A few weeks ago I saw an Mozilla ad for a new Mozilla software product that cleaned up your PC and made it run better. The price was around $125.00 (I don't remember that exact price). It said that I would receive an email from Mozilla with download instructions. it's been a few weeks and I have not gotten any email. Does anyone know if Mozilla offers any such software or did I get scammed? I'm pretty good about seeing scams but Ive used Firefox and Mozilla for years and trust them. Maybe that's why I wasn't as careful as I should have been.

I have A LOT of problems with FF since the last couples of updates. It started around two months ago and after one of the updates (and FF has constant updates which is pretty annoying) the browser immediately starting getting really slow and buggy. The browser keeps crashing constantly, is slow, loading websites end in "network cannot be found" notices and you need to reload pages all the time to get them to load, videos play in the background by themselves on saved tabs without being activated or started.... The redesign of the menu some time back, btw, have gone to worse as it's now more difficult to find the active tab than before.

I've followed all instructions to try and resolve it and nothing works. I have no virus or downloads on the system so this is not the cause. Plugins activated or not activated makes no difference. Changing settings in FF to whatever suggested makes no difference, using about: to change settings makes no difference.

The browser has really turned almost unusable.

So I have 2 screens. I put Youtube tutorials in my rightmost screen and have unreal engine open in my leftmost screen. I use my keyboard keys to pause the videos so I can type stuff or make changes as I follow along tutorials. Each and every time I hit pause/play this popup appears in the top-left of my leftmost screen showing a picture of the video that I have open (why this redundancy....I have it full screen already on screen), it shows a huge title of the vid (again with the redundancy I don't need another title of a vid that I am watching to keep appearing), it shows a rewind/play/fast forward which is really really poorly thought out.........we have those keys on our keyboard this just is more stuff blocking our view. All of these things block out the top left stuff in my window (file/edit/asset/window/tools/help)...its so large it blocks out all tabs open in this window...its so large it even blocks out part of my viewport and other areas in that vicinity. Now all of these things it blocks out are important and I need to use them. When I pause vid I am immediately needing to use things in this space. Then you turn it off using the solution: media.hardwaremediakeys.enabled = false and your buttons also stop working. So now you cannot pause/play without mousing off screen to YouTube and manually restarting.

So my first and most important question is how to HIDE not disable the use of the buttons associated with this.

My second question that I really want to put in all caps with expletives and maybe copy and paste the question like 5000000 times so that the amount of frustration this causes on a constant basis with every workflow that I need to use vids as part of it...is WHYYYYY?!?!?!

Ait now that last bit was for flair but I'm not even really joking with that one.

I am using the web api for videogame controllers to make a web remote controller for a robot, i use django to host the server. When i access the ip of the Django server in firefox i get errors like: getGamepads is not a function or errors while trying to get gamepads from the navigator, but when i access through chrome this does not happen. These errors only happen while accessing through the django server, when i access through the local file or other pages in the web that use gamepad api there is no issue. Because of that i think that it has something to do with firefox tight security restrictions on http sites, but i can't find a way to grant permission to my page to work properly, i am willing to compromise in security since it's just going to be used locally

so, when I opened a site, Firefox recommended to me that I import the necessary login data from another browser... However in consequence it imported EVERYTHING from the Chrome browser. I deliberately like to keep data separate from browsers, aside from login data. My Chrome browser has way more bookmarks, in other words, my Firefox browser gets cluttered by this and kind of indistinguishable. I don't like that.

I still have an installation of Firefox on an other system that's just a few months old that should be fine. Can I determine the direction of the sync, whether it downloads or uploads data? This could solve my problem. Alternatively, may there be different save states to choose from (although this may the same question)?

Using Firefox version 134 (64bit). When I click "Bookmarks / Manage Bookmarks, the listing defaults to the "Other Bookmarks" folder. I would like it to default to the "Bookmarks Menu" folder. How do I make it do that? Note: In 2023, I used a fix submitted by cor-el that modified autoconfig.js and autoconfig.cfg and worked very well, however in Firefox v 134, it no longer works

Since I updated my MacBook to macOS Sequoia, I have no access to local network pages (except 127.0.0.1, localhost and 192.168.0.1) - an "Unable to connect" error appears. Immediately after the first launch of Firefox, a request for local network permissions appeared, which I accepted, but it didn't help. I performed all the actions from this article, and also used the terminal command reset All approval status for org.mozilla.firefox and Firefox disappeared from the privacy settings. While a request for access to the microphone and camera reappeared after restarting the browser, no question about the local network appeared. The problem only occurs in Firefox (version 128.5.2esr) and does not appear in other browsers (checked in: Firefox Developer Edition, Firefox Nightly, Safari and Google Chrome). macOS 15.1.1 (24B91).

