I work on a secure network, isolated from the internet. Firefox installs OK from a USB stick and works without problems. There are many installations of firefox on different servers and workstations. Firefox sync does not work because it can't reach the cloud. Is it possible to create our own cloud to sync passwords across the system?

Hello there,

I work in GNU/Linux + Gnome with a few tabs (around 100). They have a distinctive setting (research, individual, identified with a course, and work; are a few models). I utilize a few windows with a few tabs each. I might want to have one gathering for every window, to have the option to close a window and not losing the tabs it needed, (to close all the windows and have the option to resume them).

I can't figure out how to compose my tabs so as to not separate their tabs. There are a lot of additional items to bunch tabs. In any case, every one of them winds up stowing away/unhiding the tabs of just the current window.

It looks that the basic engineering is this:

The operating system has Firefox.

Firefox has Windows.

Windows have tabs.

Tabs are sensible just in the window they have a place with.

Hence, every window is just mindful of its own gathering of tabs.

What I am searching for is an alternate methodology, or if nothing else its fantasy:

The operating system has Firefox

Firefox has Tabs.

Tabs are reasonable, from any cause of a window.

In this way, the window is just a watcher that knows about all the tabs.

The modules:

Sync Tab Group, Simple Tab Groups, and comparative work a piece, however on the off chance that I open another window like [[anything|https://nbayoungboymerch.net/]], and do some perusing, the old window knows nothing in the new window.

Is there a setting/module that can tackle this issue? possibly I am feeling the loss of some setting or I simply don't have a clue how to utilize the modules...

Much obliged for your time.

When I try to sync Firefox I get the following error. The confirmation email we sent to oratek@gmail.com was returned and we’ve locked your account to protect your Firefox data.

If this is a valid email address, let us know and we can help unlock your account.

I Have done the following: 1. Checked if the e-mail account is valid and working - it is  ; 2. Add accounts@firefox.com to contact list (so it's most definitely not marked as spam/abuse/terrorist attack/etc.); 3. Wait 24 hours - I've waited months actually - And then retried the sync process;

I'm certain Google mail did not EVER return the confirmation email. clearly a bug. How do I get the system to unblock my account. tried logging a Bugzilla - in fact I've logged two now with no response.

Hello,

Every time I open Firefox on my Windows or Linux machines an additional tab opens titled "Connect another device." I currently have four devices that I'm signed into (three computers and an Android phone) with Sync activated. All of the devices have the most up-to-date versions of Firefox.

If I open the tab it gives me the option to open Firefox on my phone and scan a QR code. I reinstalled Firefox on my phone and did the scan, which was recognized and processed. I thought that would solve the problem but it didn't.

My version of Firefox is 81.0.1 on Windows and the other devices get Firefox updates automatically on a regular basis.

How can I make this extra tab go away?

Thank you.

Hello,

Background: I have an issue with my computer. It crashes often, and sometimes when it does and I try to reopen firefox, I'm told that "firefox is already open," and so I cannot. I've realized that I can use Terminal (/Applications/Firefox.app/Contents/MacOS/firefox-bin -P) to delete extra profiles, which I think are created when the crash occurs. Once I'm able to reopen the browser, though, and I go through the trouble of signing in again, I often find that my browsing history/ bookmarks/ saved logins are out of date.

Question: Firefox on my phone is logged into the same account as on my browser, but the login info/ bookmarks/ etc there are still up to date. I'm scared to sync the phone and browser, as I'm worried the browser will overwrite the phone and not vice versa. Is there a way to make it so that my browser is backed up from my phone?

Thanks for any help!

Hi I have been using firefox and thunderbird on WINDOWS 8.1 for many years now. I have easily restored firefox and thunderbird profiles(bookmarks, passwords, themes, addons etc.) after periodic formats and reinstallations. But now I am planning to move to fresh install of WINDOWS 10. Will simple copying and pasting of profile folder work or should I use Sync? or any other option? I haven't used Sync till now,so a bit hesitant.

I don't know why I can't find any help articles on this, I can't possibly be the only one. My firefox account is not syncing between my devices. I am logged in to my firefox account on all of my devices. I only have one account. I can save a password on one, but it does not save on my account and I am not able to retrieve it between devices. What is the point of syncing if I can't access my passwords on other accounts? And yes, I have sync turned on. Also, why does it not auto fill across devices when the password is saved?? It seems like a useless feature.

