Hi, I'm not sure if this is a bug, or me not using FF properly.

I want Firefox in general to ask me, which profile to use when started. So in the Profile-Manager, I removed the checkbox for "Use selected profile without asking as startup".

Now, I wanted to create a shortcut for a specific profile, so I tried running `firefox -P "myProfile"` or even `firefox -p "/path/to/myProfile"`. In both cases I get the window asking me which profile to use.

Greetings, a couple of weeks ago I started getting a black page with the message that is the title of this question, "We can’t connect to the server at www.googleadservices.com." when I click results from a web search and even clicking on links from within pages I already have open. This has happened in the past but only once in a while and isolated incidents. However right now my browsers are almost useless because of it. It started with Firefox as it is usually my default browser so I switched to Chrome and then Edge and now they are all doing it. I have posted a query in Windows forums and Microsoft help because it is with all my browsers but I am also posting in the individual browsers' help sections as well to get as much info on this as possible because it's really frustrating me and I want it fixed. I'm only able to visit 1 out of maybe every 25 pages I try to click on from any of my browsers!

Apologies if I haven't described this very well. After loading a page on Firefox, loading the next one and any further ones could just be typed over the previous one as many times as you needed. Not any more, if I try typing in a new address nothing happens and I have to cancel and load Firefox again. Never used to be like this, can anyone help please?

I'm using 128.0.3 (64-bit) for Windows, on Windows 10.

1. I open Firefox normal window. It has some pinned tabs. 2. I open an additional private window 3. I close the normal Firefox window. Only the private window remains 4. I close also the private window 5. I restart Firefox normal window. The pinned tabs have disappeared.

Hi. For the past few months I have been unable to play samples from the Audible website in Firefox on my android phone. When I click the word "Sample" Audible opens up a new tab with their Web player and I always get an error message that is just a rectangular box with an exclamation mark inside a triangle on the left side of the box. (Screenshot attached.) There are no words inside the box and the only option is to close the tab. Since there is no actual message I'm not sure what the problem is.

Playing samples used to work fine when you could play them within their web page before Audible changed its system. I seem to be able to play samples on Audible's Web player in Chrome, but would prefer to keep Firefox as my default browser. I have tried deleting all history, cookies and cache; closing and reopening Firefox; turning phone off and starting again after an hour. I've also tried enabling autoplay, but that made no difference. I was thinking that the issue may be with my other settings within Firefox, but I can't tell. Any help you can provide would be great. Today I realized that I have installed two (2) versions of Mozilla Firefox on my Laptop PC which I rarely use.

Both editions are 64-bit type but one is version 109.0.1 (11/04/2023) in

C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox and the other is version 128.0.3 (28/07/2024) in C:\Program Files (x86)/Mozilla Firefox.

I suppose it is illegal to have two versions of the same App., so the question is how can I delete the old version (109.0.1) without affecting or damaging the new version (128.0.3)?

Since the auto-update to version 128.0.3 (64-bit) two weeks ago, my Firefox crashes as soon as I switch over to a different programme. I am on Windows 10. Whenever I try to re-open the programme, I get the error message that Firefox is already running and if I want to restart or quit. Can you please deploy a fix for this? Thank you.

It's hard to describe what I mean without an example. I type "tart" into the search bar, and instead of the recently visited Wikipedia page on tarts, the autofill suggestions are full of pages in my history with "start" or "starter" in the title, or even in the URL but not the title. Is there any way to change it so the suggestions only contain the exact words I've typed?

can't download files from any sites (it write eror....) i can dowland only from google wtf i live with this problem -+ 1 year if you need to write me i add my discord and telegram to images if you have some ideas to fix write me please. Thanks🤍

I got an extension called BTRoblox and after installing it made most icons black and white. I uninstalled it and nothing changed, I tried changing my theme, restarting the browser, going in incognito tabs, and nothing has worked. I can't figure out for the life of me what this extension did to break Firefox.