I have not been working for a while this is because I have been recently been told I have Altzimers and I don't have long to live. At the moment My head is not thinking as it shouldn't be and is all over the place . My signup for the original orders was accompanied with the payment for 1 years subscription. then I was blocked by yourselves(which I managed to clear) Then you kept sending me a message that was the same as the previous one I got so fed up I paid again.But the message started again and eventually I paid again. I managed to get a contact address and contacted you by email. All I can do in the short term is to Get the details of payments and send it to you and hope we can sort it out.

The password program does not display the entire page when I signed in and using the program. The program works perfectly using other browsers(Edge / Chrome), it's only on Firefox that I have this problem. I've worked with the password people and they can't fix the problem either.

I've attached a screen shot of problem. The box with the red bar at the top should also have a red bar box at the bottom, bit all you can see is a sliver of red at the bottom.

Firefox inhibits power management, causing the screensaver to not activate. This happens when I am not running a video. It happens if I open a website that has video but I do not run the video. If I turn off Firefox the screensaver works. Screensaver is set to activate at 5 minutes. Power Management is set to turn off screen when inactive for 7 minutes. Linuxmint 21.3. and on another computer - Linuxmint 22.0

Hi, first time writing here so I don't know what to do or expect. I recently received a warning by Firefox that as of March 14, 2025 Firefox will end support for Windows 8 (8.1 and below too) and that the last version compatible with Windows 8 is Firefox 115ESR (up to which? Before in Settings Firefox wanted to update from 115.0.3 to 115.0.3ESR now it says 115.1ESR - is this still ok for Windows 8? Are all 115 versions ok or not? Please help because I'm not a computer person, at all, with far too many gaps). Also, what happens after March 14, 2025? Will I be able to keep using Firefox 115ESR version even if I won't be getting any more updates or not? Also, I have extensions (4 ad blockers+Ghostery+VideoDownload helper) which keep updating and the warning said that extensions may not work properly anymore - so I wonder if you know if these above mentioned will in fact be affected or not, because I don't know whether to update them after March 14, 2025 or not because I'm not sure how to go back to a previous version should they not work. Too, I would like to say that you suggest switching to a newer Windows ver. (10 or above) but not everyone really wants to for one reason or another. Personally I find myself fine with Win 8 so far and don't like Win 10 while Win 11 may be too much for my old computer and I cannot afford to buy another. Also I would not attempt to upgrade to Win 10 without help (considering that others more expert had difficulties making it work or reverting back to Win 8) help that I do not have, at all - that's why I'm here now, and I don't really understand how this works either, so... Anyhow, reading on that warning page that after March 14, 2025 you would reconsider your position regarding support for Win 8.1, 8 and below (and knowing also that Chrome and Edge have ended their support - effectively leaving users stranded or forcing them to upgrade to a Windows version unwillingly) I would like to plead with you NOT to follow their example and help us, your supporters, keep using Firefox (which you say is for the people) - like I said many of us have good reasons for keeping on using Win 8.1 or below, so won't you please, PLEASE help us keep Firefox as our browser so that we too may keep using Internet? I know technology goes forward and staying behind makes all more difficult but not all can afford the same things and since I have found that there are a few of us yet I am asking to PLEASE not abandon us as others have done (leaving us to manage the best we can) but consider our plight (I know it might be a challenge for the engineers and developers but surely you can find a solution at least to allow us to keep using Firefox). Looking for help to try and work out what is happening. Over the last few days, after powering up and browsing the internet everything works fine for a while. Main websites are Facebook, YouTube and continually clicking on bookmarked items. Normally only a few tabs are open at any one time. Then after some time, I open a new tab and get the

Gah. Your Tab Just Crashed message appear on the new tab and can not access any websites after this. The Close Tab, Restore Tab, Restore All Tabs do nothing.

I have to reboot the PC and start again.

I'm using the latest version 126.0.1 (64-bit).

• Tried running in Safe Mode, uninstalled Firefox and re-installed it, reverted back to 126.0 (64-bit) and same issue.

• I've cleared the cache and history

• Had Add Blockers, FB Purity and New Tab Override Extensions. Disabled these and still no success.

• I have AVG driver update installed and its telling me all the drivers are up to date.

• The problem seemed to start happening after an AVG update, so I have removed AVG Antivirus

The computer is an ASUS Vivobook Laptop, Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-1005G1 CPU @ 1.20GHz 1.19 GHz with 8GB ram.