Since updating to Android version 81.1.4 (which I don't particularly like as the whole fabric of the app renders it more difficult to use) I have had problems syncing across my Windows 10 desktop, my Apple MacBook Pro (OS X 10.15.7) and Android phone. It is as if the last update to both Android and the Windows version of Firefox have destroyed the syncing process that previously existed. Trying to follow the prescribed process for syncing has also proven difficult to the point of frustration. I seek a clear set of the steps involved with explanations of the steps that appear to me to have been omitted by the Firefox cognoscenti so that I can achieve the synchronisation of passwords and bookmarks across platforms. To help understand where I am at in the process and what is going wrong, I have tried to sync devices and add devices by opening Firefox on my Windows desktop and logging into my account. From there I select Account settings-Sync settings-Connect another device. This opens a new tab (Connect another device that has a dialogue box with a 'Show code' button. Clicking on the button produces another dialogue box with a Q-Code displayed that is supposed to 'scan in the code from within Sync settings'. From there on I am lost. I cannot discern any Q-code viewer within the sync settings on my Android device and using my camera results in nothing but an image of the code. Can someone please help with a clear explanation of what I need to do to synchronise Firefox across my platforms and restore my faith in the browser that has served me well for about the past two decades? I have neither the time nor inclination to trawl through all the KB articles that appear somewhat related but prove simply to add to my frustration with the product.

WHAT HAPPENED: 1. I signed out of Mozilla on the owners laptop and entered my own account information 2. As I signed out of my account, I checked the box "delete data from this device", so that my data would not be saved. 3. The owner entered their account email but Mozilla did not find it so the user created a new account using the same email address as prior.

THE PROBLEM: all data is missing including bookmarks, passwords, etc. It appears Mozilla sees the account as new. Even when the user logs into a site they frequent regularly, the site does not recognize the user and requires login and password and verification of the user. Seemingly like the device is registering as new to the site.

STEPS TAKEN TO RESOLVE - UNSUCCESSFUL 1. I used the restore bookmarks option to restore to a previous copy

    A. according to the user, the restored bookmarks are not current

2. I verified that there is only one profile for the user 3. I verified that the profile has data in the local drive and the profile default is set to read the profile on the local drive

NEED HELP: 1. Restore the account completely so that all sites recognize the device and all bookmarks are restored

Thank you for your time and help to resolve this situation! Dawn

Yesterday I posted a query on this topic trying to find out how I can get my Android firefox app to scan QR codes to allow me to add other devices to my existing account. Although I haven't had a reply, I managed to find out how to perform the scanning operation from within the Firefox for Android app (V81.1.4). I set up all the permissions for the app in Settings and thought I was on my way to achieving the result when I found the 'Scan' symbol just above the search bar and tapped that. The QR scanner duly opened and scanned the code and I 'Allowed' the app to open the link. The page that opened announced: 'Pair using an app' and below it asked: 'Did you use the sustem camera? You must pair from within a Firefox app.' I repeated the exercise several times but got the same result. I do not understand why this is happening and why I cannot sync across my devices any more. It seemed to work fine without much intervention from me in the past, but since the recent upgrades the app is equally dysfunctional across all my devices. I sincerely hope that someone out there is able to set me straight.

I managed to explode my computer this weekend and I lost, among other things, my bookmarks in Firefox. They can't be recovered from windows.old as Windows somehow decided to replace the old windows.old by a new one with nothing useful in it.

I still have all my bookmarks in my account, though, which I know from looking at my Android phone. Now, I'm just scared that if I sync, they will get deleted from my phone instead of synced back to my computer. I could not find any specific answer to this; can someone help me? Do I have anything to do to make sure it goes the right way?

Thanks!

I'm guessing at the problem: it seems that firefox wants to GIVE ME A SECURE PASSWORD that is different than the one that is written down and remembered by my iphone and since I'm going blind I do not want all of these computer generated passwords. This PC that I am on now seems to have the correct password but firefox is insisting that I put firefox on different device. I THINK my android phone is synced but the older computer also a window 10 laptop refuses to allow me to sign in with my original password. I have no idea if Im suppose to have a different password on each device or what is wrong that I can not sync everything

Any HELP and suggestions?

Hi! I recently reset Firefox on my iMac, which restored it to default settings. But now, although I'm signed in to Firefox on my Macbook laptop and my Android phone, logins and passwords aren't syncing to the iMac. They're all on the same network, inches apart, and the two computers are otherwise synced (both running Catalina 10.15.7). I've tried the "Sync Now" button in Firefox, but it's not helping. Any suggestions? Thanks!