I know it may sound a bit strange, but I would like to know WHY an extension is not allowed in a private window, so I might understand the reason why I'm not able to diagnose an issue I'm having with fucking amazon who has their cart all over the place for a misconfiguration in firefox that either I did or an extension is causing, however I'm unable to figure out which because I can't enable extensions in private windows, where the issue does not happen, so I'm not able to reproduce and isolate the problem. Specifically, this article: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/extensions-private-browsing Plus, I was kinda expecting I could run STG in private too, since it offer such nice and rich grouping and memory management features vanilla FF does not (PS: please take inspiration and bake it inside!!) I've attached images of the problem I'm experiencing. Its like pixels are breaking/turning negative colors and it effects anything visible. I don't really understand what's causing this issue. It doesn't effect any other program on my computer/outside the firefox window, so I assume its a firefox issue. I've uninstalled/reinstalled the program with the refresh to hopefully fix the issue but it didn't work.

Hey there, I've been using Firefox for 4 years now, and today I woke up to a huge error - I cannot access any site properly or even use it. The internet is working and is not the issue - Please help.

I've been using Mozilla Firefox since ... well, before Firefox, I used Netscape, your great-great-grandfather.

I am not blind. I have some issues with visual objects on web pages like scroll bars when you can't effectively use them. They are too thin. Mozilla has had complaints about this since 2022.

Please Fix them. Otherwise I may have to migrate to Chrome or Edge and leave my Mozilla legacy behind for a differnent fork in browsers. It's a dealbreaker folks. People will leave this browser and probably are every day for one stupid reason. Scroll bars than are inaccessible without using something like windows magnifier when you need to scroll.\

Please help me recover my bookmarks 🥺

I've gone through every single support article on this topic and tried everything suggested and still no luck. This is my hail mary.

How I got here I needed to do a full wipe and reinstal of my macOS; this was conducted with the help of the Genuis bar. Upon reinstalling Firefox, I signed into my account and my bookmarks are all gone, records of them empty.

I should also note that nothing else ported over. No passwords, no browser extensions. Nada. The passowrds and extensions aren't a big deal. I use a 3rd-party password manager and can easily re-download the handful of extensions/widgets. But I heavily relied on bookmarks for both frequently visited sites and ones rarely-used which I knew were important for future reference. And I cannot remember 80% of them...

What else I've tried other than what's suggested in help article:

• Because I did not check to confirm which Firefox profile I've been signed into for ages and ages before doing the reset, I thought maybe I had just signed into the wrong one. I proceeded to try every other email address I have, including two from my old workplace. None of the other 5 emails had profiles created. I know this because it prompted the sign up userflow; create a password, etc.
• But I also know for a fact that the bookmarks were saved as part of a profile because I used the profile sync feature to auto-port all my bookmarks when I first got this Macbook a year and a bit ago.
• The folders where bookmark backup info is stored locally are empty... Clearly, it wasn't stored in my icloud documents (that's on me for not double-checking)
• I checked my other device (mobile phone) to see if I had firefox downloaded and was signed into the same account as the original, with the bookmarks still visible. Of course I didn't. I only use Safari on my phone 😭

• Is there some way of linking my MAC address with my IP address and using those to triangulate the correct profile?
• Because my computer got wiped and nothing is saved locally, my only hope is that my bookmarks are floating around the ether. If so, I just need to figure out how to find them.

Firefox locking up today 07/31/2024 - won't compose send email in Yahoo/AT&T; only loads half a page of AOL News. Yes, I've done a restart. Chrome seems not to have this issue.

I accidentally disabled the keyboard shortcut for media browsing. For example, I was able to fast forward by 10 seconds by tapping the right arrow on my keyboard, but this has now been disabled. I cannot figure out how to get back to settings to re-enable this feature (checked online, in Mozilla support pages and on Mozilla community)

I think I tapped Ctrl + left arrow to bring up the settings box when I accidentally disabled the keyboard shortcut. Any help would be appreciated

When I'm composing a message there, and copy some text from i.e. that thread page, this thread page, a google search, etc. in the Firefox browser, and try to paste it into my message, nothing happens.

However, If I paste the item elsewhere, i.e. in my test editor, and copy it from there, then I can paste it into the answers.microsoft.com. thread message.

I initially thought this was some Microsoft site restriction, but I don't experience this in Chrome. Not only can I paste into a thread there, but I can copy something on that page and paste it into that Microsoft thread in Firefox.

So I suppose. strictly speaking, this is a pasting problem.
