My bookmarks are not being saved anymore. When I try creating a new bookmark, it often simply doesn't work. If I try in troubleshoot mode, it sometimes does, and sometimes doesn't, I have no idea why. Creating new folders, or moving bookmarks, or deleting existing bookmarks is also blocked. In the backup files, I can see the last successful saving of my bookmarks is a month ago, though I'm using Firefox on a daily basis and I can also see that, previously, saves where every couple of days.

I found a recent json file named "bookmarks" in C:\Users\(me)\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\64cqek8b.default-release-1768329501903\weave\failed

The file content : {"ids":[]}

And nothing else.

There's also a squilte file named "bookmarks" in C:\Users\(me)\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\64cqek8b.default-release-1768329501903\weave

The file is dated of today and its size is 1,47 Mo. Which, I believe, shows the data actually exists... but fails to save into json format for some reason.

I hope all needed informations are there, but please ask me if something is missing.

OK recently firefox has been misbehaving in that some bookmarks froze or would not load. I thought it was SKY but other browsers were OK. Managed to refresh Firefox etc which changed the bookmark icons to generic icon of a globe. Then unable to delete / modify / save bookmarks. Followed Mozilla support advice help / more troubleshooting information / profile folder / open folder / check properties / sqlite / change from read only all folder s& subfolders / exit firefox. Icons reappeared but in the address bar is the full URL rather than the original saved bookmark and no blue star to indicate that bookmark. So bookmark works but the URL label instead of the short version is the full version of the URL of Bloggsandco,com TERWF78;ULUFWOUW88UY not Bloggsandco.com and no blue star. I am zero tech savvy before you ask and whilst there may have been a corrupt file in Firefox there have been two fixes with CMD SFC/scannow repairs (W10 64 bit) and now Firefox refresh. Of course lost all extensions and theme on refresh firefox. Any thoughts - have managed now to delete excess bookmarks

Stupid mistakes were made - I reinstallted windows and when I opened firefox I realized, that I did not know my password and also was not sure about the mailadress. I finally found an account with my mailadress but reset the password - it said that all data in the account will be deleted if I do that.

I got the old files recovered, but everytime I copy paste the old key4, login and cert file... nothing changes withing the browser. If I copy the whole old profile folder and exchange it with the new one and then I open firefox it just says "profile could not be found" and then firefox closes.

Is there any chance of recovering my old saved passwords or did I screw up entirely ?

My selected topic "settings" actually does not really describe my tabs problem. Even though I followed instructions for entering "about:unloads" the expected webpage did not appear. All I got was the same instructions and not a page that included the table and its unload button that was said to be above it. When I select the New Page tab and right click and then select three tabs, the right-click menu only shows the option to "close three tabs." There is not an option to unload three tabs. Yikes! And when I select one tab and click on the one option to unload one tab, the selected tab does not unload. The tab does not unload. The tab does not unload. It is still there. (???) This is very frustrating! I can only close tabs. So far I can only temporarily close them. Could the problem be that I am still using Windows 10? Please advise. I have discovered Major problem with Firefox which affects the use of my btinternet.com email account . Since the recent update I am no longer able to add the contact name to a new email which I wish to compose automatically from my contacts (I am required to type it in full. I can still do it, with the shortcut of typing in the first 3 letters, when using other browsers such as Google or Edge or the Outlook muti mail account service but generally prefer Firefox. If this situation prevails I will ditch Firefox as speed of communication and addressing is of the essence to me. Are Firefox aware and are they correcting things?

Could any settings have been altered by the update - which contribute to my problem?

For the last few days, Firefox is being removed from my computer overnight and i have to re-intall the browser the next morning. Sometimes it's still there the next day, and sometimes it's gone again the next day. What i causing this and how can i prevent it from being removed? Jenny

Firefox browser when on Foxnews will crash and causes PC to completely reboot? This has been happening on multiple PC's in my house and has been happening for months.

My browser is not working as it should. Several sites do not work anymore and the browser keeps crashing. I'd like to refresh the browser, but the button is missing. I tried going to troubleshooting mode, but the button is not there either.

Not sure if uninstalling would do the same thing? Just not sure what is the best way to refresh. Thanks for any help!

When I try to make a Google search I get the following message, "I'm not a robot" with a reCAPTCHA: "Our systems have detected unusual traffic from your computer network. This page checks to see if it's really you sending the requests, and not a robot. Why did this happen?". This happens on Firefox, but not Chrome or Edge. If I 'Allow' Google in the 'Exceptions - Cookies and Site Data' then I do not get the message, but it takes several seconds for Google display the resulting page. However, if I delete the cookies/cache the message will return and I have to redo the reCAPTCHA. I have scanned with Malwarebytes, Bitdefender, Hitman Pro, Trend Micro House Call and Microsoft Defender, nothing detected. Running Win 10 (64) with 'Extended Security Updates', Firefox 147.0 (64), no additional Extensions or Plugins. Also I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox.

Early this morning as I went to use the Firefox browser, on My Desktop, I got an update, & then firefox opened, somewhat.

The homepage did not fill in with favorites, suggestions, etc, and in fact all that did load was the Search bar, but not one of my usual website buttons. The "edit", "help", etc. buttons at the upper left hand corner did load, but that is all. Not one of the buttons work, nor can I close out the Firefox page, by tapping the "X" in the upper right hand corner.

The only way that I could close out the "Firefox Page" was by going through the "Control/Alt/Delete" & then "Signing Out", which would initiate a "Re-start". Once I signed in, I could return to the Desktop, where everything works.

I use Firefox as my Browser on my Android phone, & at this moment, I've not had any problems using Firefox on my Cell Phone.

The only way that I could get to the Mozilla Website was by using the Microsoft Edge Browser, which is not giving me any problems as far as accessing the Internet!

How can I correct this problem, & go back to the Firefox Browser?

Hi, I have a pinned a website that will not show its icon (it won't when unpinned either).

Using the latest FF, Edge will show an icon. Is there a way to refresh FF and make it refetch the correct icon?
