I got File not found

Firefox can’t find the file at /usr/share/jupyter/kernels/sagemath/doc/.

   Check the file name for capitalization or other typing errors.
   Check to see if the file was moved, renamed or deleted.

At the same moment edge and opera open this url. System is ubuntu 22.04; firefox from snap, 121.0(64bit). Everything I know of is up to date.

Hello,

I've had this issue where in order to get the 1password extension to work, you have to login to your account using the firefox browser. During that authentication process, after successful credentials are entered, the web page asks to "Plug in your security key and activate now". However, there is no prompt within the Firefox browser to indicate that firefox is identifying that the browser needs the key. Typically, in the past I've gotten a pop up that's from firefox that says somethign to the effect of "plug in your security key and touch". However, this time it does not occur.

I've gone to 1Password Support, Yubikey Support, and both have told me its nothing wrong with their product, but instead my firefox configuration. I know its not an issue with my hardware key based on various troubleshooting methods - firstly the key appears with `lsusb`, I also am able to use the security key on this same device when using Chrome. We also validated it's not exclusively a 1password issue as I don't get the prompt in firefox when using another website ( https://demo.yubico.com/webauthn-technical/registration)

Below are my webauthn configs: ``` security.webauth.webauthn true security.webauth.webauthn_enable_softtoken false security.webauth.webauthn_enable_usbtoken true security.webauth.webauthn_testing_allow_direct_attestation false security.webauthn.ctap2 true security.webauthn.webauthn_enable_android_fido2.residentkey false ```

I've also toggled the `webauthn_enable_softtoken` on, but no luck. I also po

I'm on version 120.0 of Firefox. Firefox is not installed via snap, and I validated that all the firefox folders & files were owned by root. There also no apparmor or any interference from other apps blocking it from working.

At a loss for what to do, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Running firefox 121 with Gnome I was hoping a problem that existed with earlier versions would be resolved. When the window protocol is wayland and the window is fullscreen (F11), playing video fullscreen causes the image to be "oversize" and only the upper-left quarter is shown.

Doing the same thing with window protocol of xwayland results in fullscreen video displaying properly.

I believe this is due to an issue with the way my 4k screen with 2x UI scaling is being reported to Firefox:

Under xwayland, I get the following information for my display (Display0) 3840x2160@120Hz scales:1.000000|2.000000

When running wayland, I get 7680x4320@120Hz scales:2.000000|2.000000

Thanks in advance

On some websites, the videos that are being displayed come with the loop attribute associated with it. Firefox conveniently adds an option in the right-click menu which in entitled "loop", where you can enable/disable the video from looping. Here's an example of what it looks like: https://assets-prod.sumo.prod.webservices.mozgcp.net/media/uploads/images/2024-01-06-07-22-59-911af7.png

However, some websites have auto-looping by default, meaning that if I want to see several videos without auto-looping, I would have to disable it on every video I see, which becomes very (very!) cumbersome.

Surprisingly I haven't found a way to make sure that this checkbox is disabled by default, i.e. that all videos play without auto-loop enabled. This leads me to my questions: Is there a way to consistently disable auto-loop across websites on FireFox?

Just recently I realized that the master password does not apply to credit card information. Firefox on Mac and Windows, if a login password exists, allows us to require authentication to autofill, view or edit saved credit cards. Firefox on Linux doesn't allow this authentication. So, I'm guessing that the credit card information is stored in Linux in an insecure manner. This is true? Another question about Mac and Windows. Does requiring authentication for credit card processes mean that the card information is encrypted on disk? Or does the password only protect information from unauthorized viewing, and the cards are stored on disks in text form?

After updating to v120 my Firefox started behaving strangely. With v119 I was able to fire up my Linux and Firefox and had immediate access to both Gmail and Calendar. Now I am requested to sign in every time, are offered a Shareable Calendar (for which I have no use) and get a notification in my cell phone reporting a new login. It would appear that the problem lies in syncing as WhatsApp Web is also requesting scanning its QR code every time too. This is most annoying. No settings were changed after the update. As a temporary solution I grabbed a v119 tar.gz from my wife's laptop and installed it in mine. Now all is behaving normally as before. Am I doing something wrong? Will appreciate any help you can provide.

I use Containers a LOT and have added to my list. There seemed to be no way to get them ordered the same way in the drop-down list for a new tab as I specify under Manage Containers, so I just removed and re-created them one at a time in the order I wanted. Now the Container drop-down list for a new tab appears in the right order. That's on latest Firefox on Ubuntu 22.04. I have Sync turned on for everything, and all the Containers I created in Ubuntu Firefox are shown in Firefox for Windows 10, but they're in a random order. This is extremely annoying, as I have about 25 Containers. When they're ordered I can quickly find the Container I want to use for a new tab, but the randomized order makes it difficult.

How can I get the Container list in Windows Firefox to be identical to Ubuntu Firefox - both sync'd with my one Mozilla account and both at Firefox v 121.0.

Thanks.

