Greetings,

I just updated to Firefox 78.15.Oesr and now am unable to reorder my open windows. As a student, I may have several projects open at a given time, and like to have the project I am currently working on, next to the open Firefox window, for quick navigation between the browser and project. This option seems to have been disabled with the update. It is enough of a deal breaker that I may pursue reverting to the previous version of Firefox.

Also, the inability to delete bookmarks, and to close the bookmark window after selecting "show all bookmarks," remains a persistent frustration that I am surprised has not been addressed. With so many browser options available, these subtle annoyances are enough to prompt me to again shop around for alternatives, after being a Firefox devotee for over 10 years.

While there are some things I like about FireFox, I use another browser for the vast majority of my browser use... I'm running Linux, and it seems that FireFox has locked itself in as the default browser... Since I am unable to modify that condition, is my only recourse to uninstall FireFox? Or, am I missing some secret handshake?

I don't have any account icon in my tool bar and no option to sync. I try to login/sign up to sync through this page https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/sync/ and the loading icon just spins and spins and spins and spins and spins for.ev.er. Please help. I just want my browser to sync on different devices.

Hello! Something in my Firefox installation seems to be making several Google network (google.com / forcesafesearch.google.com / www.youtube-nocookie.com / m.youtube.com, and a couple of others) calls shortly after launch. I have a DNS sinkhole, so that is how I can see.

I have a few reputable extensions (or should be, from EFF, Firefox itself, or Ublock Origin), but it also happens in safe mode. I went through a good chunk of this: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-stop-firefox-making-automatic-connections and still the calls occur

I am on Windows 10, with FF v93.

What's the story with Firefox being so madly in love with iTunes, the moment I open Firefox, iTunes opens. Worse even. I can't close iTunes. It keeps opening up until I close Firefox.

Is this some kind of another MANDATE now? Part of the NWO? You MUST accept iTunes to jump into your face if you use Firefox?

Makes me dump this piece of intrusive waste for good, really. I am so sick and tired of this Tech-Tyranny ruling our brains, telling us what we MUST WANT and accept.

I have used firefox for many years and really like it overall. One real problem is not being able to open new tabs to my home page (or what ever page I define to open). I have contributed to the project several times over the years but I am considering a replacement because of this issue. My hope is you might provide some solution without an addon, which always brings overhead. Please advise. Joe

We are entirely unable to logon to our Spectrum.net email accounts using Firefox and Safari on this computer: iMac OS 10.10.5. We CAN logon from a different iMac. The problem is not with Spectrum. I believe there is a setting that is not letting us in. I unchecked the box for "Show alerts . . ." about breached websites

I do not know why you had to take something that works pretty well and screw it up with a hap-hazard update. I cannot open GMAIL in standard mode, it keeps wanting to go to HTML mode. I tried to figure out what in the world the solution is in the support center. is it , "Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux) '? This doesn't work. It then says to, "Clear the cache and remove the cookies from websites that cause problems via the "3-bar" Firefox menu button (Options/Preferences). "Clear the cache": Firefox/Options/Preferences -> Advanced -> Network -> Cached Web Content: "Clear Now" "Remove the cookies" from websites that cause problems. Firefox/Options/Preferences -> Privacy -> "Use custom settings for history" -> Cookies: "Show Cookies" doesn't work. I can't find the options/preferences button. As I alluded to at the beginning of my statement. It was working pretty good till this last update. Now I am really frustrated with firefox and looking at other options.

Two questions re: the forced update from 78.15 to 91.

1: Will all bookmarks, and all other settings be retained? Is there a form of recommended backup in case of problems (I currently use MozBackup, still)

2: Will the "Bookmark Tab Here" add-on work with 91? I need a user friendly bookmarking system, which was the reason I stayed with ESR in the first place.

All my other applications and browser apps show a "toolbar", the uppermost edge of my screen, with "Firefox" and bookmarks, etc. It is just gone. I can't figure out why it is not showing up or available. I am not in full screen mode, although that hides the bar on top also. Mac OS 10.11.6, preferences says latest available update, although I cant tell because I can't set the "About" Firefox button.

I'd like to decrease the font size and change the font type in the pull down bookmarks menus. Is there a way to do that? There is no effect after tried Fonts and Colors under Preferences - Language & Appearance. Thanks.

