Hi Team,

I have been using firefox for 2 years now at work, logged in to sync the passwords and bookmarks. To my knowledge it seemed to be working fine.

I reimaged my laptop last week and reinstalled firefox and logged into my account and it did not download any of my saved bookmarks and saved passwords.

I suspect it may have been caused by a partially failed initial install of Firefox which may have wiped the data from the account.

Does mozilla keep backups of the profile data? If they do, could my account be restored to the state it was in on Thursday 28 March 2024?

Can you recommend some kind of extension thet will only check current icons for the bookmarks? Just that. I don't need duplicate bookmarks checker, inactice checker and God knows what else checker. Just icons, that's good enough for me.

Recently I noticed that whenever I try to save a bookmark (and I save a lot of bookmarks) there are duplicates of my folders. I don't know why, but somehow at some point all my bookmarks got copied into other folders - Bookmarks Menu, Bookmarks Toolbar, and maybe something else. What's frustrating is that one of the folders is the one I use for convenience to access sites I regularly use, while saving to the other puts it somewhere I can't easily get to (I think it's the copies from Bookmarks Menu), so I have to make sure I'm putting it in the right folder - which is hard to do when they have the exact same name. Something I've found that works is to just find out which folder is the one that is in my toolbar and save it to those which pushes the ones in the Bookmarks Menu out of the quick access list, but that's not always convenient given how many bookmarks are in some folders. Using the bookmarks dupes extension, you can see just how many duplicates there are. I've also attached what I see when I save a bookmark, so you can see the duplicate folders.

I lost my user id for this account from last week, I am trying find the user account, but i couldn't find. I can't import Safari bookmarks into Firefox. I follow instructions and select Safari. When I click "open," it does nothing. I'm stuck. Please help because I would like Firefox to be my default browser.

I am using Windows 10 and have spent considerable time trying to recover my lost bookmarks after restoring computer to earlier time. I have followed 'help' guidelines but nothing works.

Firefox claims that bookmarks are saved to a backup profile but there is nothing in the folder.

These are very important research bookmarks collected over years!

I have my book marks in a side menu. Recently that side menu disappeared and when I click on the menu to install it again my bookmarks are not there and have been replaced with a bunch of stuff I don't use. Today, 6/10/22, I did what we sheep are trained to do, click on the latest update. What happened next is excruciatingly painful: EVERY SINGLE--ALL--FAVORITES AND SAVED PAGES--YEARS, YEARS WORTH OF SAVED PAGES AND FAVORITES, ERASED, GONE, WIPED OUT.

WHAT IS GOING ON? WAS THIS INTENTIONALLY PROGRAMMED? YEARS WORTH OF SAVED PAGES, GONE!!!

So I clicked on an excitingly named "restore" type link. Which resulted in only today's subsequent web activity being included.

What are you people doing?
