, etc. with no response for connectivity. But I really guess I don't know what or where to check... how to save my passwords? Like gmail, and facebook, and other sites? When i use Safari the passwords are automaticaly saved. In Safari I don't need an special configuration,but in firefox all of my passwords are Lost. How i do in a correct way?

How do I disable the cruft which appears in the URLbar? Specifically, the trackers detected symbol, the certificate verified symbol, the bookmark this page symbol, and the question mark symbols which appear on both the URLbar and the searchbar.

Apparently downloads of the Firefox browser are tagged with something called dltoken so Mozilla can count unique installations. How do I verify the authenticity of the download since they don't match the untokened hash checksum?

I know downloads off the ftp site won't have the token, but I installed first and then remembered to check later.

Every SINGLE time Firefox update now, we have to create a new profile, EVERY SINGLE TIME. We loose all our open tabs, passwords, history, bookmarks, everything.

Hi, I like to use the Inspector window to modify layouts for printing &/or save as pdf only portions of a page or a whole page that's not laid out in a printer friendly way. Lately in the "Rules" pane of the Inspector window, I've noticed something I've never seen before. Normally it shows a list of rules for properties, attributes, etc...(CSS) which I can select or locate and change/modify with virtually no problems. Lately in that pane I've been seeing an item with an italicized title "element attributes style" and a lock icon on the upper left next to that text and it doesn't show show a link to the CSS page on the right side, nor does it allow me to select anything within. Does anybody know about this ?...is it some new setting or something that's changed in the newer versions of the browser. A couple of months ago I updated FF, which I hadn't done for awhile, and also just by chance, since that update I hadn't really used the Inspector for one reason or another, so I'm wondering if it's just a coincidence, since I had never seen it before. I'd appreciate any info or opinions about this. Thanks and wish everyone all the best.

some of my icons on the location bar do not appear, or only appear when I have the window maximized. How can I reorder thewse icons so the ones I want to see most often are on the left? this refers specifically to the add-on icons, but I would think all the icons are controlled the same way (that is, if one can control them).

My search history is clogged with repetitions of the same search. For example I log onto my bank account and the search history shows 15 plus or minus entries. It also happens with other sites i visit often. I searched the internet about "history" and It was suggested that is check extensions and remove them. Then Just today my bank sign-in icon was gone. Sorry Im not always using the correct terminolgy.

I was unexpectedly signed out of my account. I used my encryption key to sign back in which i have done before. I have never experienced this problem before. This time when i logged back in all of my saved passwords were gone. Is there any hope of fixing this issue?

While watching YouTube videos in Chrome or Edge, I occasionally see a brief (0.1 second) black-and-white glitch near the top of the screen — but only when the video quality changes (e.g., auto-switching or manual resolution change). It never happens during regular browsing or local video playback. I’m testing Firefox now and wondering: - Does Firefox handle video stream transitions differently than Chromium-based browsers? - Is hardware acceleration in Firefox less prone to triggering such micro-glitches? - Any recommended settings or flags to optimize video playback stability in Firefox? - I was hoping to see an option to turn of AV1 video codec (if possible) I’m not gaming or doing heavy rendering — just casual productivity and media use. And I have switched on the default performance settings from my firefox browser setting. Would love to know if Firefox is better suited for this kind of smooth, glitch-free experience.
