There are four tabs on the tab line that did not close out when I turned off the computer. Each time I come on the tabs are still there. I can close them out individually but they come on again when I sign in again. Also, I can not use the "home" button to utilize Google.

Why am I getting this message: with no way around it?

This is one of the more annoying messages Firefox has recently added:

"Your browser is being managed by your organisation."

It is obviously wrong, because it is shown on a private Ubuntu 24.04 computer where I have myself installed Firefox from a tarball installation (Firefox version 142.0.1).

The about:policies page just shows: Homepage: URL "https://start.ubuntu-mate.org/"

Why does Firefox give such obviously misleading information? All the other articles are not helpful at all either, some are talking about security software, some about malware.

This is an extremely user-unfriendly and confusing message: if security software is to blame, why does Firefox not tell what exactly is restricted? When malware changed something why does Firefox not tell what it changed? What even does the message actually imply, what is prevented what otherwise would work and why? What does the information shown on the about:policies page really tell me?

This is by the way shown when starting Firefox using an EMPTY directory for its profile (so making it use a brand new profile), running from a brand new installation directory extracted from a tar file. So what on earth makes it think it is "managed by my organization"?

There is no extension installed, no policies.json file in the newly created profile, nothing. It looks as if the firefox browser would just arrive with this weird setting/configuration comiled right into it?

Hi all, I just had the latest version of Firefox updated, but all of my bookmarks vanished. I searched some ways of trying to access it, but it has restored an older version of my bookmarks? How do I fix this? Also, I am absolutely terrible at computer things and will literally need step by step help if possible. My anxiety is ramping and I’m trying not to freak out. I want to send this pc to repair shop and have technicians update it to windows 11. I want to protect my passwords for banking etc. that are saved on this pc. How do I do it so techs do not have access?

good day. we have always used mozilla for streaming but since last week it is just buffering. We can watch youtube and netflix on it but dstv is not working anymore

Developer edition seems to be blocking Today's Deals when browsing amazon.com. Regular firefox does not do this. Suggestion on what to do to fix it.

I am running Firefox on Windows 10 64-bit, and I have lots of windows and tabs open. Occasionally I will get a message from Windows that I am running low on disk space. Recently I got the message, and I saw on my C-drive" "336,044,032 bytes free". After I did an Exit in Firefox, I saw "10,082,402,304 bytes free". The space that was freed was in the pagefile.sys file. Is this normal?