While I'm surfing the web using Firefox browser on Mac OS, a "You are not connected to the internet" screen keeps flashing between web pages loading. Why is this happening?

NOTE: This issue is NOT with the computer I am using at the moment. That computer runs OSX Sierra.. So disregard my "Shared Data" info.

For reasons I will rant about below, I had to trash my copy of FF v69.0.1 Mac and restore it from the .dmg file. FF will not allow me to activate the correct profile, only the new empty profile.

Maybe because the accidental installation of (several copies of) newer versions changed some of the items within the "old" profile (they have today's date) ???

Do I need to scrub every hidden bit of FF, beyond Trashing visible files (except for the Profile I desire to keep) ? Then re-install v69 so it doesn't tell me I'm installing an old version? Or will the "todays date" data within the Profile screw it up anyway? Copying the Profile file list & getting it to this computer to post here would take a lot of time & effort. But its the files at the top of the Profile's file list, maybe 25% or 1/3 of the files, when ordered by date.

PROFILES: default-release-6 CREATED WHEN OPENING "NEW" INSTALLATION OF v69-0-1 default-est THIS IS THE ONE WITH ALL MY DATA NOTE there were many others, either leftover from very old FF versions or junked Users, and for every accidental newer version installed (see below for how that happens without user permission). I trashed or archived them.

WITH FIREFOX RUNNING, ABOUT:PROFILES GIVES AN ERROR & WON'T ALLOW ME TO "DEFAULT" the PROFILE ORIGINALLY USED WITH THIS VERSION: "you've launched an older version of firefox...can corrupt stuff...that was already saved to an existing profile create new profile OR quit"

This means it is impossible to re-install an "old" version of FF unless you want to lose everything in your profile !!!!!

I have tried to manually copy & paste the "old" contents into the "new" profile, but I get the same error.

Tried with FF closed, but the Terminal keeps telling me there is no such file: /Applications/Firefox.app/Contents/MacOS/firefox-bin -P

AT ONE POINT I TRIED TO MAKE IT MATCH THE FILENAME I CHANGED IT TO (I LIKE TO SEE THE REV IN A FILENAME) - DO I NEED TO PUT UNDERLINES INSTEAD OF BLANK SPACES? /Applications/Firefox 69-0-1 re-installed from dmg.app/Contents/MacOS/firefox-bin -P

SO THAT IS WHEN I TRASHED THAT RENAMED COPY OF FF, -- because OSX SIERRA WILL NOT ALLOW ME TO MOVE IT OUT OF THE APPLICATIONS FOLDER TO ARCHIVE IT (ANOTHER REASON I WANT TO STAY WITH EL CAPITAN MY MY COMPUTER).

RE location of Profile files: about:profile shows TWO paths, what gives with this? The path that you can Show In Finder yields an empty folder. Are they invisible? But the other path, which I think is the one I have used in the path, does have Profile folders within it:

CORRECT PATH TO FIREFOX PROFILE FILES: /Users/admin/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles BUT DELETING FROM HERE DOES NOT REMOVE THEM FROM THE ABOUT:PROFILES LIST, EVEN WHEN I CLOSE FF & RE-OPEN IT - wtf ???

The about:profiles link to show it in Finder goes elsewhere & is empty: USERS/ADMIN/LIBRARY/CACHES/FIREFOX/PROFILES ARE THEY SET TO BE INVISIBLE? THIS USER DOES NOT HAVE THE 3rd PARTY APP TO MAKE THEM VISIBLE.

THE FUNDAMENTAL PROBLEM THAT GOT ME HERE: I foolishly decided to give the next rev up a try, v 72-something. But when I opened it, the default of "automatically install updates" did so to v93, without my knowledge. This happened a few times in a row, when I kept wondering why I did not have v72 running & kept re-installing from the v72 dmg file. I was unable to make my v69 profile the default for either v72 or v93, don't know why not.

THE AUTO INSTALL SHOULD ONLY GO TO THE NEXT REV, NOT THE MOST RECENT, WITHOUT USER PERMISSION.

So I trashed most everything and installed v69 again from the dmg file. When I opened it, I quickly went to Prefs/Gen and un-toggled the Auto Update. It asked me if I wanted to cancel & I did. This is only possible because I have a slow DSL line. Anyone with a T1 line would be screwed.

So I have a "fresh" copy of v69 but I can't put the CORRECT Profile into it !!!