Rootsmagic.com has a "Chat" button on the lower right corner of it's screens. Except I can't see it; Firefox seems to be blocking it. (At least that's what the Rootsmagic tech support people have suggested.) What do you have to say? I have some .htm files which are stored in the root / directory and I would like to know how to access them in Firefox, running on Xubuntu 22.04 LTS

Interestingly enough, I found a solution here: Firefox Quantum: HTML files from internal (/usr) do not open which did solve my issue on my Virtual Machine which is running the same Xubuntu 22.04, however since performing a clean installation on a physical machine the same solution has not worked and I just get the follow error as shown in my image.

Despite removing the snap version of Firefox and performing the installation shown in this guide: How to install Firefox deb package, my physical machine just cannot access my local .htm files.

This has never been an issue for me on RHEL environments, and the file path syntax I am using is: file:///my_dir/my_dir2/index.htm

The directory permissions are: drwxr-xr-x root root

Basically what the title says. My bookmarks aren't saving in the right location. No matter which folder I select in the editor, it always saves them to the default menu location.

I have a 'site' that is just files on my hard drive.

I need to click an anchor link such as: <a href="file:///dir1/dir2/dir3/dir4">Store Your Files Here</a> and have Firefox open the folder dir4 with the systems file manager. ( In my case the file manager is Nautilus ) ( Ubuntu 20.04 )

I have seen this: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Links_to_local_pages_do_not_work but it does not describe a scenario that uses the file:/// interface.

It also does not provide any information about how the files will be handled.

I can get the folder link to work currently , but it appears with the: 'Index of file///...' in a browser tab.

Obviously you can not use that for anything useful.

The main goal is to open the folder and be able to use the system file manager to include more content for the site without having to navigate to the folder manually. The folders I want to display are buried many levels down without the possibility of having descriptive names. I have ~121 pages/folders in this arrangement , and each one has content for each page. I would like to add a button on each of the 121 pages that will open each of the pages content folder.

Firefox keeps getting worse and doesn't work correctly on more and more websites. Every time Firefox fails I switch to a Chrome-based browser and the website works properly. Although not limited to handling of document downloads (banks, credit cards), printing a website's page (File, Print frequently results in a blank page, and/or missing text or images or both, whereas with a Chrome based browser the page prints properly 95% of the time) and possibly to pop-ups (which seem to be blocked without notice). This has been getting worse for many months. About 20-30% of the regular websites i visit are marked as "Chrome only" because they don't work fully with Firefox. These tend to be banks, credit card companies, online stores. I used to complain to companies that their websites don't work with Firefox, but its clear that they don't care, and I now realize that the real problem is that Firefox doesn't care. One website I spoke to (which wouldn't print in Firefox or Chrome) apologized for not setting the website up properly for printing. My guess is that many websites never test with Firefox because most of their customers use Chrome based browsers. For all its flaws, I would rather use Firefox than Chrome-based, but Firefox keeps making it harder to justify that view. When it comes to just looking at websites, Firefox is usually very good, but beyond basic viewing, Firefox is losing ground to most other browsers. I know there are no specifics here, and i think it unlikely anybody will take this seriously.

My apologies if I am being a numpty, but I have been using Firefox for many years without issue, and recently (possibly after an update, but I cannot be certain), it has started to randomly freeze. I am running Ubuntu 22.04, and Firefox 119.0. I have demonstrated to myself that if I open a web page with links (but not always), and click on the link, I may still scroll up and down the page, but the mouse cursor never seemed to recognise the hotlink, and doesn't jump to it. The links will work on Chromium. I initially tried resetting the browser, thereby losing all my open pages, but that didn't work. That also removed all extensions ("all" two of them) and that didn't work. Firefox is now pretty much unusable. Any help to resolve this would be appreciated, as I cannot find any solutions online, and it seems I am not alone with this issue! Many thanks,

When I left-click on text and hold the left mouse button, then right-click, first release the right button, then the left button, a "selection mode" is activated, where the end of the selection follows the mouse pointer despite no button is held. In principle this looks like a useful feature (or it would if the scroll wheel worked in that mode, which it doesn't). But at the same time, the context menu opens when the right button is released. So we trigger two features at once, making both less useful, because they're getting in each other's way.

This frequently happens to me when double clicking on a word and right clicking to open the context menu on it. Accidental overlap of the left and right clicks triggers the selection mode.

Can this behaviour be configured (e.g. to use a custom shortcut) or, if not, be deactivated entirely?

I'm using Firefox 123.0.1 on Linux (openSUSE Tumbleweed).

After installing version 118, Firefox does not automatically explain the pages.I have to go out in the settings and choose the language of the translation every time. The problem occurs after the browser is synchronized. MX Linux system.
