On Win11.64, I noticed some weeks ago Firefox refusing to automatically open sites. I’ve also sites telling me that JavaScript is disabled. But javascript.enabled = true, in settings. I’ve renamed the folder to Firefox.old, and installed a fresh copy—though then ported bookmarks, etc. Same issues. I’ve cleared the cache. Same issues. Firefox in Private Window mode works fine. Any kindly help would be appreciated. Thanks

For some reason I can't seem to disable the "List all tabs" button that appears on the top right corner of Firefox anymore.

I have the about:config setting "browser.tabs.tabmanager.enabled" set to "false", but the button still shows up all the time and it is pretty distracting from my usually clean Firefox interface.

Does anyone have a solution to permanently remove that button?

My problem is that in new versions of Firefox (from 115) there is no way to enter numeric values ​​using the mouse wheel. The browser simply scrolls the entire page. In older versions this problem does not exist.

I tried to compare the settings about:config but did not succeed. There must be some parameter responsible for this.

In fact, they force you to update by deprecating certificates, but it is becoming more and more difficult to use :(

I use Firefox for Mac. When I click on a link to a map, I get a message to open the link in Apple Maps, installed on my computer. Is there a way to make Firefox open the link in Google Maps in the browser? I've been using Firefox for a few months now to follow online training courses or videos on the conversation papillon (www.conversationpapillon.com) and conversation santé (www.conversationsante.com) websites. For a few weeks now, the videos are no longer accessible on the pages of these two sites. The window of the video is empty. However, if I try the same link in Google Chrome, it works fine. I've contacted the publishers of these two sites, who tell me that nothing has changed on their sites in recent weeks. He advised me to contact you to find out more. Can you help me? The answer - on my win11-64 anyway - is to resart windows explorer with a batch file - which you run everytime the taskbar bug occurs. Every thing is magically fixed. Until it isnt. Then repeat.

It would be great if FF could support multiple dictionaries depending on the detected language of the typing. More and more of us are using multiple languages, and I think it's a real benefit for FF to support this feature.

I'm digging up this topic because I'm very interested in this feature (and I think many are).

It's been a while I wanted to try vertical tabs and now is is possible with FF. I was wondering if it is possible to merge the two top rows when using vertical tabs ? (The address and buttons row and the Windows, minimize, resize and close row).

When using horizontal tabs, the top row (minimize, resize and close row) is merged with the tabs row. But when using vertical tabs, you can a "useless" row that takes almost as much space as the horizontal tabs row, so vertical tabs doesn't make you gain that much browsing space.

Firefox 132.0.1 (64-bit); Fedora-40; Gnome. I just added the "authenticator" extension (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/auth-helper/?utm_source=addons.mozilla.org&utm_medium=referral&utm_content=search). I would like its icon to appear in the toolbar, along with those for NoScript, Simple Translate, and others. I tried following the instructions on this page: "https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/extensions-button". But clicking the "gear" icon in the toolbar brings up a list of all installed extensions, and there is no "gear" icon next to any of them.

How do I add the "authenticator" extension's icon to my toolbar where the other extension icons are?

How do I turn this odd feature that dims FF bars when window loses focus? As of look of it only tabbar and toolbar are affected. I couldn't find anything relevant under "about:config". Also some tricks with CSS didn't work for me, maybe because I have custom chromeCSS that brings tabbar under bookmarksbar and applies other customization so that FF window looks like old good FF before they started to put everything on a single line in the bar. Thanks in advance.

Can someone please tell me how to disable the new Sidebar? It is interrupting all of my workflow on the screen and it is frustrating with all of the choice and customization options in Firefox, that there would be no way to disable it.

Firefox on my 2018 MacBook Pro started having issues downloading all file types after I disconnected Dropbox sync and backup. Each time I try to download a file, a failed message is displayed below the file name and type. The browser was using the downloads folder that was synced with Dropbox. After disconnecting Dropbox, I tried changing the downloads location, but the "Choose" button does not display a window. The result is the same whether the Always ask you where to save files is checked or not.

I have gone through the following steps trying to resolve this issue with no success.

