I've got full-screen-api.ignore-widgets = true, so that I can use the f11 key effectively as a "hide-the-toolbar" button. this works nicely since I can still use my window manager's fullscreen shortcut to actually go into fullscreen.

the problem is, whenever I do that, firefox detects the change and then shows/hides the toolbar again accordingly. just wondering if there's any way to stop firefox from detecting fullscreen changes?

I naively turned off exit-on windowOpen & windowRaise, but that had no effect.

any help is appreciated.

I went to IT at school because the VPN wasn't working. The VPN we need to access all school resources uses the device's default browser to do whatever it does. The IT guy said my issue probably had something to do with the VPN detecting saved passwords for the school and seeing that as a security threat. The temporary solution was to switch my default browser, but I hate both chrome and edge.

What do I need to change about my firefox settings to avoid the conflict with the VPN? I don't want to clear all my passwords; is that necessary?

I use the email server fastmail.fm inside the Firefox browser on a 2023 Macbook pro. In the main everyday pane (the list of emails) there is a right-hand scroll bar. Frequently that scroll bar is MUCH too long, so that I cannot scroll all the way to the bottom of the list of emails. Both Apple and fastmail.fm are pretty sure they are not responsible. When the scroll bar is too long, I know a work-around, but I would like the problem not to happen.

I tried the following to add voice search to the Firefox browser in Windows. I followed the instructions in the attached but when I open a new tab voice search is not in the search bar. I returned to about:config and the two settings = true. Why did it not work as it was supposed to?

A new voice tab opened amongst my open tabs and when I select it, it's Google Voice. I then select for personal use, I then have a choice from Android. iOS and Web. I select Web. It then says Google Voice is not available yet in my country (UK).

I use voice search a lot on my Android phone and tablet and would like to use it in Firefox.

Running Ubuntu 22.04 in KASM workspace with Firefox 135.0 (64-bit)

my policies.json file looks like:

{

   "policies": {
       "WebsiteFilter": {
           "Block": ["<all_urls>","*://*","*://*/*"],
           "Exceptions": ["*://*.my.domain/*","*://192.168.80.*/*","*://localhost/*"]
       },
       "Proxy": {
           "Mode": "system",
           "Locked": True,
           "HTTPProxy": "192.168.80.2:3128",
           "UseHTTPProxyForAllProtocols": True,
           "Passthrough": "",
           "ProxyBypassList": "localhost,127.0.0.1,*.my.domain,192.168.80.16,proxy"
       }
   }

}

We're trying to lock down all external URLS, and then pass in a exceptions.

This configuration does not honor the <all_urls> in the block list, and it only works when I remove the proxy.

The proxy appears to override the block, and that's a problem if we're trying to control access to external URLS

I suddenly got a bunch of notices on my computer saying that malicious software has been installed on my computer. They just kept coming and coming. So I turned off notifications in Firefox, and that seemed to fix the problem. But has my computer been taken over? Is it safe to use it? I hope you can help me. Thank you, Ree_B333@yahoo.com

Firefox has taken to deleting cookies and site data each time I close. I have gone into Settings and unticked the box for this and all seems well for a short time, then it starts up again and when I go back into Settings, it shows the box ticked again. I untick it and sooner or later, it re-ticks it again and starts dumping my cookies/site data.

This seems to be part of a larger issue that has been happening over the last eight weeks or so where I need to reset Firefox frequently because it suddenly opens multiple windows and stops working unless I quit and restart. I'm sensing it has to do with Enhanced Tracking Protection but don't know how to stop the above from happening

I am on a Mac desktop running Ventura 13.7.4. I run Firefox at the Strict level (and have done so successfully for years.) I have extensions Adblock Plus, Don't Track Me Google, FoxClocks, Ghostery and Privacy Badger. These have all played nicely together for a long time. I also had Facebook Container and CanvasBlocker but these are currently disabled. I had hoped they might be the cause of the resetting issues as they've both been touchy in the past but there hasn't been any improvement since disabling them.

How can I stop Firefox from continually dumping my cookies and site data at the end of each session?
