What have you done, Firefox? Where are my bookmarks? None of the help articles have helped me find them. No "Bookmarks Library" link, no bookmarks button on main page, no "Refresh" option anywhere that I can find....

Opened Firefox this morning around 11 a.m., opened up Firefox. A dialogue box I have never seen before appeared, insisting I set up a "profile". What profile? Why? Why no explanation of why I need a profile, and what the h.... is the difference between the two profiles offered?

When I finally chose "default" for profile (NO idea what that means!), I saw that all my settings are gone and most alarmingly, ALL my bookmarks. HOW do I retrieve them?

I am using a laptop Dell with Windows 10, 64-bit....what else do you need to know?

Really upset with this. Also upset with how difficult it is to find immediate help for Firefox.

My surface pro died. Bought new computer, downloaded firefox, logged in and pressed sync. The bookmarks from Firefox on my surface pro did not import into my new computer. Help?

I was having problems with Windows 11 and I reinstalled it, After the new installation I lost my passwords and bookmarks from Firefox. I signed into Firefox however I did not know my password so I had to renew it, does this mean I have lost the passwords and bookmarks forever? I didn't have a recent back up, either. I tried to do a system restore but the new version of Windows 11 did not have any restore points. Regards from Narelle Patterson

I upgraded my iMac from Mohave to Monterey and lost all my bookmarks in Firefox. I had hundreds. I'd like to get them back. Maybe from a saved backup file on my backup harddrive. I've tried all the suggestions posted online. It looks like the file that holds the bookmarks was updated to the most recent. I don't know where to find the old bookmarks file. Can anyone help?

When I restart the browser, the bookmark bar is empty on startup and it also does not respond to anything. You can't use RMB on it and you can't drag a bookmark onto the toolbar.

I have tried 500 billion different thing with no luck - for instance:

• Refresh
• Reset toolbars to default
• Reinstall and complete deletion of profile etc.
• Diagnostic start with extensions disabled

...and probably a few hundred other things, but the problem reappears every time.

I'm using sync, so every time I've deleted/cleared etc., I log back in to sync and it syncs back bookmarks. Everything is great until I close the browser and restart it - then the bookmar toolbar is empty and unresponsive again.

The problem appeared recently - probably within the last 1-2 weeks.

Please help. :)

What happened to my "recently bookmarked" category? It has disappeared and when I save a book mark, no where to be found??? Clicking on "tags" shows empty as well.

Help me restore the generic "recently bookmarked" item again. Thank you.

I'm having a pretty frustrating issue that I've been trying to troubleshoot all morning with my bookmarks toolbar. I've made sure the toolbar is enabled, changed my theme, used multiple workaround on this forum and others, refreshed and reinstall Firefox to no avail. The only thing I noted was after my first refresh of Firefox my bookmarks toolbar was present, but when I closed firefox and reopened it again it was gone.

Hi! My bookmarks are not syncing across my various devices. I tried:

• Signing out and in all devices.
• Delete my account and create a new one with the same email address.

But none of this solved the problem. Thanks

Hi, I recently had to upgrade my Linux system and Firefox along with it. I am trying to find my bookmark properties or description or comment field with important information that is not kept anywhere else. I found a couple old questions that I thought might be related to this but again they are old:

So this is a new question as the others were locked. I tried doing what was listed in them to make a backup/export but looking at the html only shows the book mark and no other fields related to the them. The bookmark-notes add-on is 4 years old so I don't know if that would help me get my stored information. This is causing me lots of problems. Please advise.

Hi I Can not remove Bookmarks. I test all usual ways but nothing happened!i first i test manage Bookmarks and select delete but it did not work... then i made my own account and nothing change... steal i can not delete bookmarks.

 Please help me.

This problem has been reported over and over for over 3 years. Why should the solution be to turn off syncing?

In addition to preventing the problem from occurring, Firefox needs to provide a fix to eliminate duplicate bookmarks in bulk.

I want to drag a URL to a specific Bookmarks Folder I have (located in the extended bookmarks list (accessed by the double arrow at the far right) but every time I try, the extended list disappears when I try to carry the dragged URL onto it. I can't even select a bookmark in tehe extended list and drag it into a folder from there like I used to be able to do. Please help.

Howdy!

I need to find out if there is a way to transfer just certain bookmarks to another computer without having to transfer the entire bookmark file. I do not need the entire bookmarks file, just certain bookmarks within the file.

Can this be done? (Without using Sync, if at all possible, please.)

Hello I have problem on my fedora workstation. When i click right button on the lowest bookmark on my list, the menu is hiding outside the screen and i can't see options.

I created a folder on my bookmarks toolbar, in there are more folder, entertainment , comparison sites etc. All were connecting up until a few days ago, now if I click on a link, it just does not connect. If I type in the search bar the site address it connects within seconds.

All my bookmarks on my toolbar vanished, even though they're still listed as being bookmarked on the toolbar, and the toolbar itself is still present. Only around 2 or 3 times have they actually shown up within the past month or so with all of the times I start up Firefox. What's the deal?

Despite i selected "always show" in the options of the menu toolbar, as indicated in many answers and guides, Mozilla keeps randomly to show or not to show (most of the times) my bookmarks in the top bar. The bookmarks are still there if i press on top on bookmarks in fact they appear, simply they are not anymore in the bar. I have reset several times to default from the options but it doesnt change anything. Any clue? Thank you