1. I have reset/cleared any configuration setting found using about:config and browser.download.
2. I have launched Firefox in troubleshoot mode and tested downloads with no resolution.
3. I have uninstalled Firefox and installed a fresh copy from mozilla.org with no resolution.
4. I have set the downloads folder in Safari, but this did not provide a resolution. Downloads work as expected in Brave and Safari. The current downloads location is the Downloads directory on my iCloud Drive.

The second screenshot with the error attached in still referencing the Dropbox-connected Downloads folder. No other browsers are using this folder and the Dropbox app has been completely removed from my laptop.

I use Firefox for web development and need to be able to download various files throughout the day, so this has become very frustrating.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Recently a new sidebar appeared on Firefox on my desktop. I actually really liked the change because I have wanted to move my tabs to the side for a while. I had tree style tabs installed and I was a little annoyed that I couldn't disable the tabs on the top bar. But now I can!

My laptop however does not have the new sidebar yet and when I look for updates it says there aren't any. My laptop has limited screen space and I much prefer to have this new ui choice but I can't enable it. I understand that they probably update new designs in batches to test the waters but is there a way to get around it and enable it on my laptop too?

I use the same Firefox account for both so it seems a little counterintuitive to have different experiences on different devices on the same account.

Also very much thank you for this change! It's something I've wanted for a while. I also have one little suggestion and that is to have the option for a similar feature to tree style tabs on the sidebar tab layout.

Does anyone know where Mozilla wallpapers are stored? I wanted to set a wallpaper from Mozilla's menu as the desktop wallpaper on my laptop. I looked for hidden files and checked the forums, but I can't find them in the given locations e.g. my profile. Maybe these files are masked somehow. I'm looking for particular wallpaper from the abstraction category (screenshot). Can anyone tell me how to find it?

The newest version of Firefox now has what seems to be a permanent sidebar on the left side of the screen. This is incredibly inconvenient as 1) I have no need for it or any of the AI stuff and 2) I'm using an older screen that is square and so now web pages are contorted when I view them.

Please remove this bar or let me know how to remove it myself.

I've been using and enjoying Firefox for years on my various Windows machines. I've just purchased a Ubuntu Linux Thinkpad and have installed and used Firefox for a few days. It's generally working well except at start-up. Apparently it tries but can't restore the previous session, even though I have not selected "Open previous windows and tabs" ??

I am using lastest version on Windows and Linux (133.0) but I did notice the settings/options are a bit different in Linux, but I would just like to set my Linux FF to do same as Windows FF on startup, that is just two open tabs: - Gmail opened as a pinned tab. - Google Search as the open tab with focus I've attached a snip of the relevant section in General Settings How do I set this up in Linux? Why the focus on the search bar on the homepage and new tab automatically shifts to URL bar? I hate this. I cannot find any option to change this. Vivaldi gives us an option to decide what we want unlike Firefox.

Chrome focuses on the search bar on the new tab regardless, duckduckgo browser does same, edge does same, opera does same, Brave does same and Vivaldi does same but gives us option in the settings as in the image below. But Firefox automatically forces it. Why? Looks so cheap.

How to change this? I dont want this. I cannot see what I am typing when it shifts to smaller bar on the URL bar from the search bar.

And most importantly, I cannot change the new tab or homepage with any other search engine, like Duckduckgo or Ecosia or Brave Search, if I had any search engine addon from addon store. Chrome has no such BS show. If I am using Google, then new tab and homepage is of Google. But if I use any search, I have to suffer with underdeveloped same old FF new tab and homepage. Is this intentional or forced?

Edge is opening randomly, might be going back until this is user controlled.

In the section: "Select text to see suggested prompts" there is a screenshot which shows pre-written prompts and a textbox from the shortcut for AI prompts menu. Is it possible to have custom promts which are added to this menu?

I have two computers. Both sign into the same Firefox account. Both instances of Firefox are the same version (134.0.1 64-bit).

On my main computer, creating a new tab is set to Firefox Home (default), and clicking the "+" sign to create a new tab results in the recommendations appearing as seen in the first image (firefox_2025-01-19_17-42-57.png)

On the other computer, creating a new tab is set to Firefox Home (default), and clicking the "+" sign to create a new tab results in the recommendations appearing as seen in the second image (firefox_2025-01-19_17-43-57.png)

How to I get both instances of Firefox to do the same thing when creating a new tab, i.e. organize the recommendations like the second image?
