Hello, long time Firefox user here!

Open site https://www.desmos.com/calculator, a well-known site for math graphing In a completely empty graph (no sources of CPU usage), select settings (top right wrench button) and select the polar grid option (circular grid). Simply click and wiggle the coordinate space a bit and CPU will quickly reach 100% usage.

Tech stats: Firefox x64 (newest version), high CPU usage occurred with and without active extensions, my CPU is a i7 8-core 4GHz

This does *not* happen if a different browser is used (e.g. I tested with Chromium), or Desmos is used with the regular cartesian grid option. Ram usage and GPU usage are negligible either way.

Related: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1446863 they claim "low fps" but I'm guessing that's a symptom of high CPU usage.

When I visit an http site and specify a non-standard port, it automatically changes to https, which is not a site redirect but something Firefox changes. This site already has an https service, and the http service will redirect to https. I reproduced the same situation in chrome. Accessing the http service with a non-standard interface was normal. After accessing the https service once, the service with the non-standard port was also changed to https. Clearing the data will restore it. Is this cached? My HTTPS-Only Mode is turned off, and set an exception for this site. thx.

When I visit the webpages of the Swiss Federal Post Service

    https://www.post.ch/de/kundencenter/onlinedienste

then the scroll bar will not be displayed even though the page is longer than what can be displayed on my screen. As soon as I return to another URL the scroll bar is visible again when needed.

Does anybody know what I can have a scroll bar also for this webpage?

When I sign in to a website I check the box saying 'remember this computer' but FF doesn't seem to allow this. I have to go thru the security login every single time, like when signing in to a google account. It works on Chrome but not FF.

This may be related: sometimes the page displayed on FF doesn't function as it should. Example: I was using Quickbooks online and when I clicked the HELP button nothing happened. I thought it was an Intuit problem until I used Chrome and found the HELP button worked.

For the last few days the ebay website is very slow when I open it. If I switch to Chrome, ebay's website loads okay. All other websites seem to load through Firefox with no problem. Any ideas???

I seem to having an issue with adding search shortcuts on FF, I am following this guide:

But I'm stuck at step #4 as the table seems to be disabled.

This is a personal laptop and has not policies on it.

I have a Logitech mouse. I've used it with both Brave and Chrome problem without problems highlighting text. But the highlight function doesn't work properly with the mouse in FF.

I can double click and highlight a paragraph. I can highlight a single word with no problem. But when I try to highlight a series of words or a full sentence, I can't. Either it highlights but when I try to Copy the highlight disappears. Or when I drag the mouse to highlight it won't highlight at all.

Since the issue only occurs in Firefox and not other browsers, there has to be something in Firefox that's causing this; or some conflict causing highlighting not to work.

I'd be grateful for any ideas how to fix this. It's driving me crazy.

I've been having this problem for a couple of weeks now. When I go to certain websites (that work on Every other browser I use) I get the following error:

Network Protocol Error

An error occurred during a connection to www.diamondtoolstore.com.

The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because an error in the network protocol was detected.

   Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem.

It happens with Lowes & Home Depot - two sites I use every day for work. Now I have to use Chrome or Microsoft Edge -YUCK. I went to your help page and tried everything I could find that may help with this issue and nothing has helped. I see that there are a LOT of other people having the problem as well...Can you please fix it.

i use to have firefox or mozilla on my toolbar, do not know how to question or figure out what i am looking,

is it adding tab firefox or mozilla to the toolbar, when on toolbar you would click on firefox for a new tab.

Hi everyone, new Firefox user here

Everytime I scroll on Firefox using two fingers on my laptop's touchpad, there is a random left-click that appears somewhere on my browser screen. There is a small grey square that very breifly appears where this click happens (I can't take a photo since it goes away too quickly).

This click gets really annoying, since sometimes it clicks one of my many bookmark folders and drags it to the tab section at the top of my browser, thus opening all of the websites inside the bookmark folder.

I'm certain that this is not an issue with my OS, since this only happens on Firefox (the grey square is also only on Firefox).

How can I disable this feature?

After the latest update (117.0 64-bit) I now do not see the '+' sign in the tab bar. I have 40 tabs open (please, no negativity - it's always worked for me), but if I close all of the tabs it reappears. Re-open the original 42 tabs and it's gone again. Close them and it reappears, etc. Now for the fun bit: starting from scratch with a new window - the '+' is there, but open 20 more tabs and it goes.

When I went to watch Tubi TV today I got this error message when I tried to load the video:

"Oops, your web browser is no longer supported. Please upgrade to a modern, fully supported browser."

But only for a few seconds, then it shows

"Sorry, there was a problem loading the video player. Please try to reload the page. If you are using an ad-blocker, please disable it or whitelist tubitv.com If the problem persists, please contact us at tubitv.com/support"

I booted my firefox in safe mode, still get this exact sequence of events. My firefox is up-to-date. Is there a workaround for Tubi blocking content from firefox browsers? Is that what this is? Thank you

In the Microsoft Store there are all these updates for video extensions like "AV1 Video Extension". Should I be doing these updates? Do they make any difference to streaming video on the Firefox Browser?

Tabs always start in mute mode. I can turn it on by pressing speaker logo in the tab. The problem is when I shift to a new tab, the previous tab mutes automatically. For example: I listen to YouTube music and want to check my mail. When I shift focus to the new tab the first mutes it self. Any suggestions please. Sincerely Oscar.

Hello, when initiating a request for conditional mediation with webauthn I get the following error:

TypeError: 'conditional' (value of mediation) is not a valid value for enumeration CredentialMediationRequirement.

However when asking whether it's available with `await window.PublicKeyCredential.isConditionalMediationAvailable()` it does return true. Is this a bug?

Adblock is unable to deactivate thumbnails appearing towards the end of a Youtube video! I've restarted FF but result is the same.

What is wrong? Any other alternatives?

See pix. I have my PC set to NOT auto update, yet it still does. Every time you guys post an update (which is super frequent) it locks up my PC for an hour or more! I have to restart it several times before it reconnects to the internet.

For a week or so now, spam pinned tabs keep appearing in my Firefox browser. They're always for coupon2deal.com. They appear already pinned, at random times while I'm browsing. Firefox is up to date, and I have Webroot antivirus running and have made it do a scan of my computer.

Hey all, (thanks for the continued work on firefox and happy new year) I use Firefox sync from multiple devices in my ecosystem, a micture of all three main OS (Windows, Linux and macOS / IOS). Some time ago, I must have had one device which probably generated a new device UID everytime it synced, or some kind of bug in the Firefox IOS client. This results in having a large magnitude of devices in my firefox sync account. I can only delete them one-by-one with a confirmation dialogue and a reload of the page, which is really cumbersome. I have the feature request of some easier device management policy here. Ideas would be either a "delete all" button and afterwards signing in again on all still active devices, or a series of check boxes to perform actions like a delete on multiple devices at once, perhaps even with a "select all" shortcut at the top.
