None of the topics seemed to match my issue so I selected "Browse".

In FF 153.0.1 on W11 64-bit, after Firefox updated to the latest version my Alt+D does not work. Ctrl+L still works. In Incongnito, Alt+D DOES work. However, in regular browsing it does not work, even after I have disabled all of my extensions. I don't know why it's not working or what I could do from my end to try to get it working.

I recently purchase s new Dell desktop computer with Windows 11, my preferred search browser is Fire Fox i have used it for years and like it. Recently when i make a search with Fox Fire the answer for the search is with another search engine, example: Yahoo, Google, Edge or other. I don't recall this with the old windows 10 why is the happening and can I change this ?.

Added by FF - poor move on FF part. Unlike others, can't be removed any of the "traditiona" about: methods.

Recently any search I do via Firefox tab is automatically taken over by Yahoo and I'm not aware I ever sanctioned this and I don't want this to happen as normally Google was doing the searches. Thank you

I'm not sure what update it was but, new system so I had to go into setting and set things how I like. I cant remove options from additional search engines in settings. This used to be a normal feature. It is no longer one. I want to know how to remove them. Not just disable them, it is not the same. It's fine, If I have to manually recompile the browser to get this done. I just don't want them there. On version 155.0a1 on Arch Linux.

Any constructive help would be greatly appreciated.

perhaps if you just had a few empty boxes so someone could write in the name of the search engine and firefox would know the complex URL's connected to the name of the search engine.............

I tried to use Firefox as my search engine but that didn't work so I re-downloaded DuckDuck, but the address bar say "search with google". I use to have DuckDuck but deleted it because I got tired of sites wanting to know my location. How do I get rid of that. I've tried all options in the settings file. I would prefer

Recent builds have changed the way that the user can direct queries to the various search engines that can be added (i.e. eBay, Wikipedia, IMDB etc) - to a new configuration that is awkward and forces more clicks.

Here is the method that currently allows reverting to the previous approach :

in about:config

Set string "browser.search.widget.new: to false

... and to delay automatic deletion of engines set "browser.search.widget.removeAfterDaysUnused" to thousands