Hello, I'm suffering from an annoyance: having 200% Gnome interface scaling (with or without fractional scaling enabled), when pasting a screenshot from clipboard to some image accepting forms, like on forums, it appears twice bigger than the source. The same screenshot pasted to GIMP looks correct.

Chrome behaves similarly, btw. So what could that be?

When I tried to print something I would get a "Preparing Preview" hang.

Other support answers, suggested 1. deleting the default printer 2. delete some custom settings in about:config

Both solutions did not work for me.

In my case it turned out the firewall was the issue:

During the Preparing Preview, firefox tries to connect to port 80 then port 631.

In my case, the firewall was dropping everything except RELATED/ESTABLISHED.

Opening port 631 for the printer did not help either, because firefox was trying port 80 first. Since all requests were silently dropped (default IPtable policy), firefox waited forever for an answer.

Now with the following rules, it worked. [0:0] -A INPUT -p tcp -m tcp --dport 631 -m state --state NEW -j ACCEPT [0:0] -A INPUT -p tcp -j REJECT --reject-with tcp-reset

These rules needs to be on IPV4 and IPV6 firewalls.

I currently have a Windows 7 PC with Firefox version 112.0.2 and normally use the EXE files from Mozilla's FTP site (ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases) to upgrade Firefox.

With Mozilla's decision to move Windows 7 users on to the ESR branch of Firefox I was looking for the best way to install the ESR version using EXE/MSI files. In this regard I have the following questions:

1) Is it best to first install the standard Firefox 115.0.3 EXE (last standard Firefox for Windows 7 users) and then the 115.1.0 EXE (first Windows 7 ESR Firefox)?

2) Would doing the above method cause any conflictions?

3) I read a while ago that the ESR version is a separate install that can run in parallel to the standard version, if this is true would it be ok to uninstall the standard version after the ESR install to not leave vulnerable versions on the system?

4) As the latest ESR version is 115.5.0, if the above method is ok. After installing the standard 115.0.3 should I still install 115.1.0 ESR or move straight to 115.5.0 ESR?

5) When moved onto the ESR branch can you jump versions or do the updates have to be installed in order?

Many pages in firefox become unresponsive for me while loading and then appear to never finish loading. The address bar remains mostly functional, but:

  • the page itself responds to no clicks or scrolls
  • the favicon in the tabs above the address bar is replaced with an animated loading icon and stays that way
  • the refresh button to the left of the address bar becomes an X and stays that way
  • the cursor icon becomes stuck (e.g. if it was a pointer, it remains a pointer no matter where on the page I move it.)

One example page where this happens is the firefox 'Get community support' forums page itself which loads when I click 'ask now': https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/get-community-support?exit_aaq=1

What's particular about my setup?

I have produced this behaviour when having no browser extensions at all, not even my password manager. I'm using firefox on Linux (Ubuntu 22.04 LTS). I found that on Ubuntu 22.04 LTS, it comes installed as a snap even if I install it with `apt install firefox`, and I really needed a non-snap implementation so that I could integrate my password manager. (I'm using 1Password. To integrate the 1Password browser extension with the 1Password desktop application, I can't have firefox sandboxed by snap.) Therefore, I installed firefox as a deb package using the instructions given on https://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2022/04/how-to-install-firefox-deb-apt-ubuntu-22-04:

```
  1. remove the Firefox Snap:
sudo snap remove firefox
  1. add the Mozilla Team PPA to your list of software sources:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:mozillateam/ppa
  1. tell apt to prefer the PPA/deb/apt version of Firefox:
echo ' Package: * Pin: release o=LP-PPA-mozillateam Pin-Priority: 1001 ' | sudo tee /etc/apt/preferences.d/mozilla-firefox
  1. tell apt to install future upgrades automatically
echo 'Unattended-Upgrade::Allowed-Origins:: "LP-PPA-mozillateam:${distro_codename}";' | sudo tee /etc/apt/apt.conf.d/51unattended-upgrades-firefox
  1. install the Firefox deb using apt:
sudo apt install firefox ```
Is there a better course of action? Having this password-manager integration is essential to me.
Expected behavior: After re-opening a PDF which has been previously annotated, the annotations can still be tweaked, deleted, or repositioned.
Actual behavior: Re-opening a PDF which has been previously annotated causes drawings and images which had previously been mutable to become an unchangeable part of the PDF.
Steps to recreate: - Open a PDF in Firefox's PDF viewer - Using the "Draw" tool, add a few highlights, scribbles, or other annotations - Using the "Add or edit images" tool, add an image - With either the draw or image tool selected, observe how either annotation type can be clicked on, the repositioned, deleted, or (in the case of drawings) altered in thickness or color - Save the PDF, either by pressing Ctrl+S or by clicking the "Save" button in the top right - Open the saved version of the PDF - Observe that the drawings and images added in steps two and three can no longer be modified or repositioned using the methods in step four.
This does not seem to apply to Text.
This was experienced on Firefox 120.0 running NixOS 23.05 using the default Firefox package (pkgs.firefox)
