One day there are no shortcuts on my firefox homepage, none show up when I open a new tab. In my settings, it shows I have set to allow 3 rows of shortcuts, but there are none! This is so totally inconvenient and I have spent hours trying to sort it out, so I might be bailing on Firefox as my default browser.

Some google search suggestions mention "clicking on the plus sign" to add a shortcut. THat opens a new tab but does not relate to shortcuts.

This is a snip from my Chrome homepage, with shortcuts. I used to have 3 rows in Firefox. Now there are none, and there is no plus sign to add one.

Hi. I have done a cleaning with CCleaner, so not sure if it affected firefox, but now the new tab page doesn't have my shortcuts any longer nor any buttons to add them. I had 4 rows of my most used ones. Now I only have the "recent activity" 2 rows....but they don't seem to fill in either...not sure what went wrong. in my settings the shortcut button is ticked. Is there a way I could revert to firefox that I had a couple of hours ago, to see my shortcuts back? I am not technical, so don't know what to do. thanks.

I have lost all the short cuts on my home page. As I use these very frequently, this is a big problem for me. I know this problem has been raised previously, but none of the solutions work for me.

I have checked the short cuts still exist in about:config...newtabs.pinned. They are still there. I've refreshed Firefox. I've loaded the latest version I've toggled the number of lines of short cuts in 'customise' I've enabled sponsored short cuts I can get recent activity slots, and curated stories. I do not want to set up a completely new profile as I have an extensive list of bookmarks.

Is there anything else I can do?

Had to recently reset my browser and lost all my history. Apparently it messed up my custom settings in some way as well.

New Tab still shows my FF homepage with shortcuts and history gone - I've managed to get those back but with one huge problem:

- Clicking on a shortcut opens it in the same tab, whereas earlier I had it working when clicking on a shortcut would open it IN A NEW TAB.

Where's the setting in about:config to fix this???

If this feature has been removed - why???

I don't know what to say. One day I had one row of frequently visited icons below the search bar in the middle of the page and the next day, they were gone. Any help, greatly appreciated.

I am experiencing an issue with the shortcuts (Top Sites) on the New Tab page. Despite disabling the relevant options, unwanted websites are automatically appearing based on my browsing history.

I need to manually control and add all shortcuts myself, and I do not want Firefox to automatically suggest them.

I have set the following preferences to false and the issue persists:

   browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.feeds.topsites

   browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.feeds.section.topstories

   browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.feeds.section.highlights

   browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.showSponsored

   browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.showSponsoredTopSites

I also tried setting the maximum number of Top Sites to 0 using:

   browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.feeds.topsites.limit (Assuming this is the correct preference for the limit, as the one you listed was repeated)

Could you please advise on what other preference might be causing the automatic generation of these shortcuts?"

Good Morning, Please how can I add or take out in firefox the icon shortcuts with most visited sites that I use, Also firefox is adding by itself shortcuts to my opening page and I don't want to have more than 6 or 7 or firefox suggestions. Thank you for your help

why everytime i open i new tab it appears in my shortcuts section i only pinned like two sites and evry time i open a new page it appears in the shortcuts and theres no setting that i can turn off

I want to add shortcuts that appear when I open a new tab. The instructions say to go to the site you want to add, then click on the 3 dots and choose add your shortcut. I don't see the three dots to click on, just the 3 lines. Any help would be appreciated.

EVERY SINGLE TIME FIREFOX UPDATES THEY OPEN A NEW TAB AND ADVERTISE FEATURES AND GARBAGE I DO NOT CARE ABOUT.

DESPITE EVERY SETTING IMAGINABLE, IT STILL DOES IT. EVERY TIME.

WHY? WHY DO YOU NOT RESPECT YOUR USER'S REQUESTS AND CONTINUE TO DO THIS?

WE ALL REMEMBER THE TIME YOU SHOVED ADVERTISEMENTS INTO IT.

I"D RATHER PAY FOR FIREFOX THAN HAVE THIS RIDICULOUS GARBAGE HAPPEN EVERY TIME YOU UPDATE THE APPLICATION.

MAKE A SETTING FOR THIS OR SOMETHING THAT YOU WON'T JUST IGNORE OR OVERRIDE THE NEXT TIME YOU WANT TO SPAM YOUR ENTIRE USER BASE

Wie kann ich ein icon plazieren dass es immer gleich ist immer an zeile 2 Position 4

Das Icon darf sich nicht verschieben.

Damit bildet der Browser ein Menue ab Beispiel  : Struktur von Aufrufen Bund Länder Kommune Hilfe

Something went drunk and now my blank page no longer lists the links i want it to. Used to be once upon a time that the browser showed (as setup) 2 rows of links for ease of access.

Refer to screenshot if i fail to make sense.

The New Tab Page is a fantastic tool. Are there any plans to allow more than four rows to their layout? I would benefit greatly by having 13 rows. Might there be any plans for that?
